The lights went off leaving Zero and Shi Jia in darkness but that wasn't what frightened them. The next thing that followed was a loud explosion followed causing the building to shake terribly. Only then did Zero and Shi Jia finally looked worried. Countless thoughts raced through their minds and no matter how hard they tried they couldn't help but feel they were the targets of whoever is attacking.
While Zero considered this as an attack from the twin masters of the god sect from the sovereign federation. He began considering how these people managed to find out that he had been separated from his team and security. Even though the fight between him and Shi Jia should have spread across the nation, probably reaching the ears of the sovereign federation, Zero didn't think they would act so fast.
At least, he didn't expect them to know he was placed in a public hospital by the government.
Meanwhile, Shi Jia's chain of thoughts was a bit different. He could tell this was an attempt from the martial arts community for losing to Zero. He had always been on their bad side and since these people had muscles for brains they barely thought things through. Striking first before thinking.
Did they really think the liberation union would let them go unpunished for assassinating a disaster realm potential candidate?
Impossible!
Unless these two are sure that there is someone else in this building way more important than them, they refused to let their guards down.
At this moment, the problem isn't about facing the enemy, these two have trained most of their lives for moments like this so they weren't really panicking. The real problem is that none of them was fit for combat! After their battle, both youths were left exhausted and drained. Even if they should fight now, they won't be able to display fifty percent of their true strength, leaving them in a very bad spot!
They could always rely on the security provided by the nation, sit and silently pray that whoever is watching them from that camera, is strong enough to protect them from all their enemies, but this too wasn't even an option.
These two had trained themselves from the very beginning never to rely on someone else and even if they chose to rely on whoever the nation sent to watch over them, it still didn't mean shit. The fact that these people chose to attack even though they know a high ranked guardian would be sent to protect them means whoever is attacking is quite confident that he or she can succeed.
Buzz!
Buzz!!
Buzz!!!
It didn't take long before the alarm turned on and loud siren sounds followed by constant flashes of red light prevailed in every part of the hospital, making the atmosphere more chaotic than it was. Gunshots could be heard and screams could be heard. It was obvious the battle had begun, leaving these two with little or no time to prepare.
"Hehehehe! I guess our luck is really bad" Zero chuckled.
"Yep… who would have thought something like this would happen right after our battle… It's safe to assume they are after you or me" Shi Jia replied lazily.
"True… at this certain point in life we have created more foes than friends… it's only natural for these people to wait for such an opportunity to arrive" Zero replied.
"I guess so… So what's your plan?" Shi Jia asked.
Hearing this, Zero slowly laid down on his bed again staring at the window absentmindedly while thinking. At this moment, choosing the next course of action would determine whether they would live or die! While they could just stay in the room and wait for whoever is assigned to watch over them to appear and save them, the chances of that happening are very low and Zero was aware of that. He knew the dangers of leaving this room and even without moving a muscle, he could already tell that this building is surrounded. The moment they are found by just one assassin, it won't be long before more of them charge into this room.
"This is no different from suicide but I suggest we move… we can't rely on the government…. We have to find a way to protect ourselves and escape this place as well." Zero said with a straight face.
