"Huh! Think whatever you want but I already won the bet! See you no more Mr. Michael" Angel picked herself up together with the piece of paper left on the table. And with a proud smile, she went right away back to their table.
Her friends welcomed her with a resounding solid claps.
"You are really irresistible Angel!" Cassy, a baby face young lady with skinny body features, who wore clothes like dolls pushed her lightly out of adornment.
"What's new about it anyway? But Leslie has given me high hopes a while ago. She said you'll get refused by that handsome guy. And I get so excited to have a taste of your Romeo! But now, I think it will definitely not going to happen." Harly , with a down face but still a charasmatic one sounded. She was a muscled fit lady who always wore clothes with a touch of leather.
"We'll my presumptions and deductions on what's happening between them a while ago was evident so you can't blame me Harly! I never get wrong judgements but maybe this will be the first. Angel just broke my record!" Leslie reasoned with a dissatisfied look. She had a sophisticated nerdy look while facing her tablet, the conservative type, and the chubbiest out from the four of them but still oozing with sex appeal and charisma.
The four of them are best friends since their group has been formed during high school. They call themselves "CHARLES' ANGELS" derived from a movie and out from their names ; Cassy, HARly, LESlie, and ANGEL.
Even though they are living different lives now, they still manage to keep their communications and closeness. And whenever they do have the chance to be together, it mostly ends up with a bet or a challenge to each one of them.
"How is it? Did you really get his number?" Leslie moved away her face on the gadget to look at Angel for an answer.
"We'll of course! See for yourself!" Angel placed the piece of paper with a sort of force on the table. Then, she gloriously had her seat. 'My Romeo is now safe!'
"If you don't want him, then let me have his number! He's my type!" Cassy hastily explained as she observed that none of the other girls moved to take a look of it.
In their group, Cassy is always the type that easily falls into handsome men.
The rest of them just looked at Cassy as if they already knew the scenario. And that the reason they didn't bother to look for the number inside the paper was because they knew Cassy would fight for it.
Then, the three of them put their faces on their gadgets.
Cassy breathtakingly opened the piece of paper out from excitement. But when she had finally opened it, her face frowned. It was a face with a lot of question marks and badly wanted to understand what was on the paper.
"Hey Cassy, what's the problem?" Leslie curiously asked as the edge of her eyes could sense Cassy's distorted facial expression. She was always the observant one.
"Have you seen a phone number like this?" Cassy responded as she held the piece of paper open wide for Leslie to see.
Harly and Angel didn't mind themselves from what the two were talking. But Leslie's next words and reaction caught them.
"Woa! Buckle up ladies!" Leslie laughed a little as she exasperated like a woman who had won a billion prize lotto ticket.
The three of them looked at her with twisted faces.
Then, Leslie threw her meaningful eyes back and forth to Harly and Cassy. "I think we'll have Romeo in our hands ladies!" She happily announced it as she stood up with her fists raised up high.
While the three of them was still processing her words in their minds, Leslie moved out from their table.
"First person to find and touch Romeo will have him for the first month!" She excitedly added and ran quickly out from the café.
As soon as Harly heard Leslie, she had also got everything in her mind now. Her instinct of getting Romeo first was awakened so she followed Leslie right away.
Cassy on the other hand, still didn't understand what just happened but thinking of the two running for Romeo's possession, she felt the need to follow them.
"No! I must have Romeo first!" Cassy expressed with a fragile voice while taking her soft child-like walk.
Angel was left alone in their table and completely stoned on her seat. It took a while before she realized that her friends left to get her Romeo.
"What just happened? Why?" She was trying to analyze everything, thinking of where did she make a mistake on their bet. Then, suddenly a word came up to her mind.
"Number! The phone number!" She was holding her head with her two hands, acting slightly crazy while searching the piece of paper on the table. But she couldn't find it in there until she decided to look under the table and finally found it.
To her desperation, she rashly took the paper and looked on what was written to it.
" 3545 "
"Holy! Piece of sh…!" She fussed and hardly bumped her head on the concrete table as she totally forgot she was still under it, causing her to cut what she was about to say.
"That bastard is an idiot! I didn't ask for any number! Wait, I also didn't say it's his phone number that I want! Urgh! Great! "
"Angel!" A female voice interrupted her outrage which made her startled and hit her head again on the table. She was totally pissed off now.
"What are doing there?" Leslie curiously added.
"What do you want?" Angel responded with a great displeasure in her face as she finally stood up. She was caressing her head from the sudden bumps.
"Hey! Relax dear!" Leslie replied while controlling herself from laughing on Angel's helplessly defeated angry face.
"What?" Angel was still indifferent but more relaxed this time.
"You know your sweet pretty Romeo will not warm up without..."
"Get it in my bag. It's near you!" Angel cut Leslie's words off. She did not want to hear about Romeo for the moment. Her heart was aching by just thinking of him.
"Thanks! Bye!" Leslie's eyes brightly twinkled as she took what she was looking for in the bag.
Then, she left Angel sorrowful and alone again.
After five minutes, Angel had finally accepted her defeat with a heavy heart. She decided to go out and have her farewell to Romeo.
As she went out, she saw her three friends having a hard time to start a Bugatti La Voiture Noire car, her car, her Romeo! The most expensive and latest car in the world!
"You three! Will you stop harassing my baby Romeo!" Angel still had a little indifference in her voice.
Harly and Cassy behave themselves on the side of the car immediately.
"Angel.." Leslie was about to say something but she stopped as she saw Angel raising her hands with firm open palms in a serious face, signaling her to stop from talking.
"Move! And give me some time with Romeo before I let him go!"
Leslie followed Angel's order like a puppy and moved to the next seat.
"Juliet" Angel voiced out and the car's controls lighted.
"Welcome back my Juliet!" A male voice responded her.
Of course aside from the car key, the car is customized for her and the voice command is one of its features.
Leslie become more love-struck with the car! But seeing Angel's pitiful face, she just gave her time to say goodbye.
Angel suddenly hugged the car. " I'm sorry my dear Romeo, I have to hand you over to them!" She was almost crying from losing the bet and losing her car. The car was her dad's birthday gift to her a month ago and now she will be just giving it away just like that.
"I am never wrong with my deductions!" Leslie unmindfully sounded with so much pride on herself.
"Yeah, you are! Now, can you tell if my father will not get angry on me after this?" Angel sarcastically asked. She was a bit annoyed from her disturbed moment with Romeo.
"Based from your father's personality and from your records on him, I think he will be very angry. No, the right word will be very furious! He might even get you out from his house. But that's not our problem anymore! It's yours!" Leslie seriously answered and gave her a teasing smile in the end.
Angel's face was indescribable. It was worried but more of horrified now.
"But if that's the case, I will tell them that we will not take Romeo away from you." Leslie continued as she felt guilty of what might Angel's father do to her.
"No. I have to face the consequences. A bet is a bet. I know our rules in the first place." Angel softly said as she composed herself.
"Are you sure about this?" Leslie made sure of her decision.
Angel just nodded and planted her last kiss on Romeo.
