Three Rebirths Talking of the Future

Shilah glanced wearily at the two men across from her. She was drained from the hours of driving and arguing with Hillary before being dragged into the house by her companion. The blonde could only weakly watch as the two men discussed with her friend.

At first, she truly believed that Oliver was attempting to take advantage of them, however when she laid eyes on the other man, Aiden, her skeptism was immediately put away. A stotic, poker-faced man who put a possesive hand around his shoulder. How could such a man let his lover run amok with women?

Additionally, Shilah's eyes flickered between Hillary and the couple before her, it seems that they have a common topic to speak about.

"Wow! So both, the two of you, were also reborn?!" The brunette exclaimed.

Oliver couldn't help but let his lip twitch in amusement the ever so slightest at the girl's overenthusiasm.

He happyily went along with it, "Yes! Isn't it good that you chose our base? I admit, we were known for equal rights in this messed up world!"

"Yea, absolutely! Well, not really. Nope." Hillary corrected herself, earning a smack to the forehead from her friend. She aggrievedly rubbed her head while looking at Shilah with false teary eyes.

Oliver chuckled at their antics.

Though the warmed up atmosphere came to a halt when a cold voice cut in, "Oh? Why the negative answer?"

Aiden does not doubt the validity of any of the woman's words. She is a rebirth and her friend is not. They had come for protection without any malicious intents.

However, Aiden does doubt the real reason the women were here and she bluntly said so that her initial reason was partially false.

'He justified his anger towards the women with that.' Oliver knew Aiden like the back of his hand and could see through him like a sheet of clear plastic wrap. He believed that Aiden was truly suspicious of the honest motive of Hillary. It would determine whether they were friends or foes.

However, he could also decipher that Aiden was still ruffled over a... missed chance from this morning, being interrupted at key moments. Oliver scratched his nose when he realized that he had seen Aiden's annoyed expression quite a lot when "harem members" came to interrupt them. Ah, he still felt like a bit of a fool for not noticing earlier.

He shook himself out of his own thoughts when he heard Hillary's answer, "A gut feeling!" That bold, concise statement was followed by a loud smack against a certain someone's brown-haired head.

Oliver raised an eyebrow while Aiden's face finally showed a crack in its usual composure towards outsiders.

"A gut feeling you say?" Hillary nodded vigorously to confirm Aiden's questioning, like a child afraid that an adult would not believe her outlandish words. Her arms waved wildly around as she attempted to rationalize her claim.

"You see, I tried to get to your base in the past and, well, failed! And ended up here. But, to rewind a bit, I just thought I had to get to your base. Not just because of the safety of the base. We could make our own base if we really just wanted safety. I just had this strong feeling when I woke up." Hillary obediently waited for the verdict. Shilah had her face already buried in her hands from her friend's wild explanation that had little to no explanation to this "gut feeling" of hers.

Luckily, she was not the only one.

Aiden stared down at her with eyes that perhaps suggested that she should "explain" a little more, but this time, with more reason. Oliver also dryly coughed as to hint that her statements were not enough. Hillary seemed oblivious to the three's urging to tell more and only got the hint when her friend nudged her with a sharp elbow.

"Uh- what I meant was that this gut feeling that I had was like a need to come here. Like I said, Shilah and I have attempted to get to your base and died, so partially, I just want to fulfill our past hopes and dreams. The other part is that I- well it's just that... Hmm..." Hillary turned speechless after a few moments of muttering. She really couldn't think of anything else other than a gut feeling and to explain the reasoning behind this elusive emotion.

But, when she woke up, she knew that she had to go to Oliver's base. She never met him before while living, but felt that she must go there and at least meet him personally.

With a little more inward digging, she looked seriously at Oliver and Aiden, gathering her words bit by bit.

"I felt that I had to come here. To meet you, " Hillary abruptly pointed at Oliver which her finger was immediately smacked down by Shilah. "I'm not sure why, like I said just a feeling."

Oliver gave a patient smile, but he was only filled with question marks within. Everyone else, meaning Shilah and Aiden, blatantly showed their confusion, causing Hillary to give a shrug and a silly smile, as if she had not just caused confusion within everyone.
