Shocking Discovery

The Profound Ark abruptly stopped which woke Aerion. The nightmare had stopped haunting him for some reason so he could finally rest. He left his fire room and met with the two sect masters of the Flame God Realm.

"This king is going to take a closer look at the God Burying Inferno Prison. Aerion, you will stay here. Do not even think of approaching the God Burying Inferno Prison. I shall leave you to the care of the sect masters for now, until the horned dragon is slain."

Aerion slowly nodded his head, while the thought of exploring the God Burying Inferno Prison struck him. "I'll try my best."

Mu Xuanyin looked at him for a few seconds before turning around and vanishing from everyone's view. The sect masters breathed a long sigh of relief the moment she left. The higher class individuals of the Flame God Realm started to gather around, this included Huo Rulie. Clearly, he had avoided travelling with Mu Xuanyin due to the matters of the past.

"Hmm... Aerion Targaryen... Divine Soul Realm level Nine!?"

Yan Wancang laughed. "A lot of hard work, apparently."

"Really...?"

"Battle power along with unparalleled cultivation speed... the Snow Song Realm King is much more fortunate than first thought." Yan Juehai stated.

Aerion coughed. "Anyway, there are more important matters at hand such as the ancient horned dragon."

Huo Rulie nodded. "Yes, that is very important. I would like to speak with you about that other matter, in private."

Aerion turned to Izanami and Robb. "Excuse me for a moment."

Aerion walked with Huo Rulie away from the others. "You once stated that you could fully cure my son... how confident are you in this?"

"One hundred per cent." Aerion confidently replied. "He'll be back to normal in a few moments."

"A few... moments?"

Aerion nodded. "You heard that right. I doubt there's any better doctor than I, however, I don't quite have the reputation. Nor do I wish to have it... it is your choice, in the end."

"S... Sect... Sect Master!!!" A middle-aged man who wore the proud Golden Crow robes approached Huo Rulie.

"What is it?"

"The... the Young Master... Young Master's health... it has deteriorated greatly... he might not be able to hold on... for much longer."

"W... what!?" Golden Crow flames erupted from his body as he let loose. His gaze met Aerion before he flew off. "You will come with me!"

Rotias chuckled. "How convenient, his desperation will lead him directly to you."

How in Seven Hells does he expect me to keep up with him? He's a peak Divine Sovereign while I'm only at the Divine Soul Realm!

Aerion sighed as he tried his best to keep up. Huo Rulie did not let up so Aerion simply had to follow his tracks. By the time he caught up, Huo Rulie was by his withering son. He was practically at death's doors, just one more step and he would be a dead man.

This... I did not expect it to be this bad. If someone were to do this to my son, I too would never forgive them.

Aerion perfectly understood Huo Rulie's hostility towards the Snow Song Realm King and this made him all the more determined to help his son.

"My Ye'er... can you save him?"

I just... this sight is just too pitiful.

His eyes turned red as he activated his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. The source of many of his powers... the most heaven-defying being the one which rejects reality and bends it to his will.

I declare that your injuries don't exist, Huo Ye, rise anew!

Izanagi.

"There, he's saved." Aerion wiped the blood from his eye. Huo Rulie's eyes widened further as every moment passed. His son, who wasn't far from dying, had just completely recovered... almost instantly! The injuries which would have killed him a thousand years ago if it weren't for countless precious resources and medicines... they were all gone!

Huo Ye was even more shocked. It took him many long seconds to realise what just happened. Aerion watched as father and son embraced each other in joy. He couldn't help but smile a little.

This moment is its own reward. I haven't even thought of a reward... well, money isn't exactly a problem. Perhaps, some pills? The most important thing is that the Flame God Realm and Snow Song Realm will be on good terms again, especially after the ancient horned dragon is slain.

"I dare not ask how you healed my son... but I, Huo Rulie, am in your eternal debt! You not only saved him but you also saved my lineage... how could I possibly repay you?"

Aerion shook his head. "There's no need for that. At most, all you owe me is a small favour. Do not speak freely of this matter either, I'd rather not have strangers knocking at my door."

"Yes... of course, I won't speak of this to anyone else."

"Good, I'll be on my way." Aerion turned around.

"I don't know my savour's name..."

"This King's name is Aerion Targaryen."

"Then I owe my life to you, Aerion Targaryen." Huo Ye solemnly stated.

Aerion chuckled. "Good to know."

He left the scene and retraced his steps to where the Profound Ark was. Both Yan Wancang and Yan Juehai had already left which meant that Robb and Izanami were left alone. Clearly, the hunt was far more important than two Divine Origin Realm guests. It made Aerion shake his head.

So much for the protection of the Flame God Realm's sect masters.

"That was a pretty long moment if I do say so myself," Robb stated. "The sect masters left us in the dust as well, as you can see."

"Eh, we don't need them. Now we can explore this 'God Burying Inferno Prison' without anyone getting in the way and, if we're lucky, stumble upon a few treasures!"

"What if we 'stumble' upon the ancient horned dragon?" Izanami questioned.

"Then we run." Aerion jested.

"Running from a Divine Master dragon... sounds like a great plan to me," Robb added.

"Well if we were to encounter the ancient horned dragon, then its luck has truly run out. I have two Heavenly Treasures, both of which would have no trouble slaying it. But I would rather not show them off in public."

"Otherwise, someone may steal it off you, Lord?"

"Only one of them... the other, they would try to keep it as far away as possible. Anyway, we should get going."

"Indeed."

~

The God Burying Inferno Prison wasn't as impressive as Aerion expected it to be. The place was mostly a wasteland comprised of only fire. There were a few herbs here and there, all of which Aerion harvested. The Sky Poison Pearl could flawlessly refine any kind of medical pellet... that kind of power should be used as much as possible. Aerion wanted Izanami and Robb to catch up to him in cultivation strength sooner than later so high-grade pills would definitely be of some use to him.

Since low-level cultivators tend to be harmed by the rather aggressive environment that is the God Burying Inferno Prison, Aerion naturally shielded Izanami and Robb with his Susanoo.

ROAAAR.

A thunderous roar broke out, one which shook the firmament.

"That... was that the ancient horned dragon?"

Aerion nodded. "I believe so. My Master should begin her battle with the dragon soon... which means that the dragon's lair will be left undefended. But, not a single sect master of the Flame God Realm ever managed to reach the bottom of the God Burying Inferno Prison. It must be quite frightening down there... but, as long as its comprised of fire, I should be able to explore the lair and come out unharmed."

"Then we should be able to do the same, under your Susanoo," Izanami stated.

"Mhm, let's make our way there."

After a few hours of searching, they had found the flame vein. The flame vein was the exact reason why the God Burying Inferno Prison even existed. The ancient horned dragon relied on the primordial flame vein to grow strong... without it, the dragon wouldn't be anywhere near the Divine Master Realm.

The dragon lair was a major disappointment, there wasn't anything inside of it. Not even a single dragon scale... it would seem that their journey was wasted until Robb looked further.

"Lord... there seem to be two lairs."

"Two?" Aerion looked rather puzzled.

Why would the ancient horned dragon have two lairs? What was even more strange was that both of the lairs were identical. Aerion compared the dragon auras from both lairs and they were almost the same... however, he found some differences.

"That means that there very well could be two ancient horned dragons... I doubt your Master is capable of fighting both."

Izanami's comment made Aerion's suspicions grow further. Two ancient horned dragons... the chance of that being true grew by the moment. There were many clues pointing towards it, after all.

If it's true... then Master is in grave danger. The other ancient horned dragon may be waiting for a perfect opportunity to strike which could result in fatal wounds. She might be unable to escape after that... the ancient horned dragons are unlikely to be merciful... which means...

Aerion turned away from the dragon lairs.

"We're leaving... Master needs to know about this as soon as possible!"
