Leon sighed in relief, "I'm free now, that beast that captured the centipede should either be busy fighting the struggling centipede or full after eating it. So I'm finally free."
"Now I just need to figure out a way to get of this train I've jumped on."
The Sandy winds were never ending. They were created by a beast and would continue to move around the desert taking everything with them. Leon would be carried on until he was either killed by another beast stuck in the winds or by the objects flying around.
"Just to get you i had to go through so much trouble." Leon looked at the scorpion held tightly to his chest. It didn't know what was happening as it was effected by the slaughter qi.
Leon moved started changing his position. He moved the scorpion into one arm and freed his right arm. He then used his slaughter qi on his feet to jump on a boulder coming at him. He used it to move downwards.
As he did this he saw a palm tree blowing in the wind. It was almost touching the ground because of the winds but it's leaves were all still attached.
Leon sighed, it was an obvious trap, but it was better then forever being stuck in these winds.
Leon formed a red string in his right hand and launched it at the tree. It tied around and got a grip. Leon then pulled himself closer until he was able to hug the tree with the scorpion between him and the tree.
The winds continued to past as Leon held the tree with his life. But as he did this he made sure to focus his slaughter qi in his feet, the moment the sandstorm passed he had to run for his life.
The sand passed until it was much clearer. Leon jumped back, launching him self away from the tree. From underground a worm shot out. Its launched itself 20 meters high. with its large circular mouth open, the palm tree was its tongue. It looked towards Leon and saw that it had failed. It wouldn't let pray go.
Leon was already running with the scorpion. He ran with everything he could muster. He activated the
Leon saw another palm tree he ran to it. He used as a step and launched him self to the right. Another similar worm broke out it clashed with the worm chasing after Leon.
In this time Leon broke a way form the two and finally escaped. He finally calmed down and sat next to a boulder. He looked around and didn't know where he ended up.
"I'm lost."
He naturally had the whole desert mapped in his head but with no land marks and just sand as far as he could see how was he suppose to know where he was?
"First I need to deal with you."
Leon had lost his sword in the Sandy winds so he formed a blade of slaughter on his hand and killed the scorpion in a swoop.
He covered his fingers with its blood after taking off his shirt. He saw his sand caked, covered in cuts and bony skin. He could even count the number of ribs.
Leon started drawing the altered rune he had memorized on the left of his chest where his heart was.
He drew a circle and filled it with wierd lettering and deign. He then took out a line and extended it to the inside of his left elbow, over here he drew another design. He then continued it even further to the palm of his left hand and drew another rune filled circle.
The extension were the solution Leon came up to absorb more energy. Leon put his left hand on the corpse of the scorpion. Energy was absorbed and started pumping into the runes. They started filling up all the way to the rune on his heart.
The energy filled lines started to burn. Leon felt the immense pain, as if someone was branding a design on him using a soldiering iron.
The tunes still weren't 100% efficient and energy was let out into the surrounding and his body. The energy in the surrounding dissipated while the energy in his body was quickly absorbed.
His body had long been in need for elemental energy. It sucked the energy in like a drought fills land absorbs water. Eventually all the energy had been absorbed.
The runes also engraved on his body like a tattoo. Leon looked at the long rune going from his chest to his hand. He needed to hide some way.
But now he was finally done with what he came for. The rune had absorbed about 60% of the scorpion. All of the energy was dense and of the Fire element. It was all held inside the runes and was slowly permeating into his body. Just sitting dowm for a minute made him feel stronger.
Leon got up and punched out. All his muscles hurt but a soft energy came and quickly recovered them. Leon nodded, he had grown stronger. Now he just needed to train and use up all the energy in runes for it to grow even stronger.
"Now, where am I?"
Leon wore his torn shirt again and looked at what he had. Other then his clothes and shoes he had nothing. His bag with his Clan uniform had been left in the cave. The sword had been lost and the knives were only single use objects
Leon started walking in a random direction hoping to find something to help him find the way.
After walking for who knows long, the sun finally set and the desert turned dark.
There was still the scorching heat, but not coming From the ground. But the worst part was that most beast were nocturnal, So now he had a higher chance of running into beasts.
...
Scene 14
Leon wAlked tired and dehydrated. As a mortal he had to continuously eat and drink water. Summoners were able to use elemental energy as away to make up for energy.
Leon saw a shadow approaching its, body running moving at incredible speeds. It jumped for Leon with a blade in its mouth.
Leon moved to the side. The world seemed to slow down. The blade in the beasts mouth left a line on the right of Leon's neck.
The world sped up again. Leon flipped and crouched as he slid back with his hand forward. He saw that beast that attacked him. It was a
For Leon who was tired, the last thing he needed was a beast that was agile and good at finishing targets.
The beast charged again. From the side of its mouth the blade glowed with green energy. It attacked again.
Leon used minimum energy to dodge. Because of this he couldn't completely dodge only making it so that wounds were surface level and nothing to deep.
His body was covered in more and more winds as he dodged. Leon was waiting for the perfect moment to attack. Wind wolves with their agility would be able to dodge a strike with his slaughter qi.
The wolf was relentless in its attack. It speed up this time aiming for Leon's leg.
Leon saw this and knew it was his time. The wolf attacked Leon dodged to the side. He stuck his foot down into the sand and turned. His left hand hit out and gently touched the wolves neck. A red line appeared around the wolf's neck.
Blood spurred out as the wolves head fell to the ground.
Leon sat down and started breathing heavily. The rune on his chest to his left hand activated. It provided energy and made his body stronger.
His body had grown stronger as more energy was absorbed. His body was at least 4 times as strong. Although it didn't mean much when before without slaughter qi his punches didn't even have any strength behind them.
Leon felt rested and got up. He started making his way again. He still didn't know where he was going.
Leon knew the areas surrounding the desert of desolation so if he could reach the deserts end he would be able to return. But if he actually had gone that far it would take a few days to get back.
He just hoped he could see something to tell him the way back.
As Leon thought this on front of him he saw two people fighting against a pack of beasts. They were completely surrounded by a pack of wolves. It should be the pack of wolf I just killed.
Leon watched he didn't bother helping.
...
The man, Andrew stood with the women and looked at the wolves attacking.
"No need to summon your beasts, I'll end this quick."
The woman nodded and took a step back. She trusted the man.
The man changed and a summoning circle appeared.
One of the circles had a white tiger jumped out, it's fur white and flowing in the night winds.
The tiger saw the wolves and stamped its leg. It's body glowed with a light blue energy. From the the sky lightning struck down around it. It hit all the wolves in the front.
The wolves hit died while the rest started running away.
The two then looked in Leon's direction.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" The tiger looked ready to attack.
Leon walked forward calmly he recognised who these people were. They were Pace's parents.
"Stay where you are! Answer my questions from their." Andrew said. He looked ready to attack. He saw how Leon looked like a kid covered in blood and torn clothes. No kid would travel in the desert of desolation alone. So he had to some type of beast.
Leon nodded internally, "They can't recognise me. I just need to find the direction of the town."
Leon put his hand up and said, "I was running away from someone and escaped into the desert of desolation. I heard their was a town that was safe and didn't reject strangers, I wanted to go there to rest for a few days. But I got lost, can you tell me which direction the town is in?"
Andrew looked at Tania and wondered what to say, Tania nodded and spoke, "We are heading to the town you just spoke off, I'd you want we can take you their."
Leon looked at them, he then saw the tiger and took a step back, "No, it's fine, can you just tell me the direction? I'll make it there myself."
Andrew nodded, "Fine, just head west and you'll reach their."
Leon looked behind and him and sighed, that was the direction he came from. So he had been walking further away from his goal.
"Thank you." Leon said as he turned and started walking.
Andrew had a confused face as he watched the small body walk away.
"Are we just going to let him go alone, he'll probably die along the away, especially with such injuries." Tania said.
"It was his decision to not come with us, also those red eyes were fierce and held strength. He isn't as simple as he seems, right Bai?"
The white tiger forward and nodded. It was like Leon had been looking down on them from moment he saw them. Like he was judging them like some type of higher being.
"Plus that weird rune he had engraved on Jo's clothes it held a lot energy. Tania could you tell what it was?"
"I couldn't see the whole rune but, It had the features of a rune that slowly made your body stronger. I have never seen one so complicated, then over that it was elegantly and masterfully drawn on. I can't even imagine the specifics of its effects it's clearly heaven defying."
Andrew was surprised. He also studied runes although not as in dept as his wife, to think that rune was strong.
"Let's go, we have to make it the town by tomorrow."
Andrew unsummoned the tiger. They both then started walking again in Leon's direction as well.
