Out side

She jogged out to the practice parking lot, dodging the last of the cars dropping off late kids, and parked cars. She was exited for teaching the new students how to set up their cases, and water jugs in a perfectly neat and organized manner. Usually this would only last a week before students start dropping their stuff in an unorganized manner on to the concrete, but that one week of satisfyingly straight and neat lines with all the logos on their water jugs facing the same way would be worth the extra effort on the first day. As she reached the 20 yard line on side 2 she set her stuff down and began to assemble her flute once again. The low reed section leader shuffled over to her and asked,

"Do you know if trumpets are on the back sideline this year?"

"I completely forgot about that especially with the band gaining so many members this year."

"With about 50 of them we might have to make them share the back sideline with colour guard and drumline."

Both girls chuckled as students began to make their way to the practice lot.

"They should be I remember one of the directors mentioning it during orientation."

"Ok, thanks and good luck girlie."

The flute section leader smiled at the retreating girl and turned to see a group of three timid looking girls approaching her.
