Chapter VI - Him and I.

*Ana POV*

I sit with Andrea, my eyes looking at the closed door that laid in front of me, the door of my room. I feel a smile on my lips. It managed to remain there from the last few words I said only seconds ago...

"I do feel like he is 'the one'..." I whisper under my breath.

Then, that smile suddenly drops when Los Angeles enters my head.

I don't notice, but I look up towards Andrea, to which she looks at me. Her brows furrow ever so slightly.

"What's wrong?..." she asks. It's mainly her words that kick me out of my short trance. I shake myself back to reality.

I let out a quiet sigh. Then, I drop my gaze to my fingers, I watch the slow twiddling action of my two thumbs. "It's just... what am I going to do when he goes back to America? He said how he lives in LA, and LA is half of the world away from here...". I look back up at her when I finish my sentence. She gives me a knowing look, she has been through a situation like this before...

"I... I guess..." she begins before stopping. "We will have to wait and see... but whatever you do, do not give up on what you two just made..." she adds, and before she could say anything else, the opening of the door interrupts us.

When the door opened, it revealed James dressed in the top and jeans which I gave him. I have seen him half-naked, it was a sight and a half, his muscles mesmerized me and the shirt that he has on himself right now is shamelessly doing the same.

It shows off how hard he worked to get his body to where it is now.

The jeans that wrap around his legs and make them a perfect fit for him.

Before I could utter a word, Andrea says, "Those clothes look much better on James than they ever did on your ex...". She turns to me and I can't help but chuckle at her words.

"They... they actually do..." I agree with Andrea before breaking into shy chuckles.

"Thank you?... I guess," James replies before making his way towards us.

He sits down on an armchair, perpendicular to us. In the same time, I raise myself onto my legs.

"Ana, where do you think you are going?" Andrea asks me, raising an eyebrow playfully.

"To go and get us all a drink..." I reply.

She responds with a playful eye-roll before taking a hold of my hand. She then gently pulls me down back onto the sofa. "Not until you tell me how you guys met..." she adds, another smile stretched across her lips. "You even said it yourself that when I come over that you are going to tell me the details of how it all came to be...".

I can't help but chuckle at her ever so slightly.

"Well..." I begin before looking at James.

A big, handsome smirk is patched on his lips.

I then return my attention to Andrea. "Well, we met at an airport... I was waiting in line to get checked in when... from all of a sudden..." I stop to move my eyes back onto James. "I saw him...". I smile sheepishly at him as a flush of red spreads across my cheeks. I see the way he tilts his head ever so slightly, still keeping his gaze on me...

"Not only that..." James takes over. "We also flew together on the same flight... We were sat next to each other..." he adds. "It all felt right, me being in your presence and you being in mine just felt... right. It felt as if I was meant to meet you...".

I nod to his word as I know how he feels...

After that, silence descended but for a very brief moment.

"You know..." Andrea's voice catches my attention but it also breaking the quiet. "That actually sounds very sweet..." she adds, smiling at me before turning to James and then back to me. "I'm glad you two found each other...".

"Thank you..." James utters, seconds later. "I am very glad we found each other too..." he adds, diverting his gaze onto me.

"Me too..." I reply.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After that, we all talked and laughed for a bit until I sadly thought that is was time and stood up.

"I feel like a horrible host. What would you guys like to drink?" I ask, looking at them both.

"Can I have some more water, please," Andrea says, with a smile.

"Okay," I mutter under my breath, taking her empty glass into my hand. "And for you, James?".

"Beer, if possible, please," he replies.

I furrow my eyebrows whilst thinking. "I think I have a beer. Let me check...".

I quickly walk to the kitchen. Placing Andrea's empty glass onto a working surface, by my hob, I move to by fridge before opening it. Looking through it but I see no sign of beer. I also make a mental note to do some grocery shopping later.

"James, I sadly don't have any beer..." I reply. "But I got some white wine...".

"Sure, I can quickly run down to the shops and get some beer. Since I know you also just came back, I can get you some food or something..." Andrea offers.

"No, you don't have to do that..." I reply, closing the fridge and walking back into the living room.

"Of course I don't..." she says, rolling her eyes at me before standing up. "I have to run some errands in the city anyways, a visit to the shops is not gonna do me any harm. I, also, have to get myself some stuff too.".

"Andrea-" before I can finish my sentence, she intervenes.

"No, you are going to say here, rest... get a bit closer with this guy..." she says, looking at James before looking back at me. "I'll be back in a jiffy... or so I hope I will..." she adds as she begins walking towards the main door.

Reaching the door, she kneels down to get her shoes and within a couple of seconds puts them on and ties her laces.

"Andrea, you really don't have to go..." I say.

"I agree with Ana, I don't want to cause you more hassle. I'll have that white wine you said you had, Ana..." James says. "Or maybe even water...".

Andrea raises her eyes onto him. "You don't mean that... I have been with enough men to know that they can't say no to beer..." she says, before continuing what she was doing, and that was putting on her coat.

"Except the ones that don't drink..." James replies.

"Which is a minority out of all the men that live on Earth..." Andrea says, stopping for a quick second before continuing adjusting her coat.

"Oh, you'd be surprised..." James replies.

"Anyways, I shall be back very soon... unless clothes don't get me carried away... We'll see..." Andrea says. "While I'm gone, do what you got to do, just... make sure to clean up after, okay?" she adds, looking at me.

I subconsciously nod as redness once again shows up upon my cheeks, since she referred to something that, as hard as I try, I would never be able to forget. That being my first time sleeping with a man.

With that, Andrea opens the door before walking out and closing it behind her.

"I sometimes honestly can't deal with her..." I say, chuckling awkwardly. "But I love her to bits...".

I walk back into the living room before sitting myself onto the couch. Only then do I realise that the criminal investigation program I put on some time ago is still running on the television.

I don't realise, but James has taken his place beside me on the couch. I notice him beside me only when he puts his arm around me. Gently, get pulls me back and onto his stong chest. I feel the palm of his hand gently rub my arm.

I turn around towards him. But as I take in a deep breath, I sense a scent...

A scent that brought back a lot of painful memories from a person I would never be able to forget.

It brings back all those memories of Igor...
