Precognitive Assumption

Throughout Charms, Ron exerted himself to standout from his peers. He answered any and all questions asked by Prof. Flitwick or by his classmates. The latter not limited to those from Ravenclaw, as he also helped Hufflepuffs.

Even now almost a hour into class, he patiently explained the lesson to a Hufflepuff boy.

" ... if you follow these simple steps correctly, you'll end up with this."

Ron slowly and clearly stated to the boy, before casting a simple cleaning charm. A light breeze was subsequently summoned, leaving the provided item spotless. The student closely observing Ron, was amazed at his showcasing. Ron I'm the other hand wasn't, as he seamlessly moved on to another student.

' I'm not entirely sure if my earlier suspicion is correct, but this'll certainly help my case.'

Ron then continuously helped literally everyone until class came to an end.

Earning him thanks and praise from them, however what he desired wasn't their cheers. Rather he wanted his good deeds to culminate in his promised Dueling lessons.

" I have something I'd like to discuss with Prof. Flitwick so can you two wait for me outside?"

Ron told Daphne and Hermione who nodded before leaving.

Now alone, Ron would confront the professor directly and ask him if he'd changed his mind.

' Please let me wrong, this once!'

After class Prof. Flitwick would regularly tidy up his classroom. Giving Ron the prefect opportunity to approach him.

" Professor, Prof. Flitwick, could I have a moment of your time?"

While addressing the Professor Ron did so in a low but polite manner. Exactly how he was taught to ask for a favor or win someone over.

" Ronald! I'd like to thank you for helping the other students today. With your assistance I was able to help the remaining students. Allowing everyone who needed help to receive it."

Listening to Prof. Flitwick's words filled with praise raised Ron's confidence.

' Great! It worked, now let's address the main topic.'

With a chest full of confidence he decided to play humble, while temporarily forgetting all about his suspicion.

" It was nothing Professor, I was just doing what anyone else would have done."

Then hearing the Professor's following response his previously troubled mind was finally calmed.

" Nonsense, you were outstanding and if there's anything you need please let me know. It's the least I can do for such a wonderful and model student such as yourself."

With everything seemingly fine, Ron proceeded to ask about his upcoming training.

" Actually Professor, there's something I wanted to know, it's about my Dueling Lessons. With what happened afterwards I wasn't able to-"

Not letting him finish, Prof. Flitwick interrupted Ron mid sentence with a swift reply.

" I'm sorry Ronald, but I cannot instruct you on those matters, but if there's anything else... "

Taken aback by the Professor's words, Ron hastily tried to salvage the situation.

" Prof. Flitwick, I truly regret what occured, and I assure you it will never happen again. For those reasons I'd like for you to reconsider-"

However he found himself unable to state his point as he was cut off again.

" Ronald, I'm sorry but I can't do that, if it's of any consolation I was looking forward to training you. Sadly, the Headmaster believes that you shouldn't receive any further training in offensive magic... "

Learing that Dumbledore was the one who called off his lessons, Ron's smile faded.

' I fucking knew it! At this point I'd be more shocked at myself being wrong than anything else. For this to happen now as well, right as my plans were coming together... Fuck! Fuck the old man for trying to suppress me and fuck Draco for being such a fucking tool!'

Then just as Ron was cussing out the Dumbledore and Draco. A sliver of hope appeared, courtesy of Prof. Flitwick.

" ... At least until after the matter with the Malfoys is settled. Once that's settled I'm sure the Headmaster will be more inclined to grant his permission."

Shortly after that Ron bid Prof. Flitwick farewell, before exiting the classroom.

Walking out, Daphne and Hermione noticed that something seemed off about Ron. He didn't wait for them to figure it out however and walked right passed them. Looking at one another they helplessly shrugged their shoulders before following after him.

" Ron, what happened? Is everything okay we-"

Daphne sped up a bit, managing to catch up to him. She first thought about holding on to his arm but decided against it. Rather she settled with just asking him directly. Only for Ron to ignore her question altogether, instead asking one of his own.

" The letters have they've been sent out?"

Albeit not the response she'd expected Daphne answered.

" Uh, yes. I personally sent them. Ronald did someth-"

" Good. Well I'll take my leave as I've got other matters to attend to. Are you two going back to the Common Room or-"

" Where are you headed to? We'll go with you. It beats being stuck in the common room."

Unfortunately for him both girls expressed interest in following him this time. Hermione just barely arriving at their side when she joined Daphne in her request. Now they both stared at him with hope shining in their eyes to learn more about his secret endeavors. Surprisingly in a rare occurrence Ron agreed to their request.

" Sure, why not. Although if you two want to tag along you'll have to keep up with me. Feeling up to the challenge?"

First shocked then finding themselves jumping in excitement. The girls failed to take note of Ron's newly renovated grin. When they stopped with their joyful display and readied themselves, Ron was gone.

" Huh? Where did he go!?"

" I don't know, he was just here a second ago... "

While the duo tried to figure out what exactly happened to Ron. He was calmly making his way towards the Room of Requirements.

' Really now, I've got to teach them not to lose sight of their target so easily. Much less one who can cast non verbal magic. Oh well I'll leave that for for another day. Right now I've got to find another way to-'

Suddenly Ron stopped walking and slowly placed his hands behind his back.

' Here I was feeling frustrated over my Dueling lessons being postponed, only for this to occur shortly thereafter. I'll be sure to thoroughly enjoy this...'
