Medical report

We drove through the highway. My eyes were closed but not completely as the light rays emanating from the street lamps passed through the slits in my eyelids.

"Amanda don't worry you are going to be alright" Mr Nevel with panic in his voice but yet still tried to reaffirm me.

He had his right hand extended backwards holding mine through the gap between the two front seats all the while alternating his line of sight from me to the road and then from the road and back to me, continuously.

He did this as we drove all the way to the hospital. The drive was fast and straight forward because the road was empty and free of other drivers.

We came in with an abrupt stop, Mr Nevel parked the car haphazardly on the driveway next to an ambulance van with the siren still on blaring.

Weee woooo weee wooo...

He rushed out the car forgetting to close the driver seat door. Ran to the front of the ambulance van but no one was there, ran to the back which was left open but also no one was there.

He managed to find a stretcher in the van. He grabbed the handle and pulled it out, setting it properly and making sure that it was sturdy. Not sure if it was anxiety or the panicking making him not to think logically but it would have been more efficient and time saving to carry me into the hospital in his arms.

With the stretcher set Mr Nevel opened the backseat door and carried me out gently then placed me on the stretcher supporting my head as he drops me.

Just as he sets me down the hospital doors opens and two paramedics came walking through having a friendly discussion and sharing a couple laughs. Paramedic Mark Favour and George Joseph as written on their name tags.

"I never expected that my last shift of the day would end with such a hilarious one" says Mark

"I know right" George replies with a laugh

"I mean this guy tries to commit suicide by slitting his wrist then sees the blood and gets squeamish, becomes woozy and passes out on his kitchen floor" says George

"Luckily for him his Dot Log chip recorded everything then alerted the GHA and then us"

"Yeah what a lucky and unlucky bast... Hey look at that, what's going on over there?" Mark says pointing at the van

"Hey... Hey dude what the hell you think you are doing with our stretcher!" they started moving towards us at jogging pace.

Mr Nevel looked over his shoulder to see both men running towards him. They got to our position and saw me on the stretcher.

"What the?" Mark's first response

"Thank God, please we need help, this is my daughter and she needs serious medical attention"

"Why the hell are you wasting time here for, common lets rush her inside to see a doctor" Mark and George went around and got to the two ends of the stretcher and started rushing for the hospital, Mark pushing the stretcher from behind and George pulling from the front and Mr Nevel holding my hand from the side.

Got to the doors and slammed it open, nurses who were busy with something else dropped their current activity and joined along trying to assist the paramedics. A doctor who was filling a notepad on the hallway came and they stopped.

She took out the stethoscope from around her neck, put the earpieces in her ears, raised the diaphragm to her mouth and exhaled on it twice. She rubbed it against her sleeve drying off the moisture then placed it on my chest.

Doctor Bright Miracle, listened to my heartbeat using her wristwatch to measure the beats per second.

She removed the stethoscope and rolled it over her neck then reached into her right lab coat pocket and brought out a tiny black flashlight. She opened my eyelids then flashed the beam of light into it one eye at a time. After a couple of seconds she told the nurses to take me into one of the empty rooms then turned to Mr Nevel

"Mr...?"

"Nevel, Brian Nevel"

"OK Mr Nevel, tell me what happened"

"We were just at the dinning table trying to have dinner when suddenly she dropped to the floor and started to spasm uncontrollably"

"Spasm? OK" "nurse!" She called a nurse over

"Yes Doctor Bright"

"Note this down, patient, young female of..."

"How old is she?"

"Ten years doc"

"And how long did the spasm last for?"

"About five minutes" replied Mr Nevel

"OK. Young female, ten years old, fell into an uncontrollable seizure which lasted for five minutes. Got it?

"Yes, got it doctor"

"That will be all, take Mr Nevel to the counter and fill the report then come back and tell them to prep the MRI room for me. I want to know what's going on in there"

Mr Nevel filled the report and went to the waiting room, meanwhile i was brought to the MRI room and kept close to the MRI machine

"Nurse, get me that scanner over there"

The nurse went over and brought a small hand held scanner with her and gave it to doctor Bright who used it to scan around my head area, locating the position of my Dot Log chip which was around my neck below my ear then marked it with a marker pen.

She pulled out a cartridge like shaped item from the bottom of the handle then gave back the scanner to the nurse

"Um doctor, what are you going to do with that?"

"Nurse Patricia, was it?"

"Yes doctor"

"Have you gotten your Dot Log chips implants yet?"

"No doctor, not yet, why?"

"Loaded question, what would happen if you have something metallic near the MRI when its turned on?"

"It will get sucked in by the shear magnetic force of the MRI doctor" replied the nurse

"Good then answer me this, what would happen if said magnetic item was implanted say around your neck?"

"It would...Um... It would get sucked out by the MRI" said the nurse

"In a violent manner at that, damaging some nerves and blood vessels on its way out and if not treated swiftly the patient could die. Never forget that" says doctor Bright

"Sorry doctor"

"Yes... As for your earlier question what this is is an EMFO, Electromagnetic Field Obstructor specifically made by the GHA for these types of situation. On getting within 5mm of an implanted Dot Log chip it creates a field around the chip which counteracts any incoming electromagnetic field lines and preventing the dislodging of the chip"

"Ooh, OK doctor"

"So is that all or do you have anything more that you would like to ask... No? Then lets get on with our work"

Doctor Bright placed the EMFO on the mark she made on my neck then she turned it on. I was put into the MRI while the nurse returned the scanner to a safe location out of reach from the electromagnetic force of attraction.

They turned on the machine. Doctor Bright walked over to the monitors to look at my neuroimaging all the while i was still unconscious.

The next time i regained consciousness was the following day in the afternoon. I woke up to see Mr Nevel sleeping on a chair.

"Mr Nev...Umm dad, where am I?" Mr Nevel woke up with the sound of Amanda's voice

"Amanda?" He murmured

I looked around

"Am i in the hospital? Why am i in the hospital, what happened to me?" I was lackluster but tried to panic

"Calm down Amanda, everything's going to be OK, you had a seizure at the dinner table and lost consciousness, i brought you here to get checked" he leaned in closer to the bed i was on

"Lost consciousness? Wait what do you mean? How long was i out?" i looked Mr Nevel straight to the eyes earnestly

"It has been less that a day, eighteen hours to be precise"

"Eighteen hours? Damn" i whispered to myself

The doors opened and the doctor came inside

"Hello Amanda, I'm doctor Bright Miracle. You don't know me but we met while you were still unconscious "

"Ooh, is that right, OK "

"Yes, so how is your head feeling, any pain or headache?"

"Not at the moment, no"

She smiled "you are very mature for someone your age aren't you, other kids your age would not be able to answer me so calmly"

"You should get some rest, i have something to discuss with your dad" "Mr Nevel can we talk outside"

Both of them went outside the room then closed the door but not completely, i could still see parts of their body through the door but their conversation was inaudible to me so i leaned back to get some rest

"Whats the result doc?"

"After i analyzed Amanda's brain scans i found something very peculiar. It appears your daughter has two sets of brainwaves each comprising of four brainwaves."

"What do you mean two sets of brainwaves, is that not normal?"

"Not in the least Mr Nevel, everyone only has four brainwaves but in the case of your daughter one set of brainwaves is dormant and it was hard seeing it on the scans but its definitely there"

"OK, so what does that mean doctor"

"It would have been nothing to make mention of but the active brainwaves are sending signals to underdeveloped regions of her brain which is causing her headaches and another problem is the dormant set of brainwaves, it is trying to become active and interfering with the other set which in turn causes the seizures"

Mr Nevel was befuddled and wide eyed

"Isn't there anything that you can do doctor?"

Doctor Brian bent her head and exhaled sharply

"I'm sorry Mr Nevel but at our current medical capabilities there is nothing i could possibly do and if this continues I'm sorry to say but Amanda is going to become brain dead and fall into a vegetative state"
