Monkey tribe

Xiao Fan would spend the next few hours talking with Uruk about his duties and responsibilities that came with his new position.

Being the second in command of a monkey tribe, he didn't expect a lot, nor did he get a lot of things.

Those things that bind him were loose and comfortable just like he wanted.

While the primary duty of second in command was only to be there in case, Uruk would die or vanish. The position only held power that Uruk would give it.

Still, it was the position of the second strongest, making Xiao Fan be the second most influential person in the tribe in theory, as in reality, no one would follow a human.

Thinking about this Xiao Fan concluded that he didn't care much for the monkeys either, he only wanted safety and power, and this position gave him that, so no complaints.

The only thing making him scared about this was how at one point Uruk made a passing joke about Xiao Fan usurping his title and pointing out how would it end.

Xiao Fan had only laughed that one off with a hint of fear inside him.

The old monkey was no fool.

By the time they stopped talking about things the night had already set on them. And so when the essential information had conversed Uruk got up.

Xiao Fan got up after him, and then followed Uruk who was already moving somewhere, deeper into the forest.

Uruk was leading him and the rest until they came to a small cave opening that was covered by vines trying to block sight.

First thing Xiao Fan was thinking about was that if the tribe lived in a cave wasn't this one way too small?

However, after a few hundred steps, his doubts were cleared by his own eyes.

The small opening was only a door followed by a corridor leading into a massive cavern that could comfortably house every monkey Xiao Fan had seen so far.

Surely Uruk had hit the jackpot when he had come across this place, as it wasn't only a cavern.

For here were those same mushrooms that Xiao Fan's cave had lighting the place up while a small creek flowed through the cavern.

Also from where he was standing, he could see monkeys inside their own smaller caves to the side which was made by a cultivator most likely Uruk himself.

Walking on a grass floor of the cave following Uruk, Xiao Fan's head turned to face another direction every second, he wanted to see every bit of the place sooner the better.

He was genuinely impressed by what he saw; this place was like a small paradise to him.

Their walk took them to the very end stopping before a wall that ended the cavern.

In front of them, there were now two house caves before them made in a were clear way.

One of them was the chief's cave and one for the second in command's. The one which Uruk called home was, of course, meters above Xiao Fan's cave house.

Also, if one compared the look of these two houses to the ones before and none of them was bad, but these two had small windows and many other little things done to them from the outlook of things.

But before Xiao Fan could get to his home, Uruk made a sign for him stop, which Xiao Fan respected and begun to wait while Uruk made his way into Xiao Fan's home.

Moments later, a female monkey walked out of the cave with a sullen face, and minutes later Uruk came out, but his hands were filled with things.

Xiao Fan realised that Uruk had taken the best things out of his new home, but due to certain reasons, Xiao Fan didn't try to complain about this arrangement.

When Uruk finally came to him with his hands filled with things that should now belong to Xiao Fan did the old monkey chief not even talk about it, he simply made a move that told Xiao Fan to move in.

Concerning about the expulsion of the last resident Uruk had thought that Xiao Fan wouldn't mind an ape as ally yet had taken the liberty to look for a new maid for him.

Getting a human was easy enough anyway, there were plenty of them nearby.

Meanwhile, Xiao Fan didn't respond to Uruk's conversing in any way and walked past his liege.

Getting inside Xiao Fan could immediately see that his cave was nothing compared to this house, even his prison cell was worse than this place in terms of looks.

As the cave house, he had been given was a house more than a cave, for there were bedrooms, a living room, and a training room only for him.

While Xiao Fan ran around his very own first apartment, Cao Cao also came to the lower plane, yet looking around Xiao Fan was nowhere to be seen while the Du sisters had come way too close to the cave Xiao Fan occupied.

Alarmed by how things were going Cao Cao covered this small world with his senses to look for Xiao Fan.

Doing this it didn't take long before he found Xiao Fan and seconds later he was already looking at Xiao Fan who was bandaging his wounds.

Cao Cao let the man do what he wanted for now as he also wanted to explore this new place where Xiao Fan was, which would also surprise him a little.

Not the part that this was a monkey settlement there was nothing unusual in that in his opinion, but he did like the aesthetics of the cavern.

After the quick look, Cao Cao also didn't find anything that should be hidden from Xiao Fan, and so Cao Cao made his way back to hower around Xiao Fan while starting to annoy him with ever so stupid remarks of his.

¨So after losing to some women, you decided to go and live a life with animals? Sure does suit you! Did you also get beaten by them? Are you their prisoner now?¨

Xiao Fan hearing the chaotic voice zapped a little but realising it was only the usual sarcastic remarks from Cao Cao he calmed down and decided to counter-attack.

¨Where have you been? Did you forget the way back here? Maybe you were tied up with your matter of executing one of your underlings for stealing your candy bar? Oh, now I know it a goddess turned your old ass down, making you cry for this long!¨

His insult might not have been based on anything he knew of Cao Cao and were like throwing a pebble to the void, hoping it hits.

However, Cao Cao was a person far beyond ancient, so all of those things had genuinely happened, and the one that hurt Cao Cao the most was the goddess one which made him remember many old memories...

Still, it was such a long time ago that Cao Cao had already forgotten it and after thousand of years his feelings towards said goddess had almost all gone, so he kept his cool in front of Xiao Fan while a small knife turned around in his back.

¨I can't be bothered to look at your everyday life so much!¨ But now staying close to Xiao Fan, he felt a strange vibe around Xiao Fan's body, and Cao Cao knew where or whom this hint of godly power had come from.

¨Oh you actually fought against a monkey blessed by a monkey race god, how did that go?¨ Cao Cao asked in the same sentence.

Cao Cao could feel that Xiao Fan's body had taken hits infused with godly powers granted to his opponent by someone and there was still enough of that power lingering around that he could figure out that someone who had done so and in his books, this god had gone against him and needed a visit.

Xiao Fan hadn't thought that his insult would show a difference in Cao Cao, but he had wanted to say something back.

But after hearing that he mentioned the thing that had happened, he put down his slimy ointment and looked towards Cao Cao wanting answers.

¨You know what that power was?¨ Xiao Fan curiously asked as he didn't have any idea why his opponent had acted so weirdly, he had wanted to ask about it from Cao Cao.

Seeing the little guy's growing interest in this Cao Cao made a chuckled before telling Xiao Fan how gods fought over power amongst themselves.

From this free lesson, Xiao Fan started to mixed feelings about this all but soon realised that the monkey had used his life to get a one-time power-up while Xiao Fan could enjoy freedom in 150 years, which might be better or worse, but he felt losing it for life was still a lot worse.

After that explanation, Cao Cao made this into a long lesson, where Cao Cao told that he should spread the ways of Neutral Chaos everywhere he went as making other people convert to Cao Cao's alignment would make him reduce the time he needed to serve.

For example, if Xiao Fan could convert a monkey to pray to Cao Cao instead of a monkey god or some other being would that make Xiao Fan enjoy more favours from Cao Cao's and also give valuable experience in doing so.

While that was for Xiao Fan, someone like Cao Cao at the very top could only become stronger by converting a kingdom or preferably a world to worship him.

This made Cao Cao tell how all the gods used their days converting or hiring promising people to their causes.

Cao Cao was also clear and told that Xiao Fan would never be getting a contract from him to share some of his power even if Xiao Fan made his way to the level of Cao Cao.

Furthermore, the only thing Cao Cao told was to convert others, but never himself pray to Cao Cao.

From all these warnings and strict orders, Xiao Fan thought that Cao Cao must have some more extended plan for him in mind, but before Cao Cao decided to help him, he would most likely still be without any direct help from Cao Cao.

In his mind that plan Cao Cao had seemed to be a very long journey as he had noted that worshipping or alignment was almost useless before Qi realm.

The Body realm wasn't in any shape or form spiritual thing meaning that there was virtually no power to give to a god while praying.

But Cao Cao still wanted him to keep converting other people to his cause in Xiao Fan's top five most important things to be doing.

Their long talk then went on about how gods' used the worlds as battlefields and how they were always affecting every cultivator by little or massively.

But it would also end at some point, for it was already day time.

After ending their talk, Xiao Fan came out of the building Cao Cao hovering around him as today he wanted to look what Xiao Fan was going to do with some monkeys, as he had bought another book for him...

Soon he must realise he can't haul more books with him, right? Cao Cao thought while he smiled, thinking about the 5-year payment, totalling 155 service years for now.

When coming out of his cave house, few monkeys were waiting for him already. Leading them was the monkey Xiao Fan had fought yesterday.

They were here on Uruks order for he had ordered them to become Xiao Fan's staff and helpers, and without question, they had agreed.

Xiao Fan had talked about this with Uruk already, but before anything, he wanted to have a little fun with these helpers of his.

And so he spoke, in the monkey language.

¨I need few of you to get me these things while others will be gathering any flowers they can find inside this forest, but stay safe don't try too hard¨ While he showed a self-made map to his waterfall cave.

Acting like nothing unusual had just happened, the monkey also didn't think much, but just as they were going to run his errands, they realised what had happened.

¨Did the human just talk in our language big brother?¨ One of the monkeys asked the monkey in front who had stayed to face Xiao Fan who was weirded out even more than the others.

Big brother didn't let his eyes off from Xiao Fan as he answered the monkeys behind him ¨I don't know!¨

However, they were shooed away by Xiao Fan ¨Come I don't have all day to wait for you!¨ He shouted in the monkey's language again.

Surely they were weirded out about this, but orders were orders, so they ran outside while their heads tried to make some reasoning to what had just happened.

They would also be sure to tell others in the tribe that the human knew their language.
