Hello

The flute section leader smiled brightly and excitedly said Hi to the small congregation of girls. They each respectively responded with a head nod or a meak hi. Others began walking up to their group. seeing this she hurried to give instructions on how to line up instruments and water jugs. She loudly asked for the girls to come closer and set their supplies on the floor. She chuckled when they set their flutes and jug down messily at their feet. She then restated her instructions.

" I meant place your supplies in a line behind mine, make sure to put your water jug on the right of your flute, have the band emblem facing the band tower, and place your case down so it opens away from the tears the field. Then stand by it so I can correct it if necessary."

As they followed her instructions she walked past them and toward another group of 5 and asked them to do the same only to the right of her instrument instead of behind. Some Junior flutes decided to start the third line and stood beside their set up so as to not confuse the freshman as to what to do. The section leader then returned to the first group and checked her set up, seeing that she was directly next to her own set up she didn't do anything wrong, then she moved to the next and her flute case wasn't parallel to the side line. She reached down and corrected it. Then she moved left and corrected the same problem. Then she asked for their names. She walked to her flute and jug to pick up the roster that she kept in a binder that was sitting under her flute. She quickly asked them to follow her to their spot where they will stand at check before the beginning of every practice, unless it is in a thunderstorm. She repeated the lengthy process with every group that came, however with the upper classmen she would more than often just tell them their spot seeing as they can read a field and find it some what easily.
