Rowen reached a thick branch high in a tree beside a quarry sticking out of the forest.
It had been over an hour since he was running away without stopping to rest and he only stopped now, only after making sure he was no longer being followed.
Though apparently within a mountain, he had long realized that this whole place was like Tardis, small on the outside and big on the inside.
He was exhausted, dirty with dirt and sweat, and most importantly, hungry, but unfortunately he would have to wait for the next day, as apparently there is also a day and night cycle inside the dungeon and now it was around eight o'clock. night and the "sky" was covered with stars but no moon, just as the day was blue but no sun.
…
Rowen woke up the next morning needing a good massage and a great breakfast.
Oh, and almost from a hospital. Sleeping on a branch of a tree is more difficult and dangerous than television and novels say. He almost fell flat on his face.
But even with all the negative that was going on, Rowen stood up on the thick branch and looked around.
He felt nothing strange. No hair on his arms or ever rising, no sixth sense, nothing. It looked like he was alone in that area.
Without laziness, as it was one of the things he traded for power, Rowen became completely diligent. His determination had surfaced and now he was only thinking of surviving, and so he couldn't feel like a victim, as if the universe were against him.
He opened his skills window and decided to level the "Fireball" skill as much as he could with the remaining points, as it was his only efficient attack and he was in a forest, or at least much of that floor was a forest. . Fire could be very useful in this place.
The skill reached level 13, and now he could create a fireball of up to 800 degrees celsius.
His eyes fell on the quarry, much the same scenario in most Power Rangers seasons.
There were two things that looked like those living rocks from that Disney Queen's ice magic movie. They were alive and…
[You witnessed the act of copulation between two Trolls, mystical creatures who claim to protect the forests and their magic.]
[Luck increased +2.]
"…"
Rowen turned and teleported twenty yards away from that place without saying a word.
…
He covered almost 2 km just walking a "trail". The forest, he realized, at least in that part, was similar to the forests in Tarzan's cartoons and movies, so he thought it best to just walk rather than teleport, as he had to be careful and be able to get away quickly if something happens.
Her feet hurting, Rowen leaned against a tree and almost fell flat on her face. He was exhausted, dirty, with a few scratches and dried blood, and most importantly, hungry.
Her imagination was rolling wild: pizza, lasagna, x-burger, hot-dog, chocolate cake, pies, and many other things.
His eyes were closed and he was almost asleep. Now that he was standing, he was able to pay more attention to his surroundings and so was able to hear the sound of running water.
Forgetting to take care of the dangers around him, he found strength from where to run and ran through bushes and plants.
It came out in a kind of clearing. It was much brighter because of the lack of trees. There was a crystal clear river the width of a two-lane street.
He was unable to see where the river came from or where it ended, as the river sometimes made curves disappearing into the trees.
Rowen slid down the gravel and without thinking if it was drinkable or not, he dipped her hands in the water and washed them, then used her hands to drink from the crystal clear water.
While drinking water, he saw some fish swimming.
…
Rowen moaned with relief and satisfaction and then belched. He had eaten 4 baked fish, which earned him only 1% EXP, but it is still working and at that moment he didn't give a damn. His biggest concern was feeding.
He fished, took almost two hours, but managed to catch 9 fish. He killed them, cleaned them, created a bonfire with dry branches, and used Fireball to light the fire. He roasted the 9 fish and kept 5 in his Inventory, which apparently freezes the weather or something, because the food comes out the same way it went in.
It was about noon, he deduced, but honestly? He had no idea, just needed something to maintain normalcy so he wouldn't go crazy.
Before eating the fish while baking, he took his time to wash in the river and used his fire skill to warm up with the clothes still on his body and not catch a cold.
Now he was "clean," with a full stomach, almost comfortable, and if he was not careful, he would end up sleeping around the fire on the river bank.
He winked.
His body shivered and he almost had a heart attack, but his brain still had time to think about hallucination.
He crashed for a moment. Her body didn't respond to her urge to get up and run away.
Out of nowhere, as if it had just teleported, about ten meters away from him, was a green creature. A grasshopper over 3 meters in size.
"And out of nowhere, it turned into a horror movie." He thought, almost losing control and getting his pants dirty.
He wanted it to be a hallucination, because what he was making of such a frightening image was that the grasshopper looked like a normal grasshopper that just grew wildly and that was scarier than anything.
An insect over 3 meters in size? He wasn't getting it for that.
When he finally managed to control himself, he didn't even think twice, Blink was activated and he reappeared more than 20 meters on the river bank going as far as possible from the monster.
He ran like never before.
"Oh, I thought he would fight. I'm disappointed." Someone said looming above the grasshopper as if invisible moments before.
He was standing in midair as if standing on an invisible surface.
It was a man. He must have been around twenty-five. poorly shaved, blond beard and short, straight but slightly messy hair. Light brown eyes. He seemed to be the charismatic type.
"But it will still have to do."
He disappeared and reappeared facing Rowen, who had used Blink a second time and was now in Cooldown.
"Hi." The stranger said charismaticly.
Rowen had his heart almost stopped again, and he slid across the gravel to the ground and fell on his butt with the sudden appearance of this stranger before him.
"You don't look well, but it will have to do. Congratulations, you have now won a great opportunity. An undisputed opportunity." This stranger had a smile and a charismatic look that seemed to be able to sell ice to people living at the North Pole. He disappeared and reappeared beside Rowen who was still lying on his butt on the floor. The stranger put his hand on Rowen's shoulder and with no time to react, the scenario simply changed.
