Prologue

I opened my eyes and blinked a few times. I sense unfamiliarity, but I still cannot think straight about this feeling that makes me so uneasy. 

Who I am? Where am I? After the moment had passed, I got up from the bed and saw everything in a daze. I was in a single bed that was made from wood and a thin mattress. 

The smells of burning wood lingering and I saw a fireplace in the room. There are no memories in my head. 

I shake my head as hard as I can and hope that things will get back in place. And then I saw a piece of paper that crumbled at my hand.
 
“Dear Vierra, as you wish I erased your memory from your old life and granted you the cooking skills that will help you in this new world. And let the memory of your recipe from passed life remain. I Hope your new life will give you a better life. From me who cannot be named.”

I let out a heavy sigh. Is this some lame joke? There is a sling bag under the tiny table beside the bed. I found a diary with a name written in front of it. 

“Vierra Maverick”

World of Lost and Found

Everyone was smiling and laughing under the shade of the big tree enjoying their burger while listening to Greg tell the story about his experience as an adventurer in a short time.


"It is great to experience the outer world but at some point I don't want to wander for my whole life without solid purpose."


"But isn't it exciting to kill monsters and become strong?"


The five year old boy, Lorcan who only imagined the world from books was so immersed in Greg's story that he didn't understand why Greg suddenly stopped being an adventurer.


"No matter where we go, looking for job and getting paid for our service it left me empty space in myself where I want to do something that I can wholeheartedly served without wavering and swayed"


Ronan, who is more mature than Lorcan even though he was the younger one, seems to understand a bit.


Greg's cheek slightly red and he was embarrassed.


"It's hard to be a knight, since you should hold citizenship for a kingdom and serve their royalty. And... we didn't have any."


"I thought your village were part of the Ouranos Kingdom"


I looked at Lana who also shook her head denying my words.


"No…it's not only our village but whoever live outside the main gate were not part of any kingdom"


"You have to pay to become a citizen in Ouranos Kingdom, once you hold citizenship you would get a place to live and have a job inside the kingdom. Which inside the wall of the kingdom"


Hugo pointed at the main gate, the only way to get through from the high and thick wall.


Of all the kingdoms, Hugo only states Ouranos Kingdom.


"In this continent only Ouranos and Beastland had two thing. Safety guarantee from the monster and sufficient food to live"


'The golden fairy was sneakily watching for the burger'


Distracted by the red fairies who whisper to me, I stop from focusing on Hugo.


'Tell him to come, we made plenty and enough for everyone'


'He cannot leave the prince without permission'


I put four wrapped burgers inside a basket and asked Greg deliver it to Dylan, he will recognise Dylan since he saw us talk earlier.


"Greg, can you help me deliver this basket to my friend? The one I met earlier, he was at the main gate"


"Of course my lady, I will be back soon"


After half an hour, Mr Jusco finally got some time to rest and he closed his stall. 


"My lady, this smooth and flavour, savoury...is like…"


Mr. Jusco's tired and pale face was soon brightened after he took a bite at the burger.


"You could sell it and got a fortune for this food"


He cannot stop eating with a smile on his face. He was tired but half of his stall was already empty.


"You look so tired uncle, did you manage to make a lot of money?"


Ronan bite his third burger slowly this time. He just savored every bite with a satisfied look. 


"Should we sell this if your stall becomes empty?"


"I am quite tired, and planning to go home as soon I get enough to pay for my debt and of course to repay to my lady here"


"You don't have to worry that much, You could take your time"


There's no need for him to rush to pay us, my parents were rich.


"The tragedy made me realise that I was already too old to become a travelling merchant. I am planning to retire, meet my family and started a new life somewhere safe"


"My hometown was somewhere near the black lake. It becomes wider by every year and soon it will reach our village"


"The black water was poisonous for living things."
