New Skill

Right as he woke up, still early in the morning, Vali quickly cleans himself up. Although Vali craved for a bath, due to the nature of the environment in Svartalfheim, water is exceedingly scarce. As such he couldn't afford to waste water by bathing. Though he could use his own powers to help him bath, from his experience, he decided to not use it.

After he had cleaned himself, Vali went and ate some breakfast. But, before he went to train himself, he did some exercises to warm up his body.

Entering the armory, Vali picked and carried out one of every bladed weapon such as axes, swords, daggers, etc. that are available.

Standing in a clearing near the encampment with the weapons in his hands, Vali then threw all the weapons in succession up in the air as he activated his Kenbunshoku Haki to protect himself from any kind of accident. He had done this to see and gauge the limit of the skill.

After he had thrown the weapon up in the air, due to gravity, the weapons immediately fell back down towards Vali.

Activating his newly obtained ability, Vali stopped all the weapons in mid-air about a meter away from him.

With this successful experiment, Vali then slowly control the weapons within his one-meter radius domain as he shot them up in the sky again. He deactivated his Kenbunshoku Haki as he knew that there is no danger.

Since this is a new skill, Vali wanted to be proficient in utilising it before he had to participate in another battle.

Not only that, he wanted to see if he could increase the radius of the skill through constant practising without levelling it up.

As Vali had done his practising close to the encampment, he had caught the attention of several people.

Though Vali could have gone farther away from the camp, since there is a possibility of meeting unnecessary problems during his training, he did not go far. Also, as he and all the other warriors are restricted from straying far away from the camp without a permission, Vali had no other choice but to practice close to it.

After Vali had trained himself for over an hour, Vitra too had awakened from his drunken slumber and slowly walked out of the tent. As Vitra stood outside, he lifted both of his hands up in the air to stretch his body as he yawns.

Noticing the huge crowd not far away from the camp, Vitra immediately approached.

"What is going on here?" Vitra asked one of the warriors in the crowd.

"Vali, the King's son is doing some kind of trick." Quickly replied the warrior.

"What trick are you talking about?" Said Vitra as he went and swims through the crowd.

Seeing that Vali is standing below several weapons that are up in the air, Vitra instinctively dashed forward.

Phuah

Vitra dives right at Vali and pushes him away from the falling weapons.

Clank!

The weapons immediately hit the ground as they are out of the range of Vali's domain.

"Are you hurt?" Said Vitra with his hands on the shoulder of Vali who is laying on the ground.

Ptui

Spitting out some of the gravel and dust that got into his mouth, Vali squints his eyes and asked, "What?"

"I said, are you hurt?" Enunciating each and every word, Vitra asked.

The crowd continues to watch as the scene unfold.

"I'm fine. Can you stop pushing me to the ground?" replied Vali.

Hearing this, Vitra quickly removes his hands.

"Why did you suddenly dive at me like that?" raising his brows, Vali asked Vitra.

"All of those axes and swords are about to fall right at you. How could I not push you away?" concerning said Vitra.

"I was training myself." Vali sighed.

"What? What kind of training is that?" said Vitra as he widens his eyes. Then he continued, "Are you some kind of masochist?"

"Of course not." quickly retorted Vali.

"Recently, I learned a new skill. I was training myself." Vali continued.

" Oh.. so that's why." Said Vitra as he glances away due to embarrassment for what he had done.

Then, Vitra turned to the crowd as he waves his hand, "Show's over, leave."

As Vitra kept on insisting, the crowd finally disperse and leave the place.

With the crowd leaving the place, only Vali and Vitra are left.

Scratching his head, Vitra asked, "What exactly happened last night?"

" Do you really want to know?" Replied Vali.

" Of course." Vitra insisted.

" If you say so." Then Vali told Vitra everything about his drunken stupor.

Hearing what Vali said, Vitra suddenly speak out, " Wait wait wait, I challenged you to a fight? "

" Yes." Sternly replied Vali.

" Then did we fight?" Curiously asked Vitra.

With a snort, Vali replied, " If we have fought, do you think you will still be able to walk given that you are extremely drunk last night."

" Just because you possess some tricks, don't think you are a hotshot." Said Vitra.

" I am not drunk right now. If you are confident in your strength let's fight. I will not use my weapon and you will not use your tricks. " Smirks Vitra.

" Uh.. " Vali stopped as he pondered for a second, " Sure, where do you want to fight? "

" There's nobody around so, why don't we fight here?" Said Vitra.

Though Vali knew that Vitra is provoking him, he chooses to fight with Vitra. He had not done this due to pride.

As Vali thought about it, even during the five-year training, he had rarely fought without using his skills. So, he wanted to test out his actual strength without getting supplemented by his skills. Though he was sure that he will lose, with this strong sparring partner, Vali deduced that he would still gain a lot.

" Wait, if we are going to fight here. Let me clean up the place." Said Vali as he started to pick up the weapons from the ground. Then, Vali put all the weapons in a distance.

Vali quickly forms a real dagger using his energy and say, " I will throw this blade and as soon as it hits the ground, we will begin our fight. "

" Okay. " Quickly replied Vitra.

Then Vali immediately threw the dagger up in the air. As soon as the dagger hit the ground, the two of them rush towards each other.

Boom!

Vali's and Vitra's right fist met each other. Then, Vali begin to slide backwards due to the force of Vitra's punch.

Because of the extremely higher power level of Vitra and their enormous difference in power level, even though Vali possess a logia body that could protect him from harm inflicted by anyone under 10,000 power level, the bone in his wrist started fracturing. Even his the two bones in his arm, radius and ulna are put under a lot of stress.

Before his passive regeneration could heal his bones to be useable, Vali saw Vitra charging right at him like a raging bull.

Vali knew he could not risk getting his other arm fractured, so, he reluctantly coated his left arm with Bushoshoku Haki and send out a punch before Vitra could attack him.

Vitra quickly blocks the punch, he then sends out a kick towards Vali. Noticing the incoming attack, lifted his leg coated with Haki and block Vitra's kick.

Bang!

Vali and Vitra exchange several blows between them.

Though Vali knew that using Haki could possibly reduce the gain he is going to receive, he is completely sure that if the fight ended in an instant, his loss would be greater. As such, Vali could not afford to lose his limbs during the fight. He had to drag it out as long as possible if he wanted to gain more. This effect is only possible because Vitra is extremely stronger than him, if not, no matter how long the fight would be, Vali would still gain the same.

As the fight goes on, even with his passive regeneration, Bushoshoku Haki and passive energy absorption supplementing him, Vali is drained of his energy.

Kneeling and panting on the ground, Vali lifted his right hand and say, "Stop Stop. I admit defeat."

Hearing this, Vitra who is charging towards Vali immediately stop.

While Vitra slowly walks towards Vali, Vali had already stood up from the ground. With a huge smile on his face, Vitra said, " Let do this every day. "

" Sure." Vali pants and breathe heavily as he replied.

" You are really strong. How old are you again? " Asked Vitra.

" 16 years old. " replied Vali as he keeps on panting.

" 16 years old. " Vitra shouted as he is extremely surprised. Then he continued, " If you are really 16, shouldn't you still be in Asgard? And how did you even receive the low-rank warrior certificate? "

" My father. " Vali replied with only this, as he is extremely tired, he wanted a moment to catch his breath.

" I almost forgot. Hehe.. " Said Vitra.

" I am already 2500 years old and you, a 16-year-old child could fight evenly with me and match my strength. " Vitra complimented Vali.

" Did King Odin fed you with the golden apples every day? " Curiously asked Vitra.

" No, I have only eaten two. " Replied Vali. As some time had passed since the fight had ended, Vali now has a bit more energy than before.

" Wow, you are awesome... " Said Vitra as hugs Vali and shake him sideways.

" Ca.. can you let me go? You are killing me. " Vali said as he is still exhausted and is hugged by the freakishly strong Vitra.

" Oh... Sorry. " immediately dropping Vali to the ground, Vitra apologized.

After a short pause, Vitra then asked, " What are you going to do today?"

" I was training the new skill I learned before you interrupted me. " Replied Vali.

" Oh... Maybe I can help you with your training. " Said Vitra.

" How so? Are you talking about you throwing the weapons at me? " Asked Vali.

" Why would I throw weapons at you? I was thinking about me drinking and cheering you on as you train. " Said Vitra.

Hearing this, Vali face palmed himself and thought, " How dumb could this person get? "

While Vali is thinking this, Vitra as he saw Vali said, " Oh... You wanted someone strong to throw the weapons at you. With our fight, it is obvious that I am stronger than you. Hehehe "

" Anyways, go get the weapons and throw them at me. "Said Vali.

Hearing this, Vitra quickly retrieved the weapons. And with a huge axe in his hand, Vitra said, " I'm throwing. Be ready. "

Whoosh!

Vitra, with all of his strength, threw the axe at Vali. Due to the amount of force behind the throw, Vali could only stop the axe about half a meter away from him.

Bang!

Vali then sent back the axe. It landed right beside Vitra.

" Hey, you almost hit me." Vitra yelled.

" If I wanted the axe to hit you, you would have already been struck by it. " replied Vali. Then he continued, " Stop dawdling around and throw another one at me. "

Hearing this Vitra quickly threw a dagger at Vali, like the previous time, Vali had stopped it using his domain.

" Another."

.....

....

...

Vali and Vitra continued this cycle till sunset.

As they finished their training they went back to their tent.

" Today was fun. Let's keep training like this every day. " Said Vitra.

" Are you sure? " Asked Vali.

" Of course. There is almost nobody I could spar and train with amongst the people in our legion before you came. " Replied Vitra.

" That's good. I am in need of a training partner too. " Replied Vali.

As the two kept on talking, they have arrived at their tent. They immediately went to eat dinner.

After they both ate, the two of them went their separate ways to rest for the night.
