Feng Lee nodded, she stood up and walked towards her desk to grab a folder as she explained. "Now that you have much more time in your hands, I prepared a few scripts for you" She handed Yang Jia the folder
Yang Jia took the folder and began looking over it while Feng Lee went back toward her seat. "If you don't like any of them, tell me and I would look for more scripts" she added
Yang Jia flipped through the scripts one by one. Her brows furrow more and more as the script is flipped one after another.
Feng Lee noticed her expression and asked "What? those don't suit your tastes? But I read all of their plots and they were pretty good."
Yang Jia stopped flipping pages and looked up at Feng Lee and explained "Is not that, the plots are pretty good, but all of these are so cliche"
Feng Lee contemplated and nodded "Yeah, now that I think of it all this romance stories are just typical"
Yang Jia nodded in agreement "Yeah all of these are like" she flipped toward one script "mistaken identities" she flipped toward another script "childhood sweethearts" flipped toward yet another script "love at first sight" Yang Jia placed the scripts down and said "Is there something more... unconventional?"
"Unconventional huh? mmm" Feng Leng had her hand on her chin as she thought about it.
The office was quiet for a few seconds when Feng Lee said "I got it!" startling Yang Jia
"What is it?" Yang Jia asked
Feng Lee immediately rushed toward her desk and opened every drawer in search of something. "Where is it? Where is it?" She said as she searched among the files and documents.
"Where is...?" Before Yang Jia could finish
"Aha! I've found it" Feng Lee interrupted her as she held up a booklet.
Feng Lee walked back to Yang Jia and handed her the booklet. "Look through that script and tell me what you think" she said as she sat back down on her seat.
Yang Jia looked at the booklet and raised a brow in question. The front cover of the booklet was written in big words 'A Mother's Love'
"The title is peculiar" Yang Jia commented.
Feng Lee just gesture her to read the script.
Yang Jia opened the booklet and started reading.
This story is about the point of view of a wealthy widow middle aged lady, Hui Yin with two daughters. The youngest one was eleven years old, Zhao Ming while the oldest was twenty years old, Zhao Mian.
Hui Yin's husband, Zhao Deming passed away. Living everything in hands of Hui Yin and his daughters.
The story is introduced when Hui Ying remarried to a man, which was much more younger than her age, Su Bohai.
Zhao Mian disapproved of her mother's remarriage because Su Bohai was at least a decade younger than her; and she felt upset because her mom easily moved on after her father passed away.
Hui Ying also had an elder sister, Hui Jun and a niece who was in her late twenties, Fei Hong.
What Hui Ying didn't know was that Su Bohai and Fei Hong were lovers. One day, Hui Ying caught them cheating on her and found out all about their evil plans, but it was too late to do anything about it. Hui Ying was killed that instant by her niece and her husband.
Fei Hong faked a testament and used Hui Ying's fingerprint to confirm it. The testament said that everything now belonged to her husband, leaving nothing for her daughters. She technically left them homeless.
While this huge problem was happening. On the other side of the city lived a beautiful girl called Yu Yan. She had around twenty-four years of age. She lived her career as journalist and had a normal life. Unfortunately, a tragic car accident happened that cost her... her life.
When Hui Ying opened her eyes, she found herself in a body of a twenty-four year old girl. That girl was the exact same girl who died in the car accident.
Now that Hui Ying was reborn as Yu Yan; all she wanted to do was go back and protect her precious daughters from her ex-husband and evil niece and take revenge.
Yang Jia gently closed the booklet, excitment surging through her eyes. She could already feel the adrenaline and eagerness surging inside her wanting to take part on this role.
Her enthusiasm was so evident on her face that Feng Lee couldn't help feel the anticipation of wanting to witness Yang Jia in action.
"So?.. What do you think?" Was there a reason to ask when it's already confirmed? Of course not, but she did it anyway
"This is exactly the prompt I'm looking for" Yang Jia exclaimed, but then she glanced at Feng Lee and questioned "Where did you get this script from? It looked like you had it in your office for a long while"
Feng Lee scratched her head "About that...
An acquaintance is -was planning to direct and produce this movie and gave me a copy of the script a few months ago"
Yang Jia furrow her brows "Was?.. As if not anymore?"
"The reason why they are not going forward with the movie is because they can't find the perfect actress to portray the female lead...
My acquaintance said that she'd rather not make the movie than make the movie and have the female lead act unsatisfactory"
Yang Jia nodded in agreement and said "I see why many actresses failed to get this role. It's hard to present as a mother when they have not much experience, including myself... The most troublesome part is acting as if you have the mentality of a forty or fifty year old woman...
This role is indeed tricky. I'm going to have to work hard if I want to get this role" Yang Jia said with confidence
"Feng Lee can you tell your acquaintance to not lose hope just yet. Tell her that there is still one actress that wants to audition for the role of Yu Yan/Hui Jing" Yang Jia said
"Of course" Feng Lee nodded "I'll call right away" she added as she stepped out of the office to make a call.
