Chapter 3 - First Meeting

Seeing the both of them in front of him, Dr Wayne was shocked. "Young Miss, Mr Chen, Thank God the both of you made it. I was just about to-"

"What happend? How is he?"

"Old Master he fainted a while back. I have just administered some medications and had just setup the IV so he is resting now. After the IV course has completed, he can get out of bed. I would highly recommend-"

"Do you know what caused this?" Turning and looking at her, she was still in shock. He gently gave her a pushed from the back and she started walking forward towards the bed.

"He seems to be stressed over somethings recently. I would recommend for him to have more rest and also to make sure that he is not overly involved with company matters at the same time exercise is good too. You know how he is Mr Chen, even with someone capable helping him, he can't seem to let go that easily. I would suggest for Old Master to start his succession planning as soon as possible so as to prevent this from happening again. At the same time the exercises could also give him some distractions from work."

He then moved toward the bed waving Dr Wayne off. Dr Wayne left and closed the door behind him.

She sat down at the side of her grandfather's bed and lightly stroking his face, she was sobbing silently in relief. "Grandfather, it's me, your little Fei Fei. I'm sorry for coming back so late."

Slowly Grandfather Shen opened his eyes and looked up seeing his beloved granddaughter crying silently, looking behind her, he saw Chen Xin.

"Don't cry little girl, I'm not dead yet. Hahahaha... cough... cough..." Grandfather Shen started coughing nonstop.

"Grandfather, are you alright? Do you need some water? Uncle Chu, may we have a glass of water?"

Hurriedly, Butler Chu walked to the night stand to pour a glass of water for his old master. After handing the glass over to An Fei, he stepped aside.

"Don't joke about this things again, Old Man. We know your time is not up yet but don't scare everyone now."

"Hahaha... I'll do my best. But no promises boy. Have you introduced yourselves to each other? An Fei, this is the guy that I have been talking to you about. He is the one that I am grooming to take over my position. This is Chen Xin." Silently adding in his mind, "the guy that you married 4 years back and the one that has forgotten all about you."

Shocked was apparently on her face. She stared at her Grandfather, not willing to turn to look at Chen Xin at all. Fearing that she will rush into his arms and forget all the reasoning that she gave herself before she came back.

"Xin, this is my favourite Granddaughter that you have yet to meet -"

"I know. We have met already."

"Grandfather, let's stop all this." Ignoring Chen Xin and her beating heart, she continues to stare at her Grandfather. "How are you feeling now?"

"I'm alright now. I was having tea in the office and the next minute I know, I'm in bed. Don't worry about this old man. This old man have a lot of people that takes care of me."

"I'm sure you are not drinking tea but pouring yourself over the reports that the company sent over. Can't the reports wait? You need rest too you know?"

"I can't, I promised your Grandmother that I will make sure that most of the major projects are closed before the will reading next week. I need to oversee some reports before the projects are submitted to our clients."

"Since the reports need hours to look through are you sure with your vitality now you will be able to handle it all?"

"Haiz... what else can I do? I have yet to train my successor to handle it yet. Now that you are home, I'm sure you will do a better job than I will since you used to help your Grandmother with this all the time. Will you take over instead? Maybe you could also guide Xin how to do it?" Looking at her with hopeful eyes.

Cursing herself for not thinking before speaking, she felt cornered. Unsure if she should help or not. She knew her Grandfather knows how she feels about this whole thing but at this very moment she really doubt him.
