Water God

She felt the man's body tensed a little at her words before he went back to his cheerful self.

"It's still manageable," the man shrugged as he continued his massage.

That man is a God from the Heavens. He is the God of Water and he governs the waters of the world. It is a high position in the Heavens and as one of the four elemental gods, he should be very busy given his amount of duties but currently, he is at the core of the realm of the dead, the demon world, inside the demon lord's palace, massaging her shoulders.

"So what brought you here?" The Lady refused to let him shrug her question off. She has known this man from the moment her soul entered through the gates of hell. While she was wondering where was she, the man had appeared in front of her. He was bored and pranked her while she was lost, saying that he would bring her to where all dead souls are supposed to go when they first entered and proceeded to lead her to accompany him as he wandered around the residential areas of hell. When she discovered that the man was lying to her, she did not expose him immediately.

After all, this is a once in a lifetime chance to explore the place where demons lived and she had never had the chance when she was alive. Being the Empress, she was not allowed to leave the palace the moment she stepped in. After being selected and appointed a place in the Imperial Harem, she had to deal with the competition and when she reached the pinnacle of the harem, she had to manage the household and sometimes even the kingdom's matters. Where would she find the time or the leisure to walk the streets of her kingdom? There is also the worry of assassination so she truly did not have a moment of fun when she was still alive. Now that she is dead, she should enjoy the last bits before she is to be judged and punished.

She had allowed the man to continue leading her around and they ended up exploring the entire capital of hell. She saw how the way demons lived were not too different from how humans lived and the things they did were not too uncommon. Other than the food and the commodities being unusual, it was not too different from her memories when she was allowed to go outside as a child before marriage. For the first time, she had fun. She did not need to pay attention to the way she ate, the way she spoke and the way she interacted with that person. He gave off a very friendly vibe. Someone who is easy to talk to, someone who would act cute to get what he wants, someone who would listen, someone who she can be herself.

There seems to be some sort of festival going on because the entire street was decked out in shades of blue. Everywhere she walked, she could only see blue. The food was blue and she had thought they were poisoned at first. But after tasting a sample, her eyes shone in delight before she grabbed more. Everything seemed to be free. There was no need to pay for anything. If you want something, just grab it and let the owner of the stall know so that he knows when to bring out more. Children ran around, playing with their toys while the adults enjoyed themselves. It was truly a festival of blue. She grabbed whatever that looked good to eat and played the games that children played. The man felt as if he was bringing a child out to play and he indulged her, bringing her to walk the entire festive area.

After finishing up her little snack that was recommended by that man, she turned to look at him.

"Thanks for bringing me around. It was really fun but don't prank me again," she knocked his head.

The man widened his eyes in surprise as he held his hand against the spot she hit. This was the first time someone had dared to hit him. Not even his mother or father had ever hit him. Not even when he played a huge prank on everyone back home. He had only gotten a week of confinement.

"If you wanted someone to accompany you to play, just say it. Don't lie to me, I hate liars." She crossed her hands accoss her chest and pouted.

"Would you agree to my request if I had said it honestly?" The man asked and she thought for a moment before answering.

"That will have to depend on my mood," she cheekily grinned.

"Now that I had fun, bring me to where I am supposed to go. No pranks this time," she shook her finger at him as she warned.

The man held his hands up in surrender. He had never met such a wilful woman who does things depending on her mood. But it's alright, they would probably not meet again after she enters that place. It was fun while it lasted.

Contrary to his expectations, they met again not too long after.
