Overwhelmed with a sense of joy at the thought of being able to finally experience a human body once more after so long Vorbuk could only stand in a daze of silence. His heart throbbing in his chest as he narrowed his eyes in deep contemplation.
[ Would you like to enable transformation now? ]
God's voice called out to him with the question that hung on to him from the back of his mind. Standing in the halls of the inn they were staying at a soft growl came from his throat as the desire took him over.
"Let's give it a go." Vorbuk responded to the system in his head. Darting his eyes slowly back and forth throughout the halls to ensure that nobody else was around to see him.
His body enveloping in a soft golden glow from head to toe began to illuminate the walls as his eyes shut closed. The once silvervane collar that was around his neck began to shift and take shape with him. What was once a silver collar formed into that of black and white robes that draped down his body. A red jewel that had once been centered in his forehead was displayed brightly at his waist after merging into the clothing. The fur that once covered him from head to toe faded way as his body morphed, painfully, with a faint sense of euphoria as he slowly took stance.
Vorbuk's red eyes casually opened as his body stood there calm and in a faint daze for a moment. Beautiful shoulder length hair as black as the night itself hung down from his head as he tilted his head slightly to the side. Though he held the body of a human the way in which his body and clothes had morphed gave him the air of someone fit for royalty. Looks did not matter to Vorbuk, however, because he was simply thrilled that he could feel himself standing up on two feet once again.
Human or beast form it did not matter in the least when it came to what looks Vorbuk had. He still retained all his abilities from his true form while in the shape of a human. Whether it was his shadow capabilities or something as simple as how much more advanced his senses were than a human. No matter how much he wanted to take it all in he could feel it slowly eating away at his mana pool. Once his mana ran low he would have no choice but to return to his true form as a wolf.
Hearing the sounds of the room that the crown prince and the others were in beginning to open he felt his heart race. There was no slight bit of interest in Vorbuk's mind to let them know about his new ability just yet before he had the chance to enjoy it for himself first without distractions.
"Who's that?" The catgirl Zoe asked as the three of them stepped out from the room. Daryl closing it behind them all. The crown Prince Leo stood in front of them all with his eyes quickly capturing Vorbuk in his sights the second Zoe had spoke up.
Prince Leo's face flushed just faintly at the sight of Vorbuk. It was hard for him not to instinctively admire a sight of such pure royalty in front of him. It was like looking at a living sculpture of a divine being.
"A prince from another country?" Zoe asked them both as she did her best to refrain from becoming one of those common girls that would publically shout out excited from the man in her sights.
"I don't recognize him at all, but that doesn't mean it's not possible." Daryl was the one to respond to her since he'd been all over the twelve kingdoms during his time as an adventurer.
"Excuse me are you-" Daryl stepped towards the man that was robed in black and white from his clothing to his black hair. Something about the man felt familiar and yet he could not place why. It was not strange for him to feel that way considering he really did know Vorbuk but to expect a wolf to simply shape shift into the form of a human being was something that did not exactly happen daily for him.
Vorbuk's red eyes shot into their direction as if he was a deer in headlights at the thought of being confronted by the three of them. There was also a hint of danger behind his gaze that caused Daryl's words to be stopped before he could finish asking him who he was.
"The night is young. I think I shall go enjoy it." A slight smile curled its way up onto Vorbuk's face as he realized he had to take the chance to escape while he could. The longer he dragged out leaving the place the more risk he was at of being caught up with the prince and the others with a million questions. If the others weren't going to recognize him in human form he considered for a moment that in the future the form could have even more advantages for him. Though he felt the need to weigh those options later when he was not so close to being caught.
Walking over the hallway window he knocked it open with his shoulder. Grasping a firm hold on the window as he leaned out of it. Turning back to cast a quick smile in the direction of the other three before leaning back. Allowing his body to fall backwards out the window as the others panicked slightly at the sight of Vorbuk plunging himself backwards out the window of the inn.
"KYAAAA!" "OH MY!"
The second Vorbuk landed on the street outside shouts could be heard from outside the inn on the streets where he had fallen. For someone who had seen him fall from high up to land safely on the ground it was like watching a divine being descend before them. In the eyes of the girls on the street it was something that caused their hearts to pound and faces to flush bright red.
Some of the women on the street tried to approach him almost instantly only to find themselves being brushed away by Vorbuk's cold aura without so much as a word.
Now... To take in this moment while I have the chance. Vorbuk thought to himself as he glanced around the streets of Cista Kingdom. Every way he looked he could see girls fawning over him but none of that registered in his mind. The thing that Vorbuk wanted most after being stuck in the form of an animal for so long was a real meal that he did not have to personally hunt. It was not that he always had to hunt for food because the others would share their meals with him from time to time, but there was a difference in a real meal and table scraps that was simple tossed in his direction out of pity or because another was full.
"Right.. I don't have any way of paying for real food though.." Vorbuk muttered under his breath as he paced his way through the streets of Cista with food on his mind. Anything would be good as long as it was actually prepared for him.
