Hunger

The two individual engage in romantic courtship with the supervision of four female members who watched the couple's shy reaction with each other while the other three make members were cautiously watching Ang Siu's action towards Fangsu, spying at every single moment. Mostly, that was just the grandpa acting over protectively over his granddaughter while the uncle and grandson had to back the grandpa to a corner so that the couple could continue with courtship. Fangsu was often the one being spoiled by Ag Siu who just poured all his affection on to her with lots of gifts and kisses but it would be occasionally too overwhelmed for Fangsu who was still inexperienced with the romantic pursue from the opposite sex. Despite the occasional overwhelming affection being poured; Fangsu also poured an equal amount of affection differently with an approach which was more physically. Subtle touches, hugs from behind, quick kisses on the cheeks, holding hands and various other romantic gesture of affection.

Besides having their relationship developing with each other; they still had to hide the fact that members of the Chen family had been revived. Such an act had been considered ludicrous and unachievable yet here stood the evidence in the form of the three supposedly deceased members of the Chen Family. There was already concern about a person or group of people trying to find spiritual cultivators and there was now plenty of them, "For now, Mother, Liansu and Susu will continue to rebuild their strength whilst we find a way to find out a way to find our abilities, " Fangsu's grandpa was already much aggrieved that they once had to be on edge about their existence again since they chose to be isolated from society, "Fangsu, please be careful about revealing your power out in public, " He warned Fangsu who nodded understanding the position of publicity of the family's secret would endanger everyone.

Fangsu let out a yawn as she stretched her muscle from talking with her family. The slight throb was present within her body but at a level where she would be able to tolerate without writhing on the ground like a worm. Then the memory of Ren Mosheng's lecture reappeared in her train of thought, summoning Ming Yue who was the only spirit for unknown reasons. The other being still in the spiritual realm for reasons unknown to Fangsu, "Ming Yue, do you know of a place with a lot of weak spirits that I can devour easily?" Inquiring about the possibility of a place where she could regularly consume spirit to nourish her body whilst the cure is still being created. Ming Yue thought of locations that Dai-Tai had taken her to when she was still a lot younger than her current state. Forming a physical body; Ming Yue rolled out a map before pointing at many location. Many of which were graveyards, unmarked graveyards, previous war torn battlefields, place previously plague with famine, brothels, back alleys and the slum. All the place where there were many deaths of vengeful and unjstly deaths that were the result of human actions that cast a dark shadow of humanity. It was not like the Chen aren't guilty of such acts; in ways the Chen Family was much worse than the people hiding in the dark; as they had the ability to ruin everyone and anyone in their path that was deemed a nuisance.

Fangsu was on that path; one that would change her course of life either it be life changing or immientent ruin. Even though spiritual cultivations are shrouded in mysterious there are strict rules that they must adhere to and the very thing that Ren Mosheng was suggesting for Fangsu was the most taboo amongst all the things that spiritual cultivators must abide by and that is not to consume spirit as it damages the mind and is generally a spiritual cultivator's duty to fulfil a spirit's longing desire or exocise the malicious spirit before it can do further harm to others. A pathway which is to protect the public from the dark without being known not one for fame.

As night came at a snail pace for Fangsu who was awaiting the opporunity to sneak out of the house. What she was about to commit was a henious crime, however, if it was the only thing can relieve the pain temporoarily. Fangsu quickly dressed for discretion as she donned some regular clothes that could easily be discarded away and she had dyed her hair previously to allow for the hair dye to dry using the excuse that she was testing the new formulation that had been created on herself before it would be distrubted to the public. But, as she jumped out of the window landing on the rooftop tiles without too much noise, "Where do you thing you are going?" Liansu was on the top floor roof above Fangsu taking a swig of the jar of alcohol that she had on hand, "You know you are suppose to be resting right?" Swirling the bottle in boredom.

Fangsu sighed as she knew that lying to Liansu would be futile since they were twins and could essentially understand each other's train of thought, "The medicine isn't working anymore, " Fangsu took the bottle from Liansu's hand taking a sip of the booze but the strong taste and burning sensation was too much for Fangsu so she ended up spitting it out, "What the hell are you drinking?" Wiping the side of her mouth and her chin from the alchol that she had spit from her mouth.

Liansu stared sorrowfully at the alcohol that was spat by by her twin sister, "You wasted such a rare delicacy of alcohol; you break my heart dear sister," Dramatically falling to the ground like a dmasel in distress, Liansu pitifully laid on the ground like she was the one being hurt by Fangsu. But, she stood up from the ground wiping the dirt that was on her clothes from sitting on the roof tiles, "But if your medicine isn't working then why don't you tell Yun Nan?" Liansu plugged up the bottle before hanging at her waist with an intricate pattern of tying.

Fangsu pushed back the hair on that was on her forehead before grunting in pain. Clutching her body to help somewhat ease the pain, "I'll explain later!" Fangsu immeditately dashed in the direction of the cementary without a moment of hestiation with Ming Yue quickly following behind. But, there was another figure following behind the two but Fangsu and Ming Yue couldn't focus on the surrounding because of Fangsu slowly exponentially increasing pain. As soon as she saw a spirit in her way; pouncing it like a predator who had been in a hunger strike. Gripping the throat of the unsuspecting spirit who could writh in her grip trying to struggle out of her grip.

But, Ming Yue quickly restrained Fangsu settling her down on the ground, "Master, you need to control yourself; rushing will only get you killed," Patting down her master down who nearly when into a blind frenzy without realising.

Fangsu was suddenly brought back to reality as she was hyperventialating from the stress, "I'm sorry," Tears came falling down from her eyes as she crounched into a fetal position, "I just don't know what come over me," Fangsu was scared of dying she just had been reunited back with her family but she was know desperate just to extend her own life even at the cost of an innocent spirit who just already left. It was a scary thought that she didn't even hestiant to kill at the thought of her own life easily exstinguishing as easily as a flame. A comforting hand rested on Fangsu's shoulders and as Fangsu went to look at who it was; Ang Siu. Without any verbal communication between the two, Ang Siu went to pick Fangsu up and carry her in his arm and returned back to the ground so that Fangsu wasn't sitting on the dirty ground. Fangsu could only just stay in his arms as she slowly began to calm down.

Ming Yue had already disappeared from the vincity of the two to allow for privacy only returning with malice spirit in tow, "Master, these spirits would be suitable to consume without any conscience but they were quite vicious," As the spirits were trying to escape from their bondage from Ming Yue to only be kicked by Ming Yue quickly subduing them. Ang Siu then released Fangsu from her embrace to allow her to eat the spirits.

Fangsu approached the three spirits that were next to Ming Yue before encasing her hand with spiritual energy before plunging her hand into the spirit's chest, feeling for the pulsating beating of the soul resonate in her hands. Fangsu stared at the soul with hesitation before taking a bite of the soul to only have a wretched rotten flavour coat her mouth. Fangsu had to hold her mouth before she spat it out with disgust, swallowing the rotten soul down her throat, "How do you eat this without vomiting?" Fangsu's eyes trembled at the sight of having to consume more of these soul in order to live for a bit longer. The taste was unbearable destable for Fangsu who only had delicious food only ever entering her mouth since she was a baby; the medicine was the sole expection since it was bitter that she coul handle but she never eaten anything rotten before.

Ming Yue was flustered as she had never had to deal with such as situation such as this before, "Spirit's don't have a sense of taste so we can't taste it," She honestly replied as she was never to type to lie to anyone. Fansgu grimaced as she wished she was a spirit to avoid the rotten tasting soul but she steeled herself to be overwhlemed by the rotten taste. After eating one soul, Fangsu felt like dying on the spot. It was draining to eat something so rotten tasting but there were two more left and Fangsu forced herself to eat them and Ang Siu had given Fangsu some candy that he had packed with him. After Fangsu was given the candy; the sweetness of the sugar immediately overwritten the rotten taste that was in her mouth she was completely revaltised by the candy that was in her mouth.

After finishing the candy that was in her mouth; Fangsu felt a warmth spread from the pit of her stomach to the other parts of the body. Renergising her from the newfound source much better than the medicine that she had taken for years. Seeing that Fangsu was completely done digesting the souls and candy; Ang Siu continuously fed Fangsu with some more candy but Fangsu shook her head as she held up her arm, wanting a hug which Ang Siu was happy to fulfil. As Fangsu wrapped her arms aorund Ang Siu's neck, "I just want to go back to sleep." Her legs immmediately wrapped around his waist resting on his hips which surprised him. Ang Siu hurriedly caught her from slipping with one hand holding her waist and the other supporting her by holding her buttocks in his hand.

Gently placing his lips on Fangsu's forehead, "Ok, let's go home now," Ang Siu used qigong to travel quietly in the dark that was soon turning to the early hours of dawn. As he reached the roof where fangsu's room would be, greeted by his future sister inlaw who was also Fangsu's twin, Liansu.

The sun rising from the horizon illuminated the rooftop still leaving the ground untouched by its rays, "So, how bad is it?" Liansu landed on the rooftop where Ang Siu was standing on focusing on the spiritual energy within Fangsu had become more stable from the last time she saw Fangsu last night, "What did you guys do?" Liansu was getting suspicious of their actions last night, prying into Ang Siu who she knew she could push Ang Siu to answer her.

Ang Siu held Fangsu closer to his body taking a few step away from Liansu, "If I tell you what we did last night, " His hardened gaze as he turned into a protective stance against Liansu who was also in a stance ready to punce, "Will you kill Fangsu?" His question stunned Liansu.

But, after the intitation shock wore off a smirk took place on her face, "Depends on the answer," Liansu took up a stance that didn't reveal how she would attack. Ang Siu quickly took up a defensive stance as well as carrying Fangsu as gently as possible as to not wake her up from her slumber. But, before the bout between the two could even start. Someone stood inbetween the two completely ceasing the tension between the two between blood would be shed on top of the rooftop. The person was Liansu's and Fangsu's mother who immediately knocked Liansu on the head. She quickly gestured Ang Siu to take Fangsu inside to rest, "Ah! Mum, I was only kidding! I wasn't actually going to do anything!" Ang Siu could hear the poor plead from Liansu who was only pretending to be threatening as she only wanted to tease them.

After Liansu had learnt her lesson after her ear being pinched by her mother who dragged her into the room where Fangsu was being tucked into. Liansu was then forced to kowtow and apologies to Ang Siu who just sat on the floor where the floor next to Fangsu's bed. After the apology, Liansu was sent out of the room, however, Fangsu's mother still remained in the room, "So, where did the two fo you go last night?" Pulling out a chair for herself, "Frankly, even though you are courting my daughter; she is still sick and could easily pass at any moment and having her go out will only futher increase that risk." Fangsu's mother was worried about the disappearance of her daughter but it was weird that she would go out in the middle of the night without telling anyone and she was usually the first person that would be notified.

Ang Siu took a breathe in before explaining the situation about the dungeon where they met the old ancenstor and the lover who suggested them a way keep the illness at bay since the medicine was essentially not effective anymore. Continuing on that topic, Ang Siu told Fangsu's with deep thought running in her mind.mother that Fangsu had consumed spirits today yet it was known in soiritual cultivator world that eating spirit was akin to the dark arts. Fangsu's mother carefully listened to the explanation as she approached Fangsu gently caressed her smooth cheek, "I use to blame myself for my body being unable to make Fangsu completely healthy," Fangsu instinctively snuggled against the familiar hand like a kitten which was endearing to the mother who missed her daughter dearly from the time she was a spirit, "My thoughts were even quite dark at that time Fangsu was born; I wanted to kill my baby's because I didn't want to bring a sick baby in the world because they would suffer," Fangsu's mother wore a sorrowful expression as she gently tucked up the blanket up to Fangsu's neck.

Ang Siu was shocked to hear such a thing from Fangsu's own mother, "But, what made not do the deed?" The most intriguing thing to Ang Siu was the reason that made Fangsu's mother not do such a thing.

Fangsu's mother smiled, "Her eyes and her smiles," Turning to her future son in law who was head over heels ready to protect her, "It was so bright; she looks so happy and when her tiny hand gasped my finger it made me love and protect her even more so look after her for me," Fangsu's mother then walked out of the room to deal with other business.
