Robb barely won against Jun Xilei since she didn't give him much room to breathe after the match started. After the day came to an end, only three contestants remained; Izanami, Robb and Aerion. The two Losers would face each other tomorrow to determine who would face the undefeated Izanami. However, it didn't exactly matter who won in the remaining battles as they were all from the Snow Song Realm. Three out of the Four Conferred God Children belonged to the Snow Song Realm, a Middle-Rank Star Realm, something like this was unprecedented even when it came to the mightiest of High-Rank Star Realms!
~Meanwhile, in Blue Pole Star~
Aurion was reading an interesting book in the most beautiful garden in Dragon's Heavenly Palace and perhaps the Blue Pole Star. Being the firstborn son of the Celestial Dragon Emperor, the supreme ruler of the entire world, certainly had some benefits. All of the resources one could imagine, profound arts and weapons, along with the best educators. Aerion spent most of his childhood in exile and far from home... even though this experience strengthened him, he missed out on many things.
One of the main reasons as to why he set out to conquer was to provide his children with the best lives possible.
It had worked.
From some distance, stood Fen Juecheng. He was assigned to Aurion most of the time, acting as his bodyguard. This was one of the main duties of a member of the prestigious Dragonsguard, after all.
"Senior Juecheng, can we leave the Palace already?" Aurion asked.
"Why would you want to do that, your Royal Highness?"
"I want to see the outside world, of course! I'm in the Emperor Profound Realm so it's a good time to gain some experience on my own."
"... You can't do that yet."
"Huh, why not? With you by my side, no one can pose a threat to me! Unless it's the Heavenly Demon or Aunt Caiyi. Maybe the Phoenix Goddess as well... none of those people would ever harm me so what's the real reason?"
"It's your Royal Mother's order..."
"Mother worries too much. As my Dragonsguard, it is your duty to follow my instructions directly." Aurion smiled. "And so, I've decided that we're going on a tour around the Profound Sky Continent starting with the Blue Wind Kingdom. We have the best relations there and I'd like to visit my grandfather, along with a few sects. We can go to the Burning Heaven Clan, too... don't worry, if anything happens, I'll tell Mother it's all my fault."
"Very well." Fen Juecheng nodded and smiled. "It seems that you are developing a golden tongue... hmph, that is good. His Imperial Majesty would be proud."
"One of the main reasons as to why I want to go to the Blue Wind Kingdom in the first place is because that is where my father's cultivation journey started. This book here has detailed every known step of his and, although it is exaggerated, most of the information seems to be accurate with public knowledge. We'll be following from the very start..."
"I believe His Imperial Majesty contributed to its creation."
"He did?"
"Yes, he did add a few of his touches and approved it personally."
"The Legend Of Aerion Targaryen... this small detail makes the book far more valuable than it should be."
"His Imperial Majesty had left it in the Royal Library on purpose, so that his children may read it someday."
Aurion smiled. "Another gift... his last visit was quite some time ago, but I'm sure that father is busy with an important matter in the God Realm. He'll be back soon enough... maybe with some Aunts, too."
"The God Realm is vast so I doubt that there is any lack of beauties. However, His Imperial Majesty has extremely high standards."
"Maybe there are still some potential Aunts on Blue Pole Star? I suppose it is my duty to find them for father since he's busy with growing stronger in the God Realm. You'll help me... right, Senior Dragonsguard?"
Fen Juecheng nodded. "It is a service to his Imperial Majesty so I have no issue in it."
"It's settled then!" Aurion rose to his feet and stored the book in his storage ring.
~
Aerion faced Robb on the Conferred God Stage. Now, most people knew who would emerge as the victor but some had their doubts ever since Aerion was defeated so easily by Izanami. It looked like he had started day-dreaming during the match... who knows, that might potentially happen again.
"Should I concede, My Lord?"
"There's no need." Aerion smiled. "I order you to fight me at your best... do not even think of holding anything back."
"As you wish."
"Aerion Targaryen and Robb, both of whom represent the Snow Song Realm, you may begin your battle!"
Aerion stood still while Robb charged him with his spear. Then a crimson hand made out of profound energy emerged and grabbed the spear at the last second. This hand was a part of his Susanoo, of course. The hand was also accompanied by a ribcage to protect him. Robb used A Thousand Cuts to strike the hand and free his spear. After that, he took a step back.
Another arm emerged soon emerged, however, this arm held a sword which Aerion had materialised. The other arm was also armed with a sword right after.
"That isn't fair..." Robb sighed.
"Neither is kicking another man's most sacred part, but both are completely legal. How about you try out that profound skill instead of complaining?"
"I suppose that's the only way."
Aerion chuckled. "Not that I'd let you."
The swords disappeared and were replaced by a bow. Aerion created an arrow made out of wind profound energy. The right arm grabbed the bow and the left loaded the arrow since Aerion preferred using his left eye.
"That arrow is really strong... but it means nothing if I can dodge it."
"Who said it was just one arrow?" Aerion smiled.
Robb's confidence dropped when the arrow split into a hundred arrows but he remained determined because of what Aerion had ordered previously. He flew further away from the Susanoo, giving himself enough distance to dodge.
Aerion released the first volley of arrows and, although his aim was perfect, most of the arrows missed the mark except for three. The second volley was slightly more deadly... and so was the third. Aerion kept increasing the difficulty on purpose, bringing out more of Robb's power. By the tenth volley, Robb had finally brought out the incomplete, golden, lion aura.
"Burning eyes seems to be the first stage, followed by the slightly red eyes and golden glow in the second stage. Now, this looks to be the third stage, am I correct?"
"Yes... I suppose so." Robb replied, breathing heavily. His entire body was painted in his blood yet, in truth, he was further from Death's Door than one might think at first glance. All of his wounds had closed almost as quickly as they were made. His regenerative abilities were comparable to Aerion's dragon scale regeneration, something that seems to be a trend among the Ancestral Gods.
"Then let's continue. Perhaps, the fourth stage will emerge in time."
...
Many, many and many more volleys later, nothing changed except for the fact that Robb was at the gates of the Divine Spirit Realm. He only required one more push and his tribulation lightning would trigger.
"So there is no fourth stage and I might have an idea as to why."
He does not have Naeron's soul which is why the lion's aura is so unstable.
"Do I breakthrough into the Divine Spirit Realm, My Lord?"
Aerion nodded. "With all these Divine Masters, containing it should be rather simple. Now is a better time than ever especially with me by your side."
In the Eternal Heaven Pearl, he might die and in the Seventh Heaven Realm, he would cause unnecessary damage to my perfect world. Keeping his potential a secret would not prove to be beneficial in the slightest at this point as well.
"I'll do it then."
Suddenly, the sky darkened with dark clouds. These clouds continued to grow in number and size, covering the Eastern Divine Region in just a few minutes.
Aerion chuckled. "You'll be famous after this."
The dark clouds expanded to most of the Southern Divine Region and some of the Northern Divine Region. That was where it stopped.
"His heavenly tribulation lightning is inferior to yours, I doubt he'll have eleven rounds as you did but ten is possible," Rotias stated. "This is truly intriguing since it suggests that your potential might even surpass the Ancestral God Realm."
The Transcendent Being must be trembling in his boots, eh?
"He doesn't wear boots."
You know what I'm trying to say, Rotias.
BOOM.
The surrounding Divine Masters of the Eastern Divine Region swiftly activated a formation and prepared for the lightning to strike. The calm attitude of Aerion was quite remarkable as he stood right next to Robb instead of running away from the forthcoming disaster. The Brahma Heaven God Emperor and his dear daughter, the Brahma Monarch Goddess, certainly had an idea as to why he was so calm.
This heavenly tribulation lightning, albeit frightening, was lacking when compared to the one which had eleven rounds. If Aerion could survive the eleventh round, why would he be afraid of something inferior to it?
BOOM.
The first round struck Robb and he seemed to be relatively unharmed. The second, third, fourth, fifth and even sixth round passed and Robb had yet to fall to the ground. His wounds were minor at best. The seventh and eighth round, which featured red lightning, did achieve something the previous rounds could not. They severely wounded him.
"How many... more? I stopped... counting..."
"Two more, I believe," Aerion replied.
The tenth... it was the one which killed me and overcame the lightning immunity granted by the Evil God's lightning seed. I'll have to intervene with that round in some way.
The lightning turned white as the ninth round had begun.
BOOM.
After the ninth round ended, the dark clouds started to disappear. Aerion was confused as, in theory, Robb should have as many rounds as him, not two less!
Aerion used Izanagi to erase Robb's wounds and restore both of their clothes. His left hand was covered in silver scales as he was gathering the energy from the tribulation lightning. He was about to grant Robb the profound energy but he rejected it.
"No, My Lord, you should keep it for yourself."
"... I can't, it's yours in the first place."
"Then I'm giving it to you, cultivating is harder for you anyway so you need it more than I do. It is the least I can do after you gave me all of those resources. Besides, you're not going into the Eternal Heaven Pearl for three thousand years."
Aerion smiled. "I don't deserve such a loyal subject and friend."
"Heh, that's a blatant lie... you deserve everything you have, especially my loyalty. I've never actually given you something worthy of any value... while you gave me everything."
"Nonsense." Aerion shook his head. "You gave me your service."
"It is only natural to follow someone like you, My Lord, I dare say that it is the greatest gift a man can ask for. Now take the damn white lightning before I start crying."
Aerion laughed. "Alright, I will."
Aerion absorbed the lightning and added it to his cultivation strength. This process was not perfect, he did lose some of the lightning but that's not unexpected.
Divine King Realm Stage Three... Four... and almost five.
Aerion opened his eyes.
"Now you better not slack off in those three years, My Lord, or I might surpass you," Robb remarked.
Aerion chuckled. "I'm not one to slack off."
"Now I'll go out of bounds and get some well-needed rest."
Robb walked off the Conferred God Stage and went in the direction of the Snow Song Realm's palace.
"N-nine rounds... this is unprecedented!" Cang Shitian stated.
"No, it is not. There's still the heavenly genius who triggered eleven rounds." The Brahma Heaven God Emperor smiled while looking at the figure of Aerion Targaryen.
"It is not hard to guess who this heavenly genius is any longer." The Dragon Monarch stated.
"He made it clear." The Eternal Heaven God Emperor nodded in agreement. "The Eastern Divine Region is truly blessed to have such exceptional geniuses. It is unlikely that we will see a generation like this in our lifetimes and so, they must be protected."
He stood up from his seat, ready to send out an offer to Aerion Targaryen.
