Grandmother Meng's Shop!

With his mother finally awake. Liu Leng was able to let out a sigh of relief while now he could fully focus on finding some way to get the second-degree pill.

The second-degree pills were known in the six wandering villages to be incredibly unique and rare to get. For the only way to get them was to buy them directly from noble families at an astronomical price or obtain them shipped directly from outside the Empty Valley. According to what Liu Leng knew, in the village, the only place that could hopefully get the pill he was looking for is the Xumell family.

Heading toward the tent, as he walked across several dirt streets. Liu Leng could not help but stop in a corner and observe with a frown as he saw several guards in the distance wearing shimmering armor that seemed to reflect the glow of the sun and a badge on their shields that showed the drawing of two intertwined flowers along with a golden arch in the center. This insignia was no more and no less than the one belonging to the Xumell Family.

These guards were the guards of the Xumell Family!

Looking at that symbol, Liu Leng could not prevent his eyes from reflecting a gleam of coldness and distaste for these guards. For it could be said that Liu Leng had a terrible impression of both these guards and the Xumell Family itself.

But why was this?

This terrible impression that Liu Leng kept in his heart was due to the first days when his mother fell into a coma. At that time, he was only thirteen years old and young and naive. So when he found himself in that desperate situation and afraid of losing the only person he loves. In his desperation to save his mother, he did not hesitate to decide to run in search of hope towards the Xumell Family.

It is known that the Xumell Family is recognized throughout the village as the greatest power that should guide and protect the people, their work left by the ancestors of the village was always to be in favor of the people and protect them. It is because of it that the small Liu Leng had a small bit of hope and in the middle of a rainy day, he ran desperately towards the mansion of the Xumell Family, falling to the mud on several occasions during the trip.

But when he reached the Xumell Family, he was greeted by cold looking guards who crossed their swords on the way and did not allow him to continue forward.

At that moment, little Liu Leng had been running in the rain and cold weather at full throttle, so his cries for help sounded harsh, hoarse and choppy. But that did not stop him from kneeling at the door of the Xumell family mansion and begin for help for his mother.

But of course... the reality is very cruel that he crushed that little hope that he had in an instant.

Several members who heard him begging for help stopped and looked at him with contemptuous glances. Then leaving him clear cruel words of rejection, they turned around and ignored the young Liu Leng as they ordered the parked guards to drive him away.

The guards smiled fiercely and dragged the young Liu Leng away from the mansion with cruelty and threw him into a pool of dirty water and excrement, clearly demonstrating the cruelty and wickedness of their hearts.

Remembering those ugly memories of the past, they made Liu Leng clench her teeth in anger and turn around. He continued his journey until he stopped in front of a small shop on the side of the village's main street.

The small shop was built rustically from old wood, with a roof slightly tilted downwards and a large sign hanging from the ceiling showing the name of the shop written in beautiful calligraphy that didn't seem to go very well with the rustic, poor look of the shop.

Liu Leng entered through the door into the tent in where he was greeted by a warm old woman who approached with a kind smile on her wrinkled face.

"Welcome!" said the old woman with a big welcoming smile. But when she realized that the new client was Liu Leng, she recognized him; "Oh~ little Leng. Today I have some vegetables I have left over!"

The old woman turned around and picked up a small basket of vegetables that was stored on the side of the shelves and offered it to Liu Leng. Of course, Liu Leng did not refuse the gift and bowed deeply with gratitude and respect to this old woman who had helped him over the last few years, occasionally giving him some vegetables and fruits that she had left over from her sales.

This old woman was already a woman very old. That her hair was incredibly very white demonstrating her advanced age, she was short and with a slight hump on her back. Her face was full of wrinkles but that did not diminish the value of her radiant, kind smile on her face.

Formerly, this old woman named Meng, was once a close friend of his mother, Liu Luxue, and because this grandmother Meng in the past, when she became ill, received help and care from his mother Liu Luxue. That is why she felt indebted to his mother and therefore whenever she could, she would give vegetables and fruits to Liu Leng to help him and to his mother.

Of all the people in the village. After his mother Liu Luxue, this old woman Meng was the person who had treated him best and for that, Liu Leng was incredibly grateful to this old woman showing her great respect.

"Grandmother Meng, I have come to buy some medicinal plants..." Liu Leng said as he reached out his hand and showed her the money he had brought with him.

Grandmother Meng was somewhat hesitant to take Liu Leng's money as she clearly knew about the difficult situation he was going through. But seeing the firm expression in Liu Leng's eyes, she could only receive the money and go pick up the plants named by Liu Leng.

Finishing the purchase. Liu Leng said goodbye with a bow and left the store, leaving behind grandmother Meng who sighed when she saw him leave, while she slightly denied with a trail of dejection to see that a young boy like Liu Leng was going through such a difficult situation at such a young age.
