"General Vulen!" Elas shouted as he ran to catch up with the General.
Vulen was in the middle of walking down the street to head to the inn. He had been waiting for several days to hear word back about the location of the crown prince and the shadow wolf. At the sound of Elas shouting for him all motion was halted. The sound of Elas panting for his breath could be heard as the young elf warrior ran up to him and instantly lowered his hands to his legs to catch his breath.
"General Vulen!" Elas panted out the general's name again as he slowly caught his breath.
"Get on with it!" Vulen felt annoyed at the slow speed of his warrior.
The general was already impatient to figure out where the prince was he did not want to wait any longer then he had to. It was nothing but an annoyance to him that Elas was taking his time to spill out any details that he had found out about the situation.
"Right... I'm sorry, sir!" The young warrior slowly turned his gaze away nervously from the general worried that he would be scolded or worse killed for his lack of grace. Shaking his head slightly for a moment he continued. "I think I found where the prince has been hiding. I haven't went myself personally, but we gathered information that leads us to believe that the crown prince has traveled to the kingdom of Dradel."
"The kingdom of Dradel?" The general questioned the thought out loud for a moment.
"Yes! The source of Intel is a respectable one so I do think it to be a correct assumption."
Elas watched as the general stood there in silence for a while. He wanted to speak up and say something further, but he knew it was best to remain quiet unless Vulen requested him to speak. His fear of the general was high, but so was his respect so he felt conflicted in what he should do. It was hard for him to decide if he should speak or not.
"Where are the other two?" Vulen asked.
"Sir?"
"Do not make me repeat myself!" Vulen raised his voice and it made Elas shiver.
"Sir, they are still out gathering more Intel on the situation. Aywin has headed out to Dradel himself personally!" Elas had to think for a moment, but recalled that Aywin had requested to personally go to Dradel. He was not entirely sure of the reason; though he felt Aywin was still upset over the fact that Allisa had almost been sentenced to death by Cadirade if they hadn't made it to her in time in the past. Aywin was always the type to hold grudges.
"Great, if you learn anything further be sure to report to me. I will be heading off to Dradel as well." Vulen declared.
"But, sir!" Elas wanted to protest, but found a furious look in Vulen's eyes when the general caught on quickly that he was going to make an attempt to stop him from leaving.
"Don't get soft now and just do your job!" Vulen ordered him.
"Y...yes.. sir!" Elas could not move an inch. He stood there and watched as the general turned and left him on the street.
There was a fury in General Vulen's eyes that made Elas scared to move until the general was completely gone from his view. The general had a burning fire in his heart that was mixed with the desire to please his queen, Lyra, and the desire to take revenge for the death of all the warriors that had died from the fury of the dragon that had been unleashed on the border war. Not a single person could cool the fury that was burning inside his heart.
"I hope nothing serious comes of this..." a voice sounded from behind Elas out of nowhere causing the young warrior to jump in shock.
"Allisa?" He turned and saw the young archer standing behind him with her bow in her hands. Her face was showing a perplexed expression.
"I'm worried about the general, too." She nodded as she could easily see the worried expression on young Elas's face where he stood.
"I've never seen Vulen so enraged... He might be a bit cold hearted, but he still can not stand what happened at the border."
Allisa nodded along as Elas spoke. She could see the rough emotions on the general as well. There was a great number of the people who served under the general who had seen his expressions lately and could easily see he was fighting a battle inside that was not easy to deal with by one's self.
"I wonder if we should follow him..." She thought out loud as she looked in the direction that Vulen had gone.
"I agree... I feel like something bad is coming and he's walking himself right into it without thinking properly." Elas sighed to himself at the thought of Vulen doing something stupid for the sake of the queen.
"That is true. He does a lot of stupid things, but I feel like this is going to be the worst thing he's done yet!" Allisa folded her arms in front of her chest and puffed her cheeks out in frustration at how ridiculous their general was being.
"I guess we're going after him than?" Elas asked her.
"Agreed!" She giddily responded to him. A part of her was especially excited that they would be heading to Dradel because she knew that's where Aywin had went and it caused her heart to leap at the thought of joining back up with him.
Elas shook his head as he knit his brows. He could easily read her expression when she had thought of the fact they were going to Dradel. Ignoring her odd expressions beside him; his mind was more focused on tailing the general without him realizing they were following him. If Vulen found out they were following him there was no doubt they would get in trouble, if not killed, by the general for doing something against his orders.
That night the two of them set out to tail General Vulen on his way to the kingdom of Dradel.
