A Cold Memory Part 1

[Ahhh... Damn that hurts... Wait, where am I? Why am I speaking in my head? Why can't I speak? Athena? You there?] Jason wanted to panic but he didn't even feel a tinge of any emotion.

Jason woke up at the cold wind. The room from his past appeared as he sat up.

[Why am I here? Did I go back?]

An alarm suddenly sounded. The same loud sirens he used to hear during training came back and for a moment Jason was in a dazed state. He stood up and followed the lights leading to the training room.

The sound of hydraulics and gasoline filled Jason's senses as he walked endlessly in what seemed like a maze.

[Ehh? Is the training room far from my quarters?] Jason tried to remember but it failed to even spark. Finally after what seems like years Jason arrived in front of the door where the directing lights stop. Jason stands in front of the door...

[Well, here goes nothing...]

The door opens up to a cold and silent room. The colorful training mats made the cold, plain cement seem forgiving. The rack of different wood weaponry used for training were neatly placed on the right corner while the painting of some seems to stare into Jason's soul.

[That damn commander's portrait in the training room always gave me chills. Why am I here anyways?] Jason entered the room. The door behind him suddenly shut. Jason looked back then back to the field. A man he forgot from long ago appeared in front of him.

"Welcome trainee, how's the first day of training huh." the man spoke. The guy smiled a meaningful smile as he stared at Jason.

[Oh shit, Old Man Ricardo. This guy gave me nightmares. Someone save me...]

"Hey stop bullying our trainees, you shouldn't be that rough towards them.

Jason stared surprised at the new arrival. [This woman... The Witch, Mitchelle Eisenhower... Why!] As the woman slowly walked forward towards Jason he instinctively walked backwards until he felt the cold door at his back. The woman raised his hand. Jason once again moved by instinct and tried to dodge.

The placed suddenly changed.

[Ehhh? What is happening?] Jason was standing at the top of a cliff. Below was an ongoing battle.

[This....] Jason remembered this battle. This was his first battle, he observed his former self struggling to even fight a simple Class 1 beast. He saw determination and the will to overcome, something he has been proud of even until now. Jason looked around and noticed a lot of former faces, most of which died. Jason tried to walk forward to help but his feet remained stuck.

A bright flash suddenly filled the sky and Jason found himself at the entrance of the cave. Jason looked at his former self who was sleeping near the entrance of the cave. Jason tried to remember when this was but failed.

[When was this?] A woman came out of the cave. A huge healed wound could be seen at her shoulders. Jason, for a moment gasped as he began recalling this woman.
