Little Kitten

When she went into the hall of judgments, she was expecting to be punished heavily for her sins. For all the deaths she has caused, whether directly or indirectly, she had expected heavy punishment and torture. However, the judge had given her a clean verdict. She was stunned and she wanted to question the judge's decision. She wanted to know the reason but the judge refuses to explain to her, saying that there is no need for her to know since after this she would head towards the hall of memories where humans would have their memories cleaned before they head towards their next life.

She refused to accept this and ran away from the hall. The guards were of no match for her as she had been well-trained in martial arts and she had the aid of the dark arts. She ran away and ended up being lost. As she was cautiously wandering around, she bumped into the man again.

"You again?" She widened her eyes at the sight of the man.

"Isn't this my little kitten? Why are you here?" The man was sneaking away from his chambers as he wanted to visit the festivals again. He had heard there were some stalls at the back alleys where there was gambling and he wanted to try his luck out. Who knows that the moment he was about the slip out of the Lord's mansion, he would meet his little kitten.

"Who the hell is your little kitten?" She was quite offended. Where was she small? She had lived till the age of thirties before she died and even though it was early thirties, she still wasn't young enough to be called little. It sounded as if he was belittling her and it made her irritated. What's more, a kitten? She is not a pet of his!

"You didn't give me your name so I gave you one," the man shrugged as he patted her head.

"Don't treat me like a child!" She swatted his hand away and scowled at him.

"But to me, you are a child."

"I am a married woman in her thirties, how is that considered a child?"

"Well, I am at least a few centuries older than you." The man retorted back.

She raised her eyebrow. Given his playful tone, she doesn't know whether he was speaking the truth. Just as she was about to ask him, she heard many footsteps approaching. The man heard it as well and they pushed aside their bickering for now and duck behind the nearest bush.

As they hid, the people arrived. They were servants and they seemed to be searching for something, or someone. She eyed the person hiding beside her. The man did not notice as he was anxiously trying to diminish his presence. As the bush they were hiding behind was quite near those servants, they could hear what they were talking about.

"Have you found him yet?"

"I was quite confident that I saw him heading this way," one of the servants scratched his head, confused.

"Are you truly sure?" One of the servants questioned and the person nodded.

"Of course, this is the Water God we are talking about. With his appearance and clothes, it's hard to mistaken someone for him." The servant replied resolutely.

"Then let's continue down this path, maybe he hasn't walk out of the entrance yet!" The servants hastily ran down the path.

After making sure there was nobody around, both of them came out of their hiding spot. She stared at him for a long time and he refused to meet her gaze. As he fiddled with his sleeve, he paced as he thought of how to explain to his little kitten. She had told him not to lie to her and technically, he didn't lie to her this time. But she seems to be angry. She is not speaking, just waiting for an answer. He finally gathered enough courage and faced her.

Only to be met with a flick on the forehead.

"That hurts," he whined while he held his forehead gently.

"Why did you hit me again? I didn't lie to you this time," he grumbled with tears in his eyes.

"Just felt like it," she shrugged. A water god huh? Isn't this supposed to be Hell? Why is the water god here?

"You are being mean, my little kitten." He pouted at her answer.

"Is this the behavior of a Water God?" She raised her eyebrows at his behavior. Aren't Gods supposed to be dignified, wise and whatever qualities Gods are supposed to have? No matter how she looked at this God before her, she could only see a whiny little kid trying to act cute to get what he wants.

"Whatever you are thinking, that is just an image that humans gave to us. Why should I conform to that?" The Water God retorted. She thought about it and agreed.

"So my little kitten, why are you here instead of the hall of punishment?" He was really surprised when he bumped into her near the entrance of the mansion. There are four entrances to the Demon Lord's mansion and the hall of punishment is located at the other end of where they are currently at. No dead soul had ever escaped the hall of punishment and this lady in front of him is the first.

"I ran away from the hall of judgments," she answered truthfully.

When dead souls arrive in hell, they are first escorted to the demon lord's mansion north entrance. They are then judged in the hall of judgments. After their sins have been judged and their punishments decided, they would then proceed to the hall of punishment to receive their punishments. There have been cases of attempted escape from hall of punishments because the humans couldn't endure their suffering but none has made it out before.

However, there has never been a case of someone escaping from the hall of. Even demons who have sinned and were bought to trial in the hall of judgments has never escaped. This is because the security is very tight and the guards are highly skilled.

The water god looked at the woman standing in front of him in awe. How did she manage to escape?

She could sense the question in his gaze but she was reluctant to answer. Her powers had always been a secret and she had never told anyone. It was taboo. She pursed her lips and pondered on how she was going to avoid his question when she sensed a powerful presence behind her. She could not move, her entire body felt paralyzed and for the first time in her entire life, she felt helpless.

"Found you," a deep voice said behind her. She could feel chills down her spine and she felt fear creep up on her. Yes, she feared the person who was capable of restraining her. Not even the skilled guards in the hall of judgments are able to do such a thing. The person behind her must be someone of huge power.
