Chapter 6: three is a charm
Next day, Ru Lans alarm rang and woke her up, she always wakes up at 6am everday even though today is a Saturday and she is on leave from work. She woke up, stretched herself and tidied her bed as she came down from her bed, its another brand new day she said as she walked uo to he closet and changed her clothes into her sports wear ready for her normal morning routine, coffee and her morning run. She came out of her room listening to music with her ear peice while humming along and dancing. She made her way into Ru Leis room and opened the door without knocking, Lei im ready lets go for our ru... she didnt finish her sentence as she saw Ru Leis face, oh Shiiit! She said as what she saw threw her into shock.
Lei turned to look at her as her face was drained of colour with huge eyebags on her face and she was still working on her desk with the desk light on and no intention of stopping... Uhhhhh! Lei she said as she scratched her head and removed her ear peice, i know youre dedicated to your work and that you are a first class employee and all and FYN GROUP is locky to have you in their legal team but today is Saturday sis, that kindda rings rest day remember! She said with sarcasm lacing her voice. Lei didnt even turn to look at her or respond to her talks as she concentrated on her work. She continued... im all for seriousness and all and nobody is more serious than me, i mean when im in the OR of course but youve seriously beat me this time, if you dont look at me i promise im going to go find your boss with my scapel just you wait... she turned to leave.
I wish i could go find my boss too and kill him, but you cant get within a mile radius of him, all the other branches have released little information about his coldness and aloofness and i definitely dont want to be the next one in the chopping block you know. I got a call last night saying that the new big boss is going to inspect our new acquisition today, i mean who does inspections on a Saturday lannie... i feel like im going to cry but i cant let my first impression in the eyes of the boss be as a slacker, he just retured from A NATION to fully take over FYN GROUP OF INDUSTRIES in N NATION. Plus i heard he has been firing people from left and right in the other branches. Im sorry Lannie but i have to get back to this before the said mighty boss will rain fire and brimstones on me, plus i even heard he's as cold as a mountain of ice...uhhhh! she said.
Good luck Lei, Ru Lan said as she pats her sister on the shoulder to give her strength. I hate your big boss and im still gonna kill him when i see him. She said as she turned to leave to go for her morning run. About an hour later she returned to her room and saw someone going through her closet, she narrowed her eyes as she looked at the person, only one person can do that, go through her closet without a care in the world as if it belonged to them.
We have to go shopping lannie, your closet is a Mess all you have here are trousers and hoodies, are you really a lady? . She sighed in frustration as she looked at the girl smiling at her like a kid that just received her favourite toy. It was her best friend Li Mei. Mei mei today is the first free Saturday I've had in a long time and you want me to go shopping? I'm suppose to be resting today, i had a long week. She said. Thats why im taking you out today Li mei said as she brimmed with happiness. NO, Ru Lan said without even thinking twice...
Even though we will be shopping for free at someone elses expense, Li mei asked trying to convince her best friend. NO, Ru Lan replied again without looking at the pouting girl. Even though its the VVIP section with limited edition bags, Li mei asked with a smile, as she saw her bestfriend a little flustered. Shes trying to bait me i cant agree with this young lady Ru Lan thought, yet she was already doubting her resolution as she heard about the limited edition bags. She shook her head. Nope she said as she made her way to the bathroom to freshen up. Li Mei knew that she was losing her chance to make her cousin meet with Ru Lan as that was her original plan, so she said, even if its FYN GROUP mall and were using the big bosss card? She asked as she knew that that was her last move. She saw that Ru lan stopped moving and smiled.
That was the icing on the cake for our dear Lannie, her heart immediately leapt in joy as she turned around faking a i dont care look. Well! Since you insist and i need to find a way to punish Lei's boss, spending his money doesn't seem like a bad start, especially when I don't even know the guy, hehehe (evil laughter) plus i can even save uncle Ks card to use another time, hmmmm this doesnt sound like a bad plan she thought and had an evil smirk on her face. Fine Ill go she said. Little did Dr Ru Lan know that even if she were to buy the entire FYN GROUP mall, our big boss Jason will not even feel it and will even jump up in joy that she spent his money.
Two hours later, Ru Lan and Li mei were inside the lounge in the mall sipping their red wine as they had not started shopping yet. She raised her head and saw a couple of legs walking inside the hall in an organized fashion; she looked up to see the face of the man in front.
That when she gasped and blurted out without realizing it... prince charming she said, whats that? Li mei asked and Ru lan looked at her best friend breaking her concentration, she pointed to the direction of the guy she just saw but he had already left. Li Mei turned around and didnt see anyone... what is it? she asked Ru lan... Ru Lan piped up at the question and decided to tell her friend about her encounter with prince charming yesterday... prince charming Really! Li mei asked her friend with a doubting expression on her face... thinking God No!
Its our second encounter and i have a feeling were going to meet again Ru Lan said... and three is a charm... she said as she smiled mischievously...
