Chapter 30
Today is Mary Dale's flight back to Manila.
It has been five years since she left.
To say that it hasn't been easy would be an understatement.
Her plan of working for her aunt didn't push through.
She actually met her father once she arrived in Japan.
He told her of what happened between him and his mother.
He asked for her forgiveness and asked her to live with him and his Japanese wife.
She was hesitant at first but her stepmother was a kind although a bit timid woman.
Overtime, she treated Mary Dale like her own daughter.
After a year of processing her documents they legally adopted her.
Dale started her own Japanese fusion restaurant with the help of her parents.
Her specialty is her version of sushi which was Edward's favorite.
She poured herself into the business to avoid remembering her heartbreak.
Her restaurant became very successful that they were able to open six more branches in five years.
She plans to expand her business in the Philippines with the suggestion of her father.
Her father suggested a merger with his business partner whom Dale hadn't met yet.
But from what she knows, he had only been his father's business partner last year while she was vacationing in the US.
She hadn't met him yet but she agreed because her father said that it will only be a business marriage.
She doesn't need love anyway.
She already lost her faith in it a long time ago.
But the catch is that, her fiancé wants a natural way for them to have children.
Meaning he wants to exercise his human rights with his wife.
Which will be Dale.
She agreed to that condition too!
She's no longer a virgin anyway and besides she can just lie there like a dead fish while they have sex.
She considers it a small sacrifice for everything that her parents did for her.
And besides she....
She was snapped out of her reverie when the pilot announced their arrival in Manila.
She got up to get her things.
Her father told her that her fiancé arranged for someone to pick her up.
Her father actually arrived yesterday to arrange the engagement announcement and company merger.
He and his wife went ahead of her because she had something important to do.
As she was walking to the exit she kept looking for someone who has her name on a placard.
She kept looking when she suddenly got a glimpse of a familiar back who walked past her.
It came from the same flight as her.
She froze.
She can feel her heart beating rapidly in her chest.
She tried to calm her heart.
"It's not him! It can't be! It's just your imagination!" she kept telling herself.
She didn't notice that she is already being called by someone.
"Ms. Tanaka?"
