Learning spatial magic

The crystal vibrates gently and I could hear Principal Vaughn and Lucille whispering behind me.

"Twenty credits says he has two elements." I heard Principal Vaughn whisper.

"My guess fire and air a strong combination."

"I'm game," Lucille answers.

"I got ten on one element and it's Lightning."

She barely finished her sentence when a small pitch-black sphere appeared in the center of the crystal radiating a somewhat familiar power.

"So he has an affinity for spatial magic" Principal Vaughn said cheerfully.

"And from the looks of it a strong one."

"An affinity on a normal level would still be somewhat transparent but yours is so dark." Lucille observed.

"With an affinity this high you will be able to learn spatial techniques and comprehend spatial runes faster than a normal user at the same level."

"So it's basically just further cementing how badass I am huh?" I say out loud.

"Pretty much." Principal Vaughn shrugged.

"There's just one small problem,"

"Fucking knew it." I groan.

"Spatial users are a rare breed and their techniques are frighteningly powerful, on the other hand, because they're so powerful they're also hard to master." he explains.

"Even the most powerful spatial user can only use high-tier teleportation and a few basic attacks, but even with just those basic attacks he's a beast." he admitted.

"Is there anyway I could meet him and get to learn a thing or two?" I ask hoping the answer is yes.

"You're in luck he just so happens to be a friend of mine." Principal Vaughn chuckles.

"I just hope that I can convince him." he sighs.

He pulls his phone out and dials a number it rings a few times before someone picks up, and I immediately hear yelling, several voices were screaming into the phone so loud that he was holding it away from his ear.

"His affinity is Space." he said while smiling after that, the yelling was replaced by groans and swearing with one person in the background cheering.

"Shut up!" someone shouted.

"Hey, Fuck you man" the cheering guy yelled back before Principal Vaughn ended the call.

"Sounds like a lot of people lost credits because of you." he laughs.

"Follow me."

After walking around for twenty minutes we finally came to a huge door. Principal Vaughn opened the door to reveal a large arena-like training room there where marble columns spread randomly in a large circular forest we walk to the center where there's a wide-open area, in the center is a big guy, maybe late forties, with a bald head, reddish beard with braids and, oddly enough, dressed in a crisp black officer's uniform but despite his clashing looks, he was radiating power, he was obviously a person I'd have to go all-out against in a fight.

"Oi, is this the wee cunt I'm teachin'?" he asked with a thick accent.

"'Cause he don't look like much to me."

"Well that just means I'm doing my job correctly." I say with a smile.

Hearing this he laughs loudly.

"I like this one."

"The names Major Oliver Campbell lad, you can call me Ollie, " he says placing a beefy hand on my shoulder.

"I hope you wit's as sharp as your tongue, especially if your gonna be my disciple."

"Your what now?" I ask confused.

"My disciple, I don't give these techniques away to just anyone."

"Whoa whoa, I just came here for pointers, ain't nobody said shit about being a disciple."

"Trust me lad, these techniques are powerful enough to rip apart every cell in your body, nobody survives beyond the basics without a teacher, for fuck's sake I couldn't even do it and I'm considered one of the most powerful spatial users," he warns me.

"You'll need a teacher to guide you through it."

"Unfortunately for you I have plot armor." I say confidently.

"What?" He looks at me like I'm a fucking idiot.

"Never mind"

"Alight then, lets try starting you off with something simple." Ollie said.

"The first thing we gotta do is get you used to the feeling of spatial mana."

He sat down and pointed to the spot in front of him.

"Take your shirt off and sit with your back to me.

" Fine," I say as I take my hoodie off.

"But I'm still not agreeing to be your disciple."

I take off my shirt and Ollie gets up and starts inspecting my scars touching me everywhere.

"I'm gonna have to ask you to stop doing whatever it is you're doing."

"How did you get healed so fast?" he asked completely ignoring my request.

" The fact that you're alive is a miracle itself lad, but these wounds are completely healed and it's only been a few months since to fall of city 8. I'm curious is all."

"I'm built different," I tell him.

"Are we gonna do this or what?"

"Right."

Ollie sits back down and I sit in front of him he places his hands on my back and starts pouring mana into my body as he does I noticed that it was different from regular mana. While normal mana is filled with energy and life, this mana felt like a void of pure destructive power. After a few minutes of that Ollie gets up dusting off his uniform.

"Alright laddie now that 'ya got the feel for spatial mana it's time to show you a basic yet effective spatial movement technique,"

He tells me as he raises his hand which is covered in a thick layer of spatial mana.

As soon as he held his hand in the air I started to scan his magical energy saw as he injected spatial mana into the air itself, he lowered his hand and a hole emerged he then reached inside the hole and pulled a bag out and tossed it at my feet.

"What's this?" I asked him.

"Clothes, you'll be stayin' a while lad"

"And why the fuck would I be doing that?"

"If you pass this test I'll teach you everything I know and then some, I guarantee that you won't be disappointed, but if you fail you become my disciple." He explains.

"You know it's funny cause I know you're playing me, but let's fucking go." I say.

"Very good." he says smiling.

"Teleportation, " he starts.

"Now most people spout crap saying that it's about concentrating on a set of exact coordinates, or creating a bridge between spaces and all the shit. But no, fuck that, true teleportation is saying fuck the bridge I'll jump to the other side!" He laughed.

"As long as you can sense your enemy you can teleport to and attack them but this is something that only true spacial masters can attain. And since you're 100 years too young to be one I'm gonna prove it."

He throws a knife at a nearby tree, the blade embedding itself into one of the taller branches.

"I'm gonna show you this technique only once, after that you're on your own, I'll give one month to retrieve that knife if you can't get it down in that time, then give up and be come my disciple." he warned.

He looked towards the knife and as I watched him I also watched his energy fluctuations I took note on every single detail and subtle change I noticed. Then his body suddenly blipped out of existence, it was so fast I'm that if I blinked I would've missed it, I look up and sure enough, he was standing on the branch, he teleported back to the ground and walked past me.

"See you in a month." he chuckled.

"No need." I laughed back as I teleport to the branch, grabbed the knife came back and put it in his hand.

He stared at the knife in his hands with a puzzled look on his face, it took him a whole year to master this technique, and that was back in his prime when he was known as a earth shattering genius, yet this child who's mouth reeked of his mother's titty, mastered it after one demonstration.

"You must have cheated," he suddenly blurted out.

"Come on man really?" I complain.

"Teleportation is too simple, you probably had this ability before hand and baited me into betting with you." He said like a bitch.

"Okay so, first of all, this is my first time using spatial magic, and second, you're the one who created the fucking bet!" I yelled.

"So your bullshit excuse isn't even plausible."

"Fine we'll settle this with another test." He said.

"Fine, what's the stupid thing that your gonna say is impossible, but then I do it, and then you do that thing where you fall to a whole new level of denial."

"Whatever." Ollie said confidently.

He closed his eyes and I started to observe his energy flow once more making sure I don't miss a single detail.

A blue aura shrouded him as he ripped two black voids in the space in front of him, both around the same size as daggers, he held out his arms and the two blades sliced and twirled through the air, as they do they each sliced open a void dagger, there were soon ten void daggers flying and cutting madly through the air not only cutting but also taking massive pieces out of anything they touch. They all stop on a dime, like literally at the same time, forming a straight line pointing directly at me, which I admit, was a little badass.

"Think you can manage laddie?"

He said with a smug look on his face just oozing confidence.

I close my eyes and remembered the way his power moved and the way he manipulated his magical energy, I reached my hands out and opened two voids, I then put some of my spatial mana into the voids to give them form, now it's at this point Ollie's look of concern vanished and his face immediately lit up like a kid on who just got a new toy.

The blades form but instead of daggers mine were black short swords they spun and cut swiftly around me as the did they both created a void blade, then the copies created another one and I soon had twenty blades cutting and slicing the air. I make them freeze they all stop at once and have them float behind me and as I'm staring at them I get an idea.

I force two dangerously unstable magical blades to fuse just to see what happens. At first, the rise in energy was so quick that it nearly exploded

I poured more power into the mix and it immediately calmed down and it took on the form of a long sword and the power it released made the daggers look like shit.

"Did that wee cunt just step into the second layer?" Ollie thought to himself happily.

"Oi lad." he call out to me.

"What else can you do?"
