The Frost Giants

Tønsberg, Norway, 965 CE,

It was in the middle of the winter night, in one of the watchtowers of the town, two guards were talking to each other as they kept a watchful eye for any bandits or wild animals,

"So, when are you going to propose to Maria?" asked one of the guards who had blond hair and blue eyes to the man standing beside him who had blue eyes and black hair,

"David, you know better than anyone that I do not want to get into a family life right now, besides, Maria is not in love with me, she just kind," the man said as David had a strange face before it changed into a serious one,

"Ruben, anyone can see clearly that the lass loves you dearly, even though she is the child of a noble, she still comes to speak with you daily, watches over your house when you are away hunting, keeps your clothes clean even though you insist on cleaning them yourself, goes everywhere you do when even when you are just going for some chores, it could not be any more clear that she loves you"

"David, even if I wanted to settle down, I cannot, as per the rules of the village, I still have to work for the village for another 5 years before I can be considered a village member and am allowed to settle in to it," Ruben said as David had a sneer on his face,

"Ruben Roseth, I have known you for the past twenty years ever since you arrived at this village looking for a home and had no memories, so believe me when I say this, the entire village had long since accepted you as one of our own no matter what you think of it, so there is nothing stopping you from settling down," he said as Ruben gave a sigh,

"Maybe you are right, I will think about it and talk to Maria about it," he said as David gave a grin, but the atmosphere was soon ruined by the sudden booms coming from the direction of the sea, both men immediately looked towards the origin of the sounds only to find strange blue giant men standing on frozen parts of the sea,

"SOUND THE BELL!!!!" David shouted as one of the guards immediately struck the village bells which awoke the people of the village and informed them of danger, but before the guards could so much as move, the giants suddenly used a strange device to freeze the entire village in ice,

It was also during this time that another boom resounded and in an explosion of rainbow colors, men dressed in armor came out and started fighting the blue giants,

The watchtower where Ruben and David were talking a few hours ago was also frozen in a thick layer of ice, but the ice statue that was once Ruben started to sizzle as if it was trying to contain lava, in a matter of seconds, the ice evaporated revealing Ruben who looked a lot younger than before, while he looked to be in his thirties before, he now looked as if he was in his twenties, but the biggest change was that his blue eyes now shined with an unnatural light and gave a cold feeling unlike before when they shone with kindness and strength,

He looked towards the next ice statue which was David and sighed in regret and sadness,

"I guess I couldn't stay hidden any longer, I should have known that I won't be allowed to live a normal life after the sins I have committed even if I seal away my powers and memories, thank you, David, for being my friend even if it was for a short time, goodbye," he mumbled as he slowly raised his arm towards the statue and released a pulse of invisible energy which immediately reduced the statue to atoms,

The moment he stood straight, his body was immediately enveloped in a brilliant light after which it was encased in strange armor, the armor covered his torso, arms legs, and head in green metal while his helmet completely enclosed his head and had a golden visor, every other part which was not covered in the metal was covered in a black material that looked very durable,(author notes: Mjolnir mark vii armor)

He started to slowly walk towards the village where he kept looking at the bodies that were encased in ice, the people he had lived alongside for twenty years while suppressing his memories and powers, soon he came upon the ruins of the wooden house that was his home,

With a heavy heart, he slowly walked into the house only to have his worst thoughts come to life,

In the living room of the house, an ice statue can be seen encasing a beautiful woman, she had deep black hair and black eyes, she wore clothes that looked as if they were tailored with great care, a signature of a noble house,

The moment Ruben looked at the dead body, he felt something he had not felt in a long time, rage and hatred, the kind of which not even the green armored man that he had once killed could hope to comprehend,

It was at this moment that the destroyer of worlds, Zex Skyler was reborn.

Odin was almost done driving the Frost Giants from the village of Humans that hey had just destroyed in their hope to conquer Midgard, he was saddened to see that innocent people had been killed because of Laufey and his kin,

It was during his contemplation that he failed to sense the storm that was about to come,

It happened so suddenly that no one even had the time to react, one moment, the Einherjar were fighting the Frost Giants, while in the next moment, an armored being suddenly appeared in the midst of the Frost Giants and started killing them in a brutal way,

Shots of gunfire resonated everywhere as the Asgardians watched in shock as the being slaughtered the giants when a giant got too close to the being, he would take out a strange blade from somewhere and cut it into two, when a giant got away from him and got some distance, he would shoot strange projectiles at the giant, reducing him to a pile of meat, when a giant tried to sneak up on him, he would display unnatural ability to sense and maneuver in such a way that the giant would end up being killed by his own kind when a giant got too close to him and used his physical power to suppress the being, the being would retaliate in kind and show physical power that even Odin himself had never seen,

Once the being was done, all that was left was but a mountain of corpses and rivers of blue blood,

For the first time ever, Odin had felt fear,

On this day, the legends of the destroyer began once more.
