Holding her close to him

"Ouch!"

Cassandra cried out as she was slumped in the floor. Her butt hurts so bad, she just had butt augmentation the week before. Alice though, tried really hard to hold back her laugh and just snickered.

This is when Cassandra noticed that there was somebody in the door. She just saw half the body and face but she recognized him instantly. Instead of receiving her mother's help to stand up, she looked at her mother and signaled with her eyes that somebody is outside.

Her mother followed her daughter's eyes and saw Eric Chen. Both of them don't know since when Eric Chen was there, but they both had a glimpse that his hand is on the door, then assuming that he has just arrived and saw this scene. She then wailed to Alice exaggeratedly. "Alice! Why would you hurt your own sister! And to even push her! How can you be so terrible!"

"Mother! It is okay! It was an accident!"

Cassandra began to weep silently and covered her eyes, meanwhile watching the gap on her fingers to see Eric Chen's reaction and seeing him frown while walking towards them. He went passed Alice and ignored her, while going to her side. Cassandra then smiled to her heart. 'Alice, you have lost a lot to me. I have a man who is in the pinnacle of power but he cares about me and doesn't even know who you are.' She glanced at Alice with a mocking glare.

Eric proceeded to help Cassandra to stand up, hooking his arm for her to grab onto. Alice maintained a poker face the entire time. Alice knows that he is here beforehand, seeing a glimpse of him in the doorway when she tried to walk past Cathy. She is curious to see that this man liked to play as a gentleman. Good acting indeed. Helping a damsel in distress like a prince in a romance story.

After standing up, Cassandra continued to hold Eric's arm while shyly sobbing, "Big brother Eric, don't misunderstand my little sister. I fell down on my own. Please don't get angry at her." Sounding like a meek kitten while her pretty face looks like a beauty that was mistreated but is still being nice to people. This makes her look innocent and pitiful.

Even Cathy was feeling relieved that Eric has helped her daughter. It would be a great slap to Alice. A powerful man caring for her daughter! Ha. She was also eyeing Alice with a mocking smile. This shows affection and is worth the times she would set her daughter up to meet this rich boy. It would be a fortune if this good source of gold would end up with her daughter.

Alice smirked all the while Cassandra speaks. She really needs to get an award for being the best actress. Instead of saying anything, Alice turned around to get out of this room. Before she can do this though, a hand touched her slender waist and held her beside his body. Alice was startled and this made her look at this shameless guy. Even though her height can be considered tall in this country, this man is even taller up close. And with both their waists touching, she can feel his breath in her forehead as she stares up his bewitching eyes.

The mother and daughter duo was shocked at this gesture. Both of them knew that because Alice was abroad, no one has news about her, not even her father. Then when did these two meet? And why do they look like they were so close, both figuratively and literally?

"I am sorry that my fiancée has troubled you. She just had a long trip and is very tired. I will take her back now." His voice was soft but it vibrated in the whole room. He did not even wait for the duo to reply, he semi-dragged Alice towards the door and closed it behind them.
