"General Vulen?" Elas asked as his sword collided with Leo's to keep the prince from attacking Vulen from behind.
"If you're going to be here just do your duty!" Vulen shouted as he readied himself for the impact of the wolf.
Vorbuk ran straight at the general as blood dripped from his fur. The general was much faster then the others and easily kept dodging the impact attempts from the wolf. Every time Vulen was dash aside he would swing his sword down at the wolf. Most of the swings would miss, however every once in a while a swing would slice a fresh wound on the wolf causing blood to rain through the air.
"Vorbuk!" Leo shouted at the sight of the wolf's blood being shed repeatedly.
At a glance it was like the wolf was in a trance and felt nothing that was happening to him. His eyes were even blank causing the bared fangs to be the closest thing to emotion on the face of the wolf as his throat was continuously bellowing out a rumbling growl at the general.
"CLANG!" Leo's sword slammed against Elas's sword causing it to be sent flying upon impact from the force he exerted.
As Leo sent the sword flying he dived forward at Elas, but the elf warrior was quick to remove himself from Leo's presence and ran straight for Allisa's side. The girl was still crying hard over the corpse of Aywin. Elas's eyes glanced over Aywin with a look of regret and guilt on his face for a moment. Quickly glancing away he saw Vulen still at a back to back struggle with the wolf.
"General Vulen!" Elas shouted to get his general's attention, but it failed. He didn't even get so much as a glance from Vulen.
Both the wolf and the general were to the point they were panting from exhaustion of dodging each other's attacks.
"BAM!"
They both collided into each other the general had managed to dodge the fangs of the wolf and was using his hangs to press upward on the wolf's muzzle. Trying to force the wolf's fangs to keep away from him at all cost the general exerted his strength. His foot quickly rising to slam it against the wolf's stomach. The beast stumbled back away from him and growled loudly. A feeling of a breeze started to flow towards Vulen from behind.
"SWISH!"
"CLANG!"
General Vulen swung his sword to stop the incoming swing of Leo's sword from behind.
"Hyahhh!" An incoming shout came out of the silence around them.
"BAM!" Vulen was sent flying from a flying kick.
As Vulen landed hard on the ground he quickly forced himself back to his feet. His eyes scanning the area to figure out who was sneaking up on him. In front of him he could see a small cat girl. Her ear's twitching as she huffed and glared at him. She looked so weak that it surprised him that she had so easily sent him flying with her kick. The way she was puffing he cheeks with her expression made her look like an annoyed innocent child.
"Who?" Vulen couldn't help the urge to ask.
"We let you two out of our sight for a second and you get yourself into trouble..." Daryl sighed as he spoke, but his voice broke into silence when his eyes landed on the sight of Vorbuk.
The wolf was baring it's fangs in a stance that was ready to go at Vulen again even though he was covered in wounds and losing blood from various places. If he didn't see the sight of the wolf in front of him so determined to still fight he'd expect the beast to be on the ground writhing in pain. His mind shuddered at how much pain the wolf must be feeling from the wounds.
The amount of loyalty the wolf must feel to protect the crown prince to be willing to hold up through so much of a struggle to be wounded that badly and still want to fight was enough to strike fear into Daryl's mind. A part of him wanted to punch the young prince for letting things escalate to such a point.
"Bredret!" Daryl shouted at the dragon.
"I'm on it already!" The dragon walked right past Daryl and Leo straight towards the wolf.
As the dragon showed it's face Vulen knew what he was at first glance. His hope of killing the prince shattered like glass as he silently backed away to remove himself from their view while nobody was paying him any mind. Sweeping his eyes over to search for Elas he realized that his warrior was already dragging the young archer girl quickly away from the scene.
As the dragon approached the wolf it's face turned to growl at him. Bredret did not bat an eye at the thought of the wolf turning towards him when he got close.
"Pardon me!" Bredret bellowed as he raised his foot in the air.
"BAMMMM!"
A thundering sound vibrated through the air as the wolf was sent flying from Bredret's kick. As the wolf landed on the ground his body had been rendered unconscious from the force exerted by the dragon.
"The hell, Bredret! I expected you to knock him out, but that was just too much!" Daryl scolded.
"A beast like him... I'd be surprised if that was enough to do any damage. Anyways he's out cold so I suggest we move him now before the prince's pet here bleeds to death!" Bredret yawned as he turned to walk away from the wolf.
"You know you could help us move him!" Leo glared at the dragon that was walking away.
The dragon paused where he was and sighed heavily at the thought of doing something so laborious. The sight of Celeste giving begging eyes beside him was the first thing that entered his field of vision. It caused his brow to twitch.
"So troublesome!" The dragon declared in response.
Everyone thought his response meant he wasn't going to help. Bredret slowly turned around and marched back over to the wolf and picked him up. Shifting the weight of the wolf onto his back. Since he was a dragon the weight of the wolf was like nothing to him. The only reason he didn't want to help was simply the fact he didn't want to do more work than he felt was necessary.
For the next few hours the group ended up spending their time cleaning and fixing up the wolf's wounds. The whole time they were tending to him the wolf never even so much as twitched. He slept for most of the day from the lack of blood and all the energy he had used up before the dragon had knocked him out.
