¨Well, anyway, let us get inside¨ Having noted, Xiao Fan's note, Wang Geming said that they would be getting inside the tower.
Xiao Fan nodded and walked next to Wang Geming inside the tower while Zhuan An came behind the two. She was still ever so slightly uncomfortable in this situation where everyone was looking at her. Before she would have playfully acted everything off, but now having her man next to her she was much more meek. Yet when getting inside the tower where it was only the three of them she again faired a little better, not minding the Prince discussing with Xiao Fan too much.
She also runs off from the two of them to explore the place while Xiao Fan stops to talk with Wang Geming ¨What now?¨ He asked what their plan was next.
¨For now, we'll be waiting here. Basically, we want to be squatting here nothing else, this tower is a good place, and we don't want to be engaging in any activity that might be hurting our position¨ Wang Geming made the short version from which Xiao Fan got everything.
¨Then I have some free time? I suspect that you don't want to be seeing me fighting anymore?¨
¨Yep. You did well against the two, even killing one of them during it all, but I still don't want to be seeing you fighting in the battles here just yet. Most of the people coming here are at the Body Strengthening Realm or at least Body Activation Realm peak, so you aren't going to be helping at all during fighting¨ He knew this might hurt his new friend, yet he needed to make it clear that him fighting was not the greatest idea.
¨Then we'll see on the battlefield when I'm Body Strengthening Realm strong¨ Xiao Fan didn't mind, and he was speaking the truth after all. So he kind of promised not to be fighting until actually being helpful in the fighting.
¨Good! Now that you are back, you can do what you want. Only when I call for you do you need to come¨ Then he was leaving back outside.
However, before he got the second step in his walking, Xiao Fan had something to say still ¨Can you find her and me some robes... more fitting?¨
¨Sure thing, you have a favourite type of robes? The Military? The Police?¨ Wang Geming for sure would find them some robes fitting their new identity, even going so far that he offered to find robes from the government agency he wanted.
Though to this Xiao Fan had no opinion, but knowing the other might, he ¨An'er can you come here!¨ Called for her. Then when she had come to him, he asked ¨What outfit do you like the most from the Bald Eagle Dynasty?¨
¨The ones the Service Agency has look the nicest¨ She after a moment of thinking answered to Xiao Fan.
¨Get one of those for her, and for me... I think the Military is fine¨ He made the order of robes.
¨What?¨ Zhuan An asked, not knowing what she had signed up for, but by the time she was finished Wang Geming had left the tower.
That was quick, thought Xiao Fan before explaining ¨Well, you can't be running around as Zhuan An for quite some time anymore¨
¨So I get a new identity too?¨ She didn't ask more since she knew what was going on from that.
¨Naturally¨
¨Can you decided it for me?¨ Was her next question.
¨If you want¨
¨Give, give¨ She was excited to get one.
¨Let me think for a moment, so it can be something better than my nickname. Mask¨
¨Your nickname is Mask? What kind of nickname is that? Are you some mysterious side character who wears masks all the time?¨ She giggled, not finding the identity he had been given too good.
¨Don't remind me...¨ Xiao Fan simply said while thinking of a nickname for her.
¨Ahlspiess?¨ He offered.
¨Nope¨ She didn't like it.
¨An Zhuan? How's that one?¨ He switched her names around and offered.
¨Nope¨ She didn't like that either ¨Think of something good, mask¨
This went on for a good moment before Xiao Fan came up with the name ¨Facade¨
¨Facade?¨She hearing the name repeated it and liked it. It was a good name to build upon, plus it was somewhat close to the Mask, Xiao Fan had been given ¨Facade is good¨ She then gave her opinion.
¨If you like it that will have to do¨ Xiao Fan, hearing her like one of the fifty or so words he had been offering decided that if she liked he wouldn't continue this game of guessing ¨Now that we are done with that we should start earning points inside this tower¨
¨You mean clear those trials you have been briefing me on?¨ She also looked towards the light pillars in the middle of the room they were in.
¨Yup, the only way now to get stronger for us two is to gather a huge amount of points and then claim something off from the rewards list¨
¨Seems so. We can't go outside and explore without the fear of getting into a fight, or the need to surrender our profits to someone else who we are paying to protect us¨ Zhuan An agreed.
Like they had spoken before entering the Tomb of the Four Ancient Ones, they still knew that they couldn't really go out and fight anyone they saw. For now, their best bet to gain strength before the plans of Wang Geming would come to fruition was to clear trials and cultivate the traditional way.
¨Remember to be careful in there, nothing is certain yet¨ Xiao Fan said goodbyes and reminded her of the most important thing, survival. After which he stepped into the light pillar.
Having taken this light pillar a few times now, Xiao Fan didn't feel any uncanny feelings anymore. It seemed that his body and mind had come accustomed to travelling like this, which made his teleports to the second trial comfy actually.
Yes, the journey was comfy to him, yet when at the second trial he didn't think of such things anymore, now it was all about fighting and clearing these levels.
So when up there, he, already having his sword out of the sheath spun it around letting the light rays coming off it to search him the creatures hiding in the darkness that was similar to the first trial he had cleared a day ago.
And similar to the last time, yet this time doing this on purpose he quickly located a few different figures trying to be sneaky, however, when spotted, they tried to do the same as the creature on the first trial had done.
Xiao Fan also knowing this didn't let them do anything, and when he was sure on how many opponents he had the creature currently being shown by the light met the Rising Rules sharp blade cutting into its skull and slicing it in half.
Then as the creature was turning into ash, Xiao Fan had by then moved onto the next victim, who he knew couldn't have reacted to his movement yet, so it should be in the spot he had last seen in, and so he charged.
Trusting his abilities, he swung his sword around the spot he knew it should be, and his trust in himself was rewarded as for a very, very slight moment he felt the blade cutting into something. Most plausibly it being one of the creatures, and so he let the blade do its work before rising the Rising Ruler near his body again.
As it came to his body and he had lifted it to be completely vertical, he again, spun around the place looking for the rest of the creatures that weren't hissing anymore. Though not hissing wouldn't save them as these mortal creatures were all soon cut as if they were crass in front of a scythe.
¨Its nice that since these creatures aren't real, they don't damage the blade either ¨ Xiao Fan noted a small detail that was when he cut into the creatures his blade didn't take any wear and tear, or at least not even his enhanced feeling could note any change in the blade.
The Rising Ruler was pristine as it ever had been, okay, it did have one small dent in the side that had come from the axeman and him meeting their weapons.
Nevertheless, thinking of his blade enough Xiao Fan went towards the two light pillars which had the words ¨up¨ and ¨back¨ And when there, he took the one that had the word ¨up¨ inside it, floating in the light.
¨Oh, a different place¨ He noted when coming up to the third trial that was indeed different than the previous ones. For this one wasn't a black room, but a plain where he saw a figure standing some fifty meter away from him.
The figure which was of a human turned around and taking an empty glance at Xiao Fan it came at him.
Watching it come, he noted how the being was a cultivator, though what strikes him more was how empty the husk of a human felt. There was nothing resembling the emotion of a human inside this being. It wasn't even close to the weird creatures from before.
'Maybe it is so because it's a human figure' He kind of figured that the being was so since it was in the form of a human, which made the decision to kill or strike it hard for some, so they had eased the fact more by making it feel like an alien to anyone.
However, this fact wasn't of interest to Xiao Fan, who was knowing its cultivation to be too low, and this in mind, he simply threw his sword at the human figure coming at him. There was no need to fight this. Not even experience could be gained from fighting something that was way too low of a skill level since there was no difficulty.
Indeed it was so since the Rising Ruler used as a javelin went straight through head, not staying there at all, not even for a minute as it continued to fly towards the edge of the area while the being pierced by it turned into dust before the guard of the sword hit the forehead now disappeared.
Not thinking much of what had happened, he grabbed his sword lying on the ground after its flight and teleported himself up a level. And a level. And a few levels more.
Like the Prince had told, nothing here could go against a person until the cultivator would meet someone at his own level. The beings coming at him were all stupid and brutish, and while the fact that they didn't feel much pain was great, it didn't compensate for the fact that there were a few ways to easily kill them since they didn't fear pain.
There was also patter in all of this.
When found would they charge, not caring of the reasoning. This also worked in a way that one enemy could be so to say tagged by him, then lured out from the others and killed.
Then, for example, when fighting, they would work somewhat how a hybrid between an animal and a human would work during a fight. Wang Geming hadn't noted this, but Xiao Fan himself found this since he had been fighting both of them enough to know what the difference was.
So how did they work? We'll they worked with the nimbleness of a human, even the weird-looking ones, yet their combat skills were on the level of animals, as in only overt and repetitive actions.
Which made them boring to fight, and the fact that where Xiao Fan was by now, the combat boiled down to luring one opponent away, killing it and repeating the action. From doing this for a while, he could already see why Wang Geming had stopped doing these trials. For where he had gotten, it must be so that clearing one level took hours of this repetitive yet precise action. L
