Vorbuk sat across from guild master Seon as the princess sat down beside him quietly. Her gaze was observing them both. Knowing that she had no idea what they were doing there Vorbuk knew she was being cautious of what she did. The princess was worried she would say something wrong.
"I have a matter I would like to discuss with you, but first.. I would like to know if there has been any news regarding Cadirade?" Vorbuk tried to sound confident as he spoke. He wanted to make sure Seon did not loose interest in working with him.
"Cadirade?" Seon took a deep look into Vorbuk's eyes and understood that he was not talking about small matters. Unsure of what his intent was he was tempted to ask. That temptation was only brief because he did not want to carry the risk of getting too deeply involved in matters that brought him no benefit.
As a man of his position he did not take risks that weren't worth the outcome to him. Unless a task held a benefit he found worthy he would ignore anyone's request. Seon was even known to bluntly refuse tasks directly requested by the king himself.
Once the king of Cista had requested him to do a task on finding out information on a location that had been taken over by a herd of wild beasts. The beasts had migrated but were getting too close to a village so he asked Seon to take care of the matter.
Feeling that the task was too boring for his taste Seon refused the king directly the moment he heard the request come from his mouth. The king was left baffled because he could not do much to scold Seon even if he refused him in front of other nobles. In the end caved to Seon's demands in order to make him do the job. Whether it was paperwork or physical labor Seon hated doing it.
Guild Master Seon was given a large portion of the beast meat other useful parts. It resulted in many of the furnishings being crafted that currently fill the second floor of the guild. The meat he received many questioned what he did with it. Nobody ever found out where the meat supply went because the quantity was large enough to feed him for the next year. Little did anyone know that Seon secretly donated the meat directly to the local orphanage.
"My group is from there.. I want to know how serious things have gotten. I'm sure you understand." Vorbuk verified the guild master's thoughts while returning the glare with his own. The deep glare from Vorbuk sending shivers down Seon's spine for a moment.
I feel like prey before a wild beast with those red eyes of his.. Tsk! Seon thought as he clicked his tongue. He had no idea that the man before him really was a wolf. The guild master's long ears twitched uncomfortably.
"Very well. The Cadirade King held a meeting recently.. There's word the queen of Axania fled in anger over the incident of the dragons fighting in the middle of a mortal kingdom. It goes against the dragon race's own law to get involved in human affairs." Seon spoke in a manner as if he was amused at the thought of the queen of dragons storming out of the Cadirade palace. It was something he would have enjoyed watching personally. Most people were aware of how much pride the dragon race held for themselves.
"Would she do something..?" Vorbuk was simply talking to himself quietly but Seon's ears could easily pick up the quiet words he spoke.
"It is possible she will try to deal with the dragon who got involved in the fight later." Seon smiled kindly though there was no kindness in his eyes. It was more like his eyes said he held no interest in the matter at all. Whatever happened to the dragon had nothing to do with him.
"Receiving punishment from his kingdom in the future because he stepped in to help a kingdom not get destroyed.. How honorable of them. Anything else lately on Cadirade? Or Prince Curtis?" Vorbuk mocked the idea.
"I don't know why you have such an interest.. but Prince Curtis as far as I know is on the battle field. Everyone knows of that news. Things revolving around the royal families like that aren't that hard to find.. It's the ones who dodge their own royal duties or simply run away from home.. that are harder to locate." Seon responded as he glanced over at Isis.
"Right. So he must be keeping low for now.." Vorbuk was deeply thinking. He had only ran into prince Curtis while they were in Cadirade but he had a simple understanding of what kind of person that prince was.
"A prince like Curtis who gets caught assaulting a maid and thrown onto the battlefield under the watch of the general.. If he leaves that situation I'm sure the whole continent would hear about it quickly." Seon did not like prince Curtis in the least. He considered Curtis no different then trash that needed disposed of. Though he had no intent to voice his opinion out loud in front of others that easily. Insulting royal family members from any kingdom was a dangerous thing to do.
Seeing the frustrated look on Vorbuk's face Seon tilted his head slightly. He had realized the princess beside Vorbuk had not spoken a word since she had entered with him. Pouring Vorbuk a glass of wine he carefully handed it over to him over the table. Watching as Vorbuk take a drink, deep in thought, before continuing their conversation.
"Shall we continue further with the real reason you came here?" Seon asked with a bright expression. Excitement to get straight to the point filled him as he hated delaying matters more then necessary.
Vorbuk knew the man would want to get down to the real reason so instead of wasting his time he glanced over to Isis beside him. Without a word spoken between them she knew he wanted to ask for her to wait outside the room so they could talk privately. Both of them understood that they had not known each other very long and so he was not ready to let her in on every topic he wanted to speak with the guild master about. Especially since they both knew what the future held in store for father when Vorbuk made it to Theapan.
"I shall wait outside the guild for you.. Just find me when you're ready to go." Princess Isis sighed as she stood up and quietly left the room. She knew she had no reason to refuse leaving and yet she still felt the desire to stay.
Leaving the room she quickly left the guild in order to wait for Vorbuk outside where it was less crowded. Large crowds were not something she was fond of.
"Seems like a nice girl." Seon casually said as he took a sip of wine from his own glass the moment things were silent.
"I'd like to make a deal with your guild." Vorbuk suddenly spoke his intention for coming to see guild master Seon.
