"These robbers already have everything they need, so why would they rob? I tried to get them to confess but none of them would bother." I told Deok-Su.
"Probably because they can't get enough money just by waiting and working for it." Deok-Su shrugs his shoulders.
"That is not a reasonable reason." I shuffle through the papers. "There is no pattern with the location."
"There isn't? How about the building they robbed? Are they all little stores?" He asked.
"Yes, convenience stores."
"How many of those small stares are there in this city?"
"Around twenty? So far only five has been hit. But it's impossible to know what store the next criminal will target next."
"Lemme say, all the bad men, cop-out, I'm a new generation Anpanman." Deok-Su sang while moving the spoon with his hand.
"Focus," I state.
"Dude nothing is impossible because you have me. With me anything is possible." He smiles at me.
"What can't you do specifically?" I look at him trying to look intimidating.
"Well I can't use my powers in public but since I'm helping you then it's okay. But if you are speaking about powers...then I can't turn other people into vampires. I'm not even a millennium year old and you have to eat a millennium or older to turn others into vampires." He answered.
"What's your birthday then?" I ask.
"July seventeen, two thousand and one."
"Oh, so you are a new vampire? How about your family?"
"Well, my brother was born in the nineteen hundred. My father is a year older than a millennium and my mom? Well, she is two years younger than the millennium age." Deok-Su scoops another spoonful of ice cream.
"Really. That's a lot of year of being alive." I check my phone for the time.
"I know. I'm the youngest vampire right now so I'm expected to listen to their stupid rule and not break any." He suddenly said and looks at his ice cream. "They all expect me to make a future as a human and follow the rules at all times. My parents don't want me to be involved in our kind matters or use my powers, they want me to live as a "normal human being"."
"So that's why you wanted to work with me badly?" I ask and nodded his head.
"Look, kid, I didn't want to get personal but now this just really personal. You really should stop eating my ice cream too." I shuffle the papers neatly. "Stop being grumpy. We're leaving." I stood up to grab a hoodie from the coat hanger.
"Where are we going?" He stood up and kept his eyes on me.
"We are going out for a drive," I answer and walk out the door.
"To where?" He follows me.
"You'll see." I open my car. He got in the passenger seat. I started to drive out the little community and headed towards outside the city. I drove like a few miles away from the city to a forest. I pulled up in a drive of my old family house. "We are here." I got out of the car and look over to Deok-Su.
"We are in a forest...this was outside of the city?!" He smiled and somehow flew in the air and in the trees. He came back as a small bat and turned into himself again. "I have never been in a forest!"
"Never?" I ask as I walk towards the house.
"No, we do go on vacation but it usually at the beach at some fancy hotel. That's about it. My father never goes to the mountains of the forest, he is afraid I might come in contact with some supernatural and I would probably go wild." He floats behind me and we went into the small house.
"Wow, I'm surprised you never saw or visited the woods. Since we are alone here you can go have all the freedom you want for a while." I look around the old house to see the stuff my family left.
"This house is hidden in this forest. How did you know about it?" Deok-Su asked.
"My ancestors built this house. My grandparents used to live here with my cousin but then my cousin moved away and started to live a better life as my family moved in here though then we moved out." I answer.
"What happened?" Deok-Su stared at an old picture on the wall. It was a picture of me and my parents.
