Fen Silvervine (1)

Logan stumbled as he landed on Beacon's grounds, those that saw him looked on in worry. Those that knew how much Logan went off on missions and taught, wondered if he had any real time to relax. They watched as Logan stumble his way towards Ozpin's office, worried about him.

.

Logan could feel the stares as he walked and stumbled his way along. Tired, drained, sleep-deprived, hungry, and wishing for the sweet embracing darkness of sleep; Logan could care less of how he looked. There was still too much to do and he had too little time. And worse yet, his thoughts were bouncing around at insane speeds, never staying on one thing longer than a second.

.

Logan sighed as he was greeted with the mission screen from his [System]. Having already completed that mission the day before. Logan was just too tired to care and left it to later to see what he got as he dismissed the screen from his face with a mental command. Right now, he had more important and annoying things to deal with. Like explaining to Salem and Ozpin that what was summoned was the Brother Gods avatars that then went insane with power, not unlike the gods themselves.

.

After that, all he wanted to do was to have a nice, quiet meal and then sleep while cuddling his wife. At the thought of his wife, a small smile crept onto his lips at the possibility of what their child would look like. They both agreed to not know if their child would be a boy or girl and prepare for either once they were born. They even managed to get Salem to swear not to tell either of them either. They wanted it to be a complete surprise. So far, they have the money set away for the child and have picked out two names, one boy and one girl. [A/N: I need names!]

.

Soon after those thoughts bounced away, Logan sighed as he still had to deal with a report before anything else. Heading towards the elevator that connects to Ozpin's office, Logan met up with Doctor Oobleck. Oobleck and Logan didn't really talk that much, but as two grown adults with a dependence on coffee, they could understand each other on an instinctual level. Not even a few seconds after making eye contact, Oobleck disappeared and reappeared with a cup of coffee that he handed off to Logan. Logan gave a subtle nod to Oobleck as the two continued on with what they were doing.

.

Not long after meeting Oobleck, Port's wife stopped him and hand Logan a piece of apple pie. Logan didn't question how she knew he needed something to eat, most likely the Doctor's doing, and accepted it gratefully. She kissed his forehead, she treated all the staff as family, and left soon after. Logan just smiled slightly as ate and drank what he was given as he made his way to Ozpin's office; discarding the empty paper plate and cup into a trashcan on the way. Feeling slightly better than he was before, Logan had just arrived at the elevator when he met Glynda who was waiting for him.

.

Logan's breath hitched at the very slight of her. Her hair seemed to glow in the light and the smile she gave him melted any worrying thoughts that ran wild in his head. Logan's lips parted into a full-blown smile as he walked up to her and kissed her lips. Logan felt himself melt into Glynda's arms when she wrapped them around his shoulders. To Logan, this is what he's willing to fight for. To just be able to be next to Glynda even if he has to walk through hell to do so.

.

Glynda: "Feeling better?" Glynda asked as the two parted for air.

Logan: "Immensely." Logan told her as they touched foreheads. "Just being able to kiss you makes me feel lighter no matter what."

Glynda: "Cheeseball." Glynda giggled. "But, I can't blame you. It's the same for me."

Logan: "How are you holding up?" Logan asked as he gently laid his hand on her swollen belly. "You feeling okay?"

Glynda: "I'm feeling fine." Glynda assured him. "I had a check-up earlier today and they had me do basic exercises to keep myself in shape."

Logan: "And our baby?"

Glynda: "Kicking like a mule and giving me stomach pains." She laughed. "The doctors said he or she will be very active when they're born."

Logan: "That's good." Logan spoke as he embraced her. "You want to come with me? All I got to do is report to Ozpin and Salem about what I found then I'm all yours."

Glynda: "Sounds like a plan, I was coming here for tea with Salem anyway." She spoke as she turned and called the elevator. "Lately, I've been craving tea. So this helps with that and just being around Salem keeps me calm should something happen."

Logan: "I can understand that." Logan said as he hugged her and waited. "Even with all my strength, be it magic or something else, if your water broke suddenly, I rather have Salem nearby cause I'm pretty sure I would start running around like a chicken with its head cut off."

Glynda: "Well, you ARE a chicken." Glynda spoke without any heat in her voice.

Logan: "Rude." Logan faked cried, a smile upon his lips.

Glynda: "Then again, you are the bird I fell in love with." Glynda said.

Logan: "And you're the witch that cast a spell on me." Logan responded.

.

The two laughed at each other as those who watched or heard either grumbled in annoyance or sulked in pain at their open display of affection. One even vomited a rainbow at the sugery scene that they gave off.

.

A quick elevator ride later.

.

Logan and Glynda stepped out of the elevator and into Ozpin's office. Off to one side was Salem with fresh tea waiting for Glynda and the other had Qrow and a tall black woman with silver hair talking. Ozpin himself was looking out his massive window on his scroll, taking a call. Logan couldn't get a good look at the black woman since Qrow was standing in front of her, but he didn't care, Glynda was his priority right now.

.

Salem: "Glynda, Logan!" Salem lightly exclaimed as she set out a few teacups. "Good to see you two in good health."

Glynda: "You as well." Glynda said as Logan helped her sit down.

Logan: "Well, I'm back from that recon you wanted." Logan said, not saying anything about the Brother Gods just yet.

Salem: "Thank you." Salem spoke as she set out a teacup for Logan. "Did you find anything out of the ordinary while you were out there?"

Glynda: "Salem," Glynda sighed, "He just got back. I highly doubt he's in any mood to go over it." She spoke up for Logan.

Logan: "It's true." Logan said as he sipped his tea. "I did meet with the good Doctor and Port's wife before I got here. They basically stopped me and made sure I was at least okay before letting me go. But, yes. I did find a few things odd." Logan said while his eyes darted over to where Qrow and the mystery woman were. "And since Ozpin wants to hear it as well, I rather not say it twice.

Salem: "I understand, take this time to rest for now." Salem said softly as she saw his eye movement. "You've more than earned it. But did you see any interesting sights?"

Logan: "Hmm, there wasn't much. An old, ruined castle that was crumbling down." Logan spoke after a moment of thought. "I also saw a few Grimm trying to take the Alpha position of their pack and a small farming village."

Salem: "I'm looking forward to your report then." Salem told Logan as Ozpin got off his scroll.

.

Ozpin: "I apologize about that, Ironwood called for advice for something I never expected." Ozpin said as Logan made his way over to him. "Logan, good you're back. About that summoning that Salem sensed."

Logan: "Ozpin, are you sure it's okay to talk about that in present company?" Logan asked while gesturing his head over to the black woman.

Ozpin: "She's fine." Ozpin spoke. "After Lionheart, those that immediately know have been put under a binding spell contract. They can't tell anyone anything unless I or Salem allows it personally under very strict conditions. Even then, those that are told are put under the same contract."

Logan: "And mind-reading or truth-serum?" Logan asked.

Ozpin: "Protected against both." He assured. "Now, what was summoned?"

Logan: "Well, I got good news, bad news, and worse news." Logan said heavily.

Ozpin: "I as well have bad news." Ozpin spoke up. "I'll start first. The Maiden in Atlas has passed due to old age, however, we are unsure as to where her powers have transferred."

Logan: "Then what I bring, isn't any better." Logan spoke heavily, everyone that was in the room could feel the pressure his words had.

Ozpin: "Go ahead." Ozpin urged him.

.

Logan: "First off, the Grimm King is no more. As in, he's gone, for good." Logan answered Ozpin's urge. "And that's the good news..."

Salem: "If that's the good news, I fear what the other two bring." Sale spoke up after no one said anything after Logan's announcement.

Logan: "It gets worse. The summoning brought the Brother Gods' avatars to Remnant." Logan spoke up and he could see a few get bright-eyed. "That's the bad news."

Qrow: "How's that bad news?" Qrow shouted at Logan. "If we can talk to them, we may see an end to this pointless war with the Grimm!"

Glynda: "Dear?" Glynda whispered when she saw the shadow over his face.

Logan: "...They won't be of any help." Logan told them. "They were enslaving innocents and forcing them to do their bidding. Talking did nothing, I was forced to fight them."

.

Silence fell inside the office. No one spoke a word or even moved. What Logan had just said was shocking to what they knew and believed. Logan then told them of what he found and experienced while keeping quiet about 02 and Magus.

.

Logan: "The worse news is that..." Logan spoke up after a while. "From my interaction with the two avatars, I believe the Brother Gods have lost their sanity after they left Remnant." Then he shook his head. "No, it was more like they became unstable. But what was odd was, while the two avatars were here, I felt them pulling magic from something. All the mana they used in their fight with me, didn't come from their avatars. Or from the air around them."

Salem: "Like it came from an external source? One that was fueling them?" Salem spoke up after regaining her wits.

Logan: "Yes, just like that." Logan answered her. "It was like they were pulling the mana from an external battery. I couldn't really tell where from, but it came from the directions of the four KIngdoms."

Ozpin: "Then that would explain why you suddenly felt a mass of mana leave from the school." Ozpin said to Salem.

Qrow: "The only thing that comes to mind when dealing with anything from that era, would be the relics." Qrow thought aloud. "Could it be that the relics are storing mana for their abilities?"

Salem: "It could be a possibility." Salem added her thoughts on the matter. "I haven't been able to truly study them since they seemed to stop anyone but the Maidens from even holding them."

.

Fen: "While I was just introduced to this all not that long ago, I feel like I have the most to worry about." Fen Silvervine spoke up, the silver-haired black woman, but Logan didn't turn away from Ozpin. "Magic, Gods, the Maidens; any normal person would lose their mind over this. But, what are the chances that the Brother Gods never intended to see Remnant as nothing more than just some playground that they could do whatever they wanted with? That is my worry."

Ozpin: "That's... a very worrying thought." Ozpin said as he sat down in his chair. "If that is the case, then we need to do our absolute best not to have them ever come back. Just the thought is enough for me to fear for the future."

Salem: "I agree." Salem shuttered. "Unstable Gods running rampant. A very unsettling thought."

.

They all grew quiet at the thought of what the Brother Gods would do if they came back in full force. Unaware that Logan knew that they couldn't without an extremely harsh backlash from other Gods. The avatars they brought forth through the King of Grimm were their chance at circumventing their punishment. But, with them gone, Logan had brought them a good amount f time to figure out what to do next.

.

Ozpin: "I believe it's for the best to give these morbid thoughts a chance to fade before we go on any further." Ozpin sighed as he broke the scared and tense atmosphere. "I was going to do it eventually, but that talk overshadowed it," Ozpin said as he clapped to show his point. "Logan, I would like you to meet the new Headmistress of Mistral Academy, Fen Silvervine. Miss Silvervine, this is Logan Scarlett."

.

Logan turned around to finally meet the new headmistress, but his eyes landed on something that made him have only one thought...

.

Logan: '...Massive...'
