Moments later, Xiao Fan regretfully needed to get up and go to fight most likely his last match.
And this also means getting Qian Ki who was leaning off him.
So getting from her clutches, he made his way back towards the arena from the room they had been using so far.
Going up this time he hoped that using Greenheart all over his body would give him some advantage.
He had put it almost everywhere, and sure it was helping, but would it be enough?
When he got into the arena, he felt like it might be so.
His opponent was named Shi Gang.
He was the big brother of the two Shi Family brothers and looking at him, who had no sword, Xiao Fan felt confident.
Shi Gang had just come out of a good fight before this, and observing the number of wounds on his body, it had gone somewhat as had his fight against Shi Yong.
Shi Gang, himself, seeing Xiao Fan coming into the stage with much healthier steps, gulped down.
As he already knew what this meant most likely, and it wasn't spelling good for him.
He could, of course, surrender the fight already; however, like his little brother Shi Gang wasn't a person about this.
Them growing up, both brothers had been educated to become devout and respectable men.
This was also a good thing.
Because of that, a certain organisation here had become very interested in recruiting such candidates.
The White Sun Sect saw them as decent enough disciples, who after some ten years of training could become a part of the frontline.
Furthermore, like Shi Yong before Shi Gang.
When Xiao Fan got up to the stage to greet him, Shi Gang got up from the slight forward lean where he had been taking a breather and exchanged a few words.
¨You are ready? Remember that I will not be going easy on you¨ Xiao Fan asked while he still acted as if he could handle the Rising Ruler.
In reality, Xiao Fan surely couldn't swing this sword anymore for good effect, but he hoped that this would scare Shi Gang enough to give up.
This, of course, worked wonders on Shi Gang, who immediately started thinking about the prospects of this match.
¨Thank you for the warning. However, this tournament also tests one constitution, so I will not be surrendering¨ He said, not looking at Xiao Fan but the sword in his hands.
Marking his bluff not working, Xiao Fan wished that he had made something that could recover stamina, he had the recipes but hadn't just gotten to it.
Nevertheless, that was all wordplay.
And so after it, the real battle between the two heavily bruised contestant could start.
When the fight was announced to begin, Xiao Fan raised his sword into a guard his tip pointing at Shi Gang.
But seeing that Shi Gang wasn't moving Xiao Fan took slow steps towards him that he didn't wish to take.
And although it might seem that Xiao Fan could use the sword at least for Shi Gang, Xiao Fan, himself felt how much pain his hands were in just from keeping the sword up.
It had already taken them ten long seconds before they even welcomed the other in the middle.
During the meeting, Shi Gang throwing his punch could only watch as the sword was coming from the side towards his abdomen.
Shi Gang had already known this would be the most likely thing happening.
Then very much so like with Du Huan.
The Rising Ruler only took some parts of a second to break the skin of Shi Gang before cutting into the more softer flesh inside his stomach.
However, Xiao Fan cutting into him got himself in a pickle.
For after the sword had penetrated, he had no strength to pull it out of Shi Gang's stomach.
His sword was stuck on Shi Gang's spine.
Favourably for Xiao Fan, however, it seemed that Shi Gang had had already enough.
As when the sword had cut his flesh, the man had during that moment precise moment lost power to fight.
Shi Gang truly was a man who wouldn't surrender.
Even in the face of a certain defeat, he if having a tiny chance to win would take it, even if failure meant death.
Luckily for him, what Xiao Fan could see could the referee see.
And so, the bell that closed the fight rang seconds after Xiao Fan had gotten his sword stuck.
A rang which prompted the Shi Family members in the stand to rush towards the stage to get Shi Gang treated, or he would be dead in hours from the bleeding.
When they came to the stage.
A few of them took a glance towards Xiao Fan, yet none of those glares where hostile.
Shi Gang had chosen to do this himself, and that everyone in their family respected.
So without making a scene, they dragged him off.
Leaving on the stage, Xiao Fan, who had won the round.
Earning him a place in the top two or so he heard, yet that didn't shake him at all.
The final would be anyways against Qian Ki.
Meaning that he should just surrender at this point, for the girl in question had been leaning onto him without showing the slightest exhaustion on her body a few moments ago.
Surrendering was the reasonable decision.
Yet he wouldn't do so, and would still get up to the stage, or maybe just maybe Qian Ki would show mercy on him and surrender herself?
Although she had said she wouldn't be doing so, she shouldn't at least be doing anything bad for him, right?
What was there to lose if he dragged this a little longer?
Meanwhile, in the room where he got into, it would seem that Du Lan had already woken up.
Still on the stretcher, but was now talking to Qian Ki.
But when Xiao Fan came into the room, both of them stopped and congratulated him on his recent victory.
Pleasantries exchanged Xiao Fan came up to Du Lan, who only turned her head to face him.
She was lying there, and it was completely fine, her back was so hurt anyways that he wouldn't make her done anything.
¨How are you feeling?¨ Xiao Fan asked, looking at her eyes that seemed to smile brightly like always.
¨Its okay, I guess at least this time I will be the one pandered while recovering from an injury¨ Du Lan was already thinking about the positive things.
But to this Xiao Fan frowned a little, for she wasn't in a condition that would need a person taking care of her.
Du Lan seeing his confusion could only explain to him ¨It seems that I can't control my back. Though sister didn't rip my spine, she still did rip a considerable amount of my veins¨
¨In short for a dummy like you I can't move my legs well for maybe a week or so¨ She explained, already thinking about Xiao Fan pandering to her for a week.
Or maybe she would fake-out for even a longer time?
To this, Xiao Fan would have no complaints.
For this, quite literally meant him taking care of her everything for that time, and for him, it was a thing he would pay for.
¨Well, in that case, of course, I will be more than glad to help you get around¨ He said with a little smirk thinking about how she couldn't get away from her either.
To this, Du Lan also giggle a bit while the third person in the room could only think how much were these two thinking about sex?
They would constantly tease the other in different ways, even if she were around, which created a lot of mixed messages in her heart.
While thinking about what she could do to fix this, she came up with the perfect idea.
And the very first thing she would need to do to make her plan work was to drag the Xiao Fan who was currently kissing Du Lan out of the room.
Du Lan might be able to get her idea.
However, she didn't have to separate them right now since she did have the perfect opportunity for this coming soon.
As when the two of them were going to fight the last battle against each other, Qian Ki came close as she could get to Xiao Fan and then whispered into his ear.
The message she said was somewhat along the lines what he would be receiving from her if he managed to beat her.
Hearing her teasing whisper Xiao Fan couldn't but look at this shy creature saying something like this.
But then again, how could he beat her, even if he had all the motivation in the world to do so?
Why was she even teasing him with such a thought?
He didn't have the slightest chance to win her, yet she made such a bet...
'enough of lamenting!' he shouted to himself and pumped up himself to the max.
Right now Xiao Fan would fight even if he was about to die, for the price seemed to be a one-time offer.
Pumping up himself, they soon got out from the hallway into the arena.
Where they then separated and walked up to the stage from different stairways that were placed on the opposite ends.
On the stage, Xiao Fan again got out the Rising Ruler that this time felt much lighter than it had felt against Shi Gang.
Was this the strength that a good cause could give one, he pondered¨
While he took out his sword, Qian Ki also unsheathed her sword that unlike all the swords seen before was a little different...
Her swords handle crafted from bones, and the blade was bloodred.
To anyone else than herself viewing this sword would one only think it was a demonic weapon of some type.
Even Xiao Fan got a small shiver as this was the first time he had seen this blade.
Of course, the blade was still at the same grade as Xiao Fan's Rising Ruler, but unlike him, Qian Ki could play around with the sword as if she hadn't lifted her finger today.
And the wielder herself while toying with the blade looked at Xiao Fan and with a small smile spoke ¨Do your best, or there will be no special prices ¨ She reminded.
Xiao Fan wasn't so amazed by what she was saying, and while it was a big deal, it was a small thing compared to how she said it.
Seeing as when she came into the stage during her first-round, she looked as if she was a cowardly cat.
Yet now she could pull out that strong outwards character that she usually used around others.
He might not know.
But Qian Ki knew the reason why could she act this confident on stage right now.
It that was simply so because she had shut everything else from the surrounding and was only focussing on Xiao Fan.
On the side, the judge on his podium, seeing that Xiao Fan wasn't replying anything to the weird sentence of Qian Ki decided to start their round.
During which, Du Lan was certainly showing no mercy to him.
She was actually showing even less so compared to when they would spar.
It was noted by how she acted.
At the start, she rushed towards Xiao Fan, which only took her a couple of seconds.
When there she proceeded to send Xiao Fan flying, and would then do this again and again.
Qian Ki hurting him felt a small pain inside of her, yet she also did have a legitimate reason for her unfair bet.
She had given the notion of the price so that Xiao Fan wouldn't be tapping out too early from the fight.
Giving her some time to pummel him.
And he reason for doing so was? Well, of course, to make it so that Xiao Fan couldn't take care of Du Lan for a week.
She would much prefer to take care of Xiao Fan alone in her room while then treating Du Lan in another room.
Yes, her tactic might be a little crazy, but for her, it was all valid; all is fair in love and war.
This plan also seemed to work out.
Since Xiao Fan being thrown around wasn't tapping out, he would take massive hits yet still try to get up to fight for the price.
Even now Xiao Fan was hanging onto the hope that something would happen which would give him the victory.
Of course, nothing like that was going to happen.
And so it took a few minutes and a few broken bones inside Xiao Fan that Qian Ki couldn't take it anymore, and she threw him off the stage.
Unsurprisingly, Qian Ki had won the tournament.
She thought she had also succeeded in her plans, for Xiao Fan wasn't going to be taking care of anyone else for a week and would be at her mercy.
Being proclaimed victor of the tournament she did some thanking, yet she was smirking during it.
She smirked because she was thinking about what kind of a face would Du Lan do when she finally realises everything.
