General POV
Now that the Kage all agreed to protect the Jinchūriki, they had to be sent to a place hidden from the eyes of the Akatsuki. Since the land of lightning had no Akatsuki members, the Raikage proposed a special island he and B trained on.
To protect Naruto and help him gain control over the Kyuubi, Yamato and Jiraiya would come with him.
Fu would come with them while Mei would send somebody with Utakata to the island the Raikage proposed. B and Yugito would be there too, helping the rest with their Bijuus. There were some differences in helping other Jinchūriki gain control over their bijuu since they were military assets and helping your enemy was a dumb move, but in a situation like this, nobody would be stupid enough to openly complain.
While the Kages made preparations to protect the land of lighting, Ishizu had finished his preparations.
Ishizu POV
I could only shake my head. While everything was set up, I think I overdid it. With Kisame deflecting to Kiri, Obito had no way of knowing where the Jinchūriki were hiding.
"Hmm, my knowledge about the future is almost gone. I can't delay the beginning of the war for too long. There are two options: Either Obito finds out somehow where Naruto and the rest are or Naruto learns that the war has started without him, which should only happen after he gains control of Kurama's chakra."
I could only groan in frustration at the missing information. Well, one thing I could do was to give the alliance as much information about Obito and Kabuto as possible.
"Hey, that's a good idea. Why should I wait for Obito to find where the Jinchūriki are? I can just pass on the information about Obito's hideout. Well, I have to locate it myself first."
I walked towards a small pond where I found Tau meditating. In both of his hands were dumplings, glowing richly in nature energy. He quickly devoured them as he felt my presence approaching him.
"Ah, Sage Ishizu. Did you come to practice the secret art of relaxation?" Tau asked with closed eyes as he took a deep breath.
"Maybe another time. I have some important stuff to do."
"When will you stop rushing things and relax? You are always so eager to move around. Sit with me and learn how nature takes everything slowly."
I glared at the panda, who just responded with a smile.
"I will locate Kabuto's headquarters and you will tell the location to Tsunade."
"This sounds like a bad idea and I would suggest not to peruse it," muttered Tau.
I frowned in response.
"Why?"
"Someone slithery could falsely interpret your little snooping as an attack on one candidate of the Snake Sage. You were forbidden to interact with this Kabuto and while your intentions are not directly harmful, they could be considered a violation and we don't want any conflicts it the snakes."
"Dammit," I clicked my tongue in annoyance, as Tau was right.
Before I could argue, I felt a call from one of my Edo Tensei. It was Yahiko. Guess he saved Konan. At least I saved another person from death. I reversed, summoned him back, and saw him carrying the unconscious blue-haired woman.
"Madara found Nagato's Rinnegan," I heard Yahiko say in frustration.
"That was within my expectations and irrelevant to you. Konan's safety was the main objective. You arrived just in time and rather than fight him, you prioritized saving your friend. Good job." I gave him a thumbs up.
"Your job is done, for now, Yahiko. I will take care of Konan."
I was ready to cut off the connection when his edo eyes met mine. His face was the same as when he died, but in his dead eyes burned a fire.
"What will become of me? Will I return to the dead?" asked Yahiko.
"If I fulfill my dream, I will allow you to choose. You and the other two deserve a happy ending."
I returned Yahiko back into the coffin and began thinking of a way to give Tsunade the information while avoiding Kabuto.
General POV
Unbeknown to Ishizu, Kabuto managed to evolve a few Zetsu clones thanks to Danzo's right arm. With no knowledge about the whereabouts of the Jinchūriki, Kabuto sent one of the new Zetsu to gather information.
Those Zetsus had the ability to transform into any shinobi and become almost indistinguishable from the real one. Disguised as an important noble, one of the Zetsu's found out that the Raikage had the command and was the one most likely to hide them.
"We have a gross area where the Jinchūriki could be hiding," spoke Kabuto as he got the information from the Zetsu.
"The Raikage wants to hide them somewhere in the land of lighting," Kabuto turned towards the cave where, from the shadows, Obito appeared.
Since Konan destroyed the orange mask Obito loved so much, he made a new one resembling the eye of the Ten-Tails. Instead of one eyehole, he now had two, which displayed his Sharingan and the newly acquired Rinnegan. The other one was transplanted into a Zetsu clone under the orders of Black Zetsu.
"Since you found them, I will be the one to get them, am I right?" asked Obito and Kabuto chuckled.
"You can count on me, but I will only confirm their location. I am not stupid to engage 5 Jinchūriki together with those that protect them."
"Only the location. Once we find them, it will be only a matter of time until the Zetsus and your Edo Tensei will overrun," said Obito before leaving.
During that time, Naruto, Fu, Jiraiya and Yamato arrived on the island turtle, where they met up with the rest of the Jinchūriki. Yugito already met Naruto, and it was she who introduced him to Killer B.
They immediately hit off and Killer B showed the other Jinchūriki the Waterfalls of Truth. Everyone but Naruto was amazed at how it worked. Only Naruto remembered his time with Ishizu.
"I had done something similar," spoke Naruto, gaining everyone's attention.
"That's not possible," countered Yugito. "There is only one of those here in the elemental nations."
"That's correct, Yugito. Only in the elemental nations. During my trip with Jiraiya, Ishizu and I were in the summoning of the pandas and there was something called the Waterfall of Endless Happiness. It showed such a realistic version of life that when Ishizu tried to get me out, I didn't want to. We ended up in a fight and he somehow made me come to my senses."
With those words, Naruto sat down in front of the waterfall and meditated.
Naruto POV
I opened my eyes to see movement behind the waterfall. Remaining calm, I waited for whatever appeared before me, since I had nothing to fear.
"Finally, I can meet you."
A voice spoke up, and the waterfall parted and out came... another Naruto.
His eyes showed a dark sclera while the pupils were a crimson red.
"But he isn't the only one," another person spoke, which even surprised the other Naruto.
"Who are you two?" I asked calmly. There was no need to antagonize somebody I knew nothing about.
The first one turned back to me. His dark eyes narrowed. Going by his facial expression, he wasn't happy to see me.
"I am you. The darkness inside your heart. Formed from the various encounters you had with the people of Konoha. You may call me Yami," the new named Yami spoke before looking at his body.
"Though I am not as strong as I would like to be. To think he would accept us as."
"I don't understand?"
In response, Yami snapped his fingers, and a scene appeared before the three of us.
It was the scene where I was kicked out of the store when I wanted to buy clothes. I remembered how I was angry since other people could buy things while I was denied rudely. One other merchant wanted to get my money and just as I was about to buy the overpriced orange jacket, Ishizu came and helped me.
"This man. He is the reason for my appearance. Look at him and how he looks at me. No hatred, no disgust. There is only compassion. I was formed at that time, but he interrupted my growth."
I could only nod at this, but then I turned towards the other Naruto. This one looked different from him and Yami, as he called him. Unlike the former, who had a resemblance to me, this one had a much whiter skin color. Two small horns emerged on his forehead, and his eyes were the dōjutsu from Hinata, the Byakugan.
"While Yami represents hatred, I represent love. Unquestionable love and devotion. We have met many times, but you don't remember it. You may call me Hikari. I was formed from the love you have towards everyone and everything. From Konoha, to your friends...but most of all, Ishizu-niisan," Hikari spoke with a smile.
Naruto wanted to retaliate against the claim of love towards Ishizu, but the words he wanted to say were stuck in his throat. After he met his father, Naruto began to doubt Ishizu's motivation, but he couldn't bring himself over the betrayal.
"If you can't accept it, then disappear," Hikari spoke with her smile forming thinner.
"What? You don't tell me what to do," retaliated Naruto.
"I just did."
"Who are you to tell us what to do?" Yami frowned.
"Together, Yami and I, we represent the person Naruto Uzumaki. Unlike you, who rejected your sensei for what he has done, we both accepted Ishizu Sasaki in different ways, for he helped create us."
Suddenly the Byakugan turned into the Rinnegan.
"If you can't accept him, we will cleanse you out of this body."
"Die!" Yami was the first to attack.
