Mistakes were made

"Maybe it was a bad idea to blow off the meeting with Sona, but I couldn't help being excited at the prospect of a character that wasn't genderbent."

*BUZZ*

Soft light shined from the lance next to me in response as I stared at the random commercial on the flatscreen. Lately I've developed an odd habit of talking to my spear about my daily life... well it actually likes to be called a lance from what I can tell. I dunno, I just feel like it'd be better than talking to myself. I mean, the lance itself is sentient. I know that much although I can't understand what it's saying, it's still nice to have someone to listen.

Oh my god I've ended up turning an overpowered weapon into a listening buddy. What has my life come to? Anyway, it's not like I use it for anything else. Despite changing it's size to something manageable, I have no idea how to use a SwordSpear much less a regular spear. I have a much easier time using swords. When I was in Skyrim, I legitimately could not find anyone who used spears or lances. Actually now that I think about it, there was only swords and axes for some reason.

"Anyway, I'll try meeting up with her tomorrow. I'd like to get some magic lessons from her sister. If I recall correctly, she was very adept when it came to ice magic."

*BUZZ* the lance vibrated in response with some soft light. If only I had a translator, but I don't think buzzing sounds and flashes of light count as an actual language.

Why don't I talk with other people like Lydia, Koneko or even Akemi like this? I have an odd insecurity about openly sharing my daily thoughts. Mainly because my daily thoughts sound so boring to me, I'd rather not bore people to death with running my mouth about monotonous crap.

Well, at least the lance doesn't seem to mind that I don't actually use it for combat. I don't have a need of assaulting people with lightning or wasting my entire reserves for a single overpowered shot of Rhongomyniad. It's a lot easier to just bombard things with weapons from the gate.

*BUZZ*

I glanced over at the lance vibrating on the side of my bed. Ah, I know what it wants. I moved closer and took a wash cloth from the gate. Despite not being used, it likes being cleaned and well maintained. Although there really isn't any need for maintenance, it enjoys the cleaning I guess.

*BUZZ*

"Relax, isn't it better to do this slowly? Touchy little spear aren't you?" I say as I continued to wipe the head of the lance. This is how my slow days generally go.

*BUZZ* "GAH!" a spark discharged from the lance and ran through my arms.

*BUZZ!* the light flared out wasn't soft this time

"Alright sorry! I meant lance, what's the difference between a spear and a lance anyway?" I honestly don't understand.

*BUZZ*

"Sorry about not showing up, I ended up getting sidetracked yesterday." Gold apologized as he was seated across from the bespectacled girl.

The two sat across from eachother with a chess board between them as the rest of Sona's peerage were either neatly standing in place or seated while working on other miscellaneous things.

"I heard about it from Saji." Her eyes glanced over at the pawn who flinched in response as he averted his gaze. "Now what is it you wanted to meet me for?" She asked getting down to business.

"I want to get some ice magic lessons from your sister." Gold seemed to be incredibly focused on the chess game in front of him.

"Eh? Kaichou has a sister?" Saji asked from the side but was silenced with a glare from the bespectacled girl.

"You know that she's one of the four current Satans right? She has many duties to deal with herself." Her expression became a bit odd at the mention of her sister as she moved her queen forward.

"Yeah, I was hoping you could help me ask her. I hear she dotes on you a lot." Gold knew Serafall showed an overbearing amount of affection to her little sister to the point that you could call her a siscon.

Obviously Sona didn't want to have to call her sister due to being embarrassed about the way she treated her in public.

"I can tell you're uncomfortable with the idea of asking her. Alright how about this, arrange a meeting for me and I'll help your friend Rias with her engagement problem." Gold narrowed his eyes as he realized he was losing the match.

"You can do that?" Currently Sona's expression displayed her internal struggle. On one hand she wanted to help out her friend Rias, on the other hand she didn't want anyone to see her sister embarrass her, especially her own peerage.

"Alright, I'll give you her contact information but only after you help Rias." She finally decided with a sigh.

"Leave it to me, I just need you to get me some information on Riser and his family." Gold managed to take her Queen out of the game.

"I can do that but why?" Sona asked as she promoted her Pawn into a Queen.

"It'll be easier if I had more information on Riser." Gold clicked his tongue as his king was starting to get pressured.

"I'll have it delivered to you tomorrow then. Anyway, Checkmate." She promised while cornering his King.

Gold didn't think it'd be that difficult to break an engagement, at least it should be easier than playing chess against Sona.

Creepy bristling sounded out from behind the door that I've currently barricaded with countless items from the gate. The only other sound was my cold sweat hitting the ground as it dripped from my face.

I've made a terrible mistake. A horrible mistake that cannot be reversed. You see, I have a separate room in the basement that I made for experiments. It's not that large of a room, just about 30 ft wide room. Inside of it I have dabbled with many things related to alchemy. Many serums, poisons, ingredients, and potions fill the shelves of that room.

"Lydia." I called out

"Yes, Lord Gold?" She asked as she stood beside me.

"I require your help." The low tone of my voice showed the severity that I placed on this situation.

"I am at your command." she saluted.

"Jack, Viser." I called out to the two large quadrupeds

"Neigh." The genetically screwed up horse responded.

"Yes?" Viser asked from beside her lover. Apparently the two are dating or something.

"There is an intruder within our home." I say solemnly getting their complete attention. "This intruder is fast, strong and very cunning. Not only that, it has mutated itself using the same serum I used on Jack." The damn thing managed to get into a vat of the unnamed serum I used to create Jack.

"I would deal with it myself, however this intruder is an enemy that I shudder to even think of. It is my worst enemy, I would scream even at just the sight of it." The fear was noticeable in my voice. It served to solidify the seriousness of my other 3 housemates.

*BANG* The barricade broke down as the door shattered to pieces from a large brown fist. Our attention shifted to the Monstrosity standing at the now open doorway. My breath seemed to get hitched at the back of my throat. It was a gigantic muscular roach. A roach managed to get into my lab and ended up mutating. I'd kill it myself but I'm straight up terrified of roaches.

"IT CAN FLY! YOU NEED TO KILL IT HERE!" I shouted to my house mates as I ran up the stairs to stop it from escaping the basement.

The last thing I saw before sealing off the basement was Lydia, Jack and Viser ready to fight the genetically screwed up roach to the death.

From that day forth, I adjusted the bounded field to repel all insects from the house.
