Knock knock.

"Thank you Ringo, that was wonderful."

And Chu Ye could swear the smile on her face could power a city. They were on the highway by now, very close to home as the setting sun glared orange on Mo Qianni's face, her soft features were enrapturing, to say the least.

"Seen enough?" She suddenly asked as she took her eyes off the road for a second to glare at him.

"No, but if it makes you uncomfortable I'll stop." He replied, and true to his word, he glanced out his window, watching the scenery pass by.

"Hmph," She snorted cutely, "I wonder how your wife would feel if I tell her about your interest in me?"

"Who says I'm interested in you?" He asked, as he turned his head to glance at her.

"Please, I'm not head of the PR department for nothing, It's the way you look at me."

Chu Ye was silent for a few seconds before he replied,

"It's just... you remind me of someone I once knew."

"I see... was she beautiful?" She asked curiously.

"Very," He said, his tone full of remembrance and longing, "And her voice, God, her voice, she could sing devils to sleep."

"So it was my voice, huh..." She realized, which also brought a blush to her cheeks thanks to his unintentional compliment. "What happened to her?"

She knew she was prying, she had only known the man for a few hours, but here she was, already asking about things she knew was very personal. She could see it in his eyes, the way they seemed to go dark and bright when he just spoke of "Her", sadness and happiness, and also a little regret. But she couldn't help it, something about him made her want to know more.

"She passed away." Chu Ye replied as he once again stared out the window.

"I'm sorry." Mo Qianni apologized, she was scolding herself now for being so nosy.

They drove in silence the rest of the way, each in their own thoughts. Finally, they seemed to reach Ruoxi's home, Chu Ye climbed out from his seat and came around to Mo Qianni's window,

"Thanks Qianni." He smiled, though she could see the sadness behind it, it was so different from the vibrant person that had sung along with her just now.

"Chu Ye I didn't mean to-"

"Qianni, it's fine, really, I appreciate your concern though," He smiled again and turned his back as he headed up the steps: "See you when I see you."

Qianni stared at his back and sighed, she had wanted to greet Ruoxi before going, but now she didn't have the heart for it. So she got back on the road while mumbling,

"Ah Qianni, you and your big mouth."

--------

When Chu Ye opened the door he still felt some lingering emotions from his conversation with Qianni, but everything seemed better when seeing the lazy silhouette of Ruoxi's lying on the couch. Her hair was undone, like the day he met her, cascading down her shoulders like the Niagra, he just stood there, leaning against the wall as he gazed at her, who was fully engrossed into the Korean drama playing before her, her eyes unblinking, not even noticing him,

Wang Ma seemed to hear the door open though because, after a few minutes, she peeked from out of the kitchen and said,

"Welcome back Young Master."

Ruoxi, hearing what Wang Ma said, immediately sat up from a prone position, switching off the tv as she turned her head towards the door.

"Thank you Wang Ma," He replied with a smile on his face as he turned his head towards Ruoxi, "I'm home Ruoxi." He seemed to put extra emphasis on home, which didn't escape Ruoxi's ears, though that's not what bothered her now,

"How long have you been standing there?" She asked.

"Long enough to know that Sing Mun is gay, and Eun Ae is pregnant."

"Sing Mun is not- nevermind, why didn't you say anything?" She asked with a scowl on her face.

"And miss seeing you in your natural habitat, not a chance." Chu Ye said with a smirk as he sat down on the couch near her.

"Take off your shoes," Ruoxi growled before he could put his feet up, he complied, not minding her aggressive attitude at all, she still had to cope with this situation after all, even if it was her choice.

"And what's that?" She asked, pointing at the beautiful grand piano standing in the corner of the room.

"Have you never seen a piano before?" Chu Ye asked, with all the emotion of shock he could muster on his face.

"I know what it is," Ruoxi said through gritted teeth, "I want to know what it's doing in my living room."

"Ruoxi, this isn't just your house anymore, you know that right," He let that sink in for a bit before he leaned closer and whispered so that Wang Ma couldn't hear, "We'll be living together for 3 years, I want to call this place home too, will you let me?" He asked sincerely.

Lin Ruoxi pondered, she was a bit taken aback by his sincerity since the other day he had been very domineering, and now suddenly tame, Chu Ye though didn't want to force her, the other day was just to act cool, to be honest.

"Next time tell me about it first." She said, before standing up while stretching.

"You're not gonna watch?" Chu Ye asked curiously.

"N-no..." She stammered, clearly embarrassed by Chu Ye finding out her guilty pleasure. She began walking to the stairs, "I have work."

"Oh, then I'll watch alone then." He said, before putting the tv on again.

As he was watching, he turned towards the stairwell, Ruoxi was still standing there, looking straight at the television, Chu Ye couldn't help but chuckle.

"Work later?" He asked her, speaking carefully as if she were a puppy, scared by the smallest of sounds.

"...Work later." She said, before proceeding to come sit down again. Wang Ma who saw all this from the kitchen smiled happily. She served dinner and they all ate in their respective seats, not before a warning from Ruoxi to not make a mess though.

--------

A fierce knock on the door seemed to spoil the mood, Chu Ye frowned a bit, it was already late, who would come at this hour, he still stood up to open the door before Wang Ma could.

Chu Ye was greeted by the scowling face of a middle-aged man, he was handsome, if you were into older guys, or guys.

"Can I help you?" Chu Ye asked.

"Who are- oh you must be the "husband" " The man said with venom in his voice, "Where's Ruoxi, call her over." He demanded.

Chu Ye just shut the door in his face.

"Who was that?" Ruoxi asked from her seat, she was too absorbed in the show to listen to the conversation.

"Jehova's witness."

"Oh."
