Duels. Part 1

Via got to the classroom first, because she had the ninja class. And waited on the last row of chairs. The classroom looked like a mini events hall. There were chairs for everyone, and a ring on the front. The professor was a woman on her 30s. She had blue, long hair and was serious. Soon enough, students begun to enter, and Marcus and Joshua got to the chairs to the left of Via. Ebony decided to sit on her right.

Ebony- hey! You are Via Melody, right?

Via- 'that's right, Ebony. I'm surprised you remembered after asking everyone their names.'

Ebony- well, I usually just remember those interesting, you know? Like a noble, and amusing girl. Or a mute but strong girl...

Via- 'what makes you say I'm strong?'

Ebony- I can feel the magic inside the people... and yours is very unique. It's... yummy.

Via- 'my magic is... yummy?'

Ebony- yes, yes. Anyway, we'll see if you are strong or not on this class, right? Oh! And before you show whatever you can, can I be on your team? Please?

Via- 'you know everyone, right? Why us?'

Ebony- I want to be closer to your magic! It's tasty, and I have a good feeling coming from your team.

Via- 'I see, but the leader is Marcus. He's the one you should ask.'

Ebony- eh? That's weird...

Via- 'he's the most intelligent person on the team, and I can't talk. What did you expect?'

Ebony-... now that you say so... okay! I'll talk with him after the duels.

The professor got up from her desk, and walked to the center of the ring.

???- now that everyone is here, we are going to do some duels. I am Caroline Danvers. Professor Danvers for you. And I'm a shields witch. I can create almost any type of shield, and that's how we are doing this duels. I'll put a shield around your body, and if someone gets hit hard enough to kill that person, I'll stop the duel. Obviously, with my shields here, you won't be able to kill your opponents, so go all out. Any questions so far? ... no? ... good. The winner of the first duel, will fight again, and again until they lose, and the winner of that duel will be the one to stay. Now, I'll get the first ones myself. Marcus Windhill... against... Nereid. Come to the ring.

Marcus got up, and went to his side on the ring. Nereid got ready on her side, and she took a sword and a shield. Marcus prepared himself as he uses his fists. A shield then appeared around both of them.

Caroline- prepared?... fight!

Nereid rushed forward, and attacked with her sword. Marcus dodged crouching, and then he kicked her in the chest. Or he tried. She defended herself with the shield, and pushed forward when the kick connected with the shield. That threw Marcus to the floor, and Nereid managed to put her sword on the neck of Marcus.

Caroline- and that's the first duel. Winner Nereid! Marcus, go back to your chair.

Marcus got back to his seat, and Via was hoping that she would be one of the last.

Via- (if they get me... should I lose...?)

[don't even think about it. If this is a hidden test, you have to give your best]

Via- (but I don't want the attention!)

[you'll be one of the strongest... you will get attention always. Get used to it.]

Caroline- next, Via Melody.

Via- (oh! Come on! That's -)

[go.]

Via- (fine, fine...)

Via got into the ring, and felt the shield around her. She was against Nereid so she decided that she would show her how a true knight fights.

Via- (I can't believe that she's a knight and does not have a spear... change of class, knight.)

Via changed her class from ninja to knight, and everyone was looking surprised.

Caroline- ... prepared? ... fight!

Nereid rushed forward, but I stopped her with the spear. She had to dodge my spear, and get an opening to enter sword range. But we are still kids, so she tried to overpower me with brute force and her shield up. I stabbed on her leg, and she felt it even if the shield of the professor wouldn't let me damage her leg. I sidestepped her shield then, and drew my sword from the sheath, cutting her on the side.

Caroline- that's enough. Winner Via!

Via- (oh, man... I hope that someone is stronger than me...)

[hahahahaha... you can dream]

Via- (... you are cruel...)

Caroline- next, Joshua Brown.

Via- (hmm... I have to try something. Change of class, Ninja.)

Joshua got in front of Via, and got into an Iaido stance. She drew her ninjato, and got ready. The professor felt something but went with it.

Caroline- (she's less straightforward than I thought...) prepared? ... fight!

Via went forward recklessly, and Joshua attacked expecting a reaction. That didn't happen. Via crouched more, and the sword was going to her neck at a dangerous speed. He stopped the attack, and she stabbed him in the chest. Even if it didn't do anything thanks to the professor's shield.

Caroline- winner Via.

Via- 'we have to talk later, Joshua' *puff*

Everyone was surprised that Via exploded in smoke, but then Via entered the ring from the right.

Joshua- w-what?

Via- that was a copy of me I made with ninjutsu. In the case of you actually cutting me, I wasn't going to lose.

Joshua looked at me, conflicted, and went to his seat.

Caroline- ...next Ebony.
