Chapter 32

As soon as she steps inside the hall, her father approaches her and signals to someone who she doesn't see.

She didn't immediately notice her surroundings because she was focused on her breathing.

Then suddenly, the strains of a wedding march started to play.

She looked at her father with confusion.

Her father pats her hand and tucks her left arm in his right one and prods her to walk.

She's starting to feel her heart beating so fast.

She finally looks around and noticed some familiar faces in the crowd.

She saw Jinnie and Elisse standing amongst them with a mixture of happiness and tears on their faces.

And she even sees the woman that Edward married.

What the hell is she doing here?!?

And why is she smiling at me?

Her mind is reeling from all that is happening.

She looks at her father and whispered, "I thought I'm just getting engaged? What is happening right now?"

"This is what your fiancé wants. And I see no point in prolonging the engagement since you are going to marry him whether you like it or not." her father answers in a very calm voice.

Panic starts to creep in to Dale.

"But what about me? Don't I get a say in this matter?"

"Why? Don't tell me you won't honor the agreement?"

At the mention of the word "honor", Dale shuts her mouth.

She knows how important "honor" is to her Japanese father.

She shakes her head.

"I'm sorry." and she looks down feeling ashamed of herself.

"I know you won't believe me now when I tell you that this is for your own good but it is. I trust him to take care of you and also our businesses."

She wonders what it is that convinced her father that her husband to be is such a great catch.

She didn't notice that they are already near the altar.

She looks at the side and she is surprised that her aunt and her husband is there with her mother.

Her aunt is crying while her mom looks at her with a reserved smile.

She looks at the other side and sees Quen standing there.

He is smiling widely at her.

If it is even possible for her heart to beat faster and louder it would have done so.

She thinks she's going to faint from everything that is happening.

She can't focus on her surroundings.

Then finally her father stops walking and puts her hand in her fiancé's hand.

She looks at the very familiar hand that is holding hers.

Slowly, she looked at the face of the hand's owner.

And God help her, she couldn't stop herself from staring at her fiancé's face with her mouth open and her eyes as big as saucers.

This can't be happening!

She must still be in her suite, in her bed, having a nightmare!

She can't breathe!

She starts to panic.

"What do I do?"

"What do I do?"

She keeps repeating it in her mind.

The gravity of the situation sinks in when the pastor started speaking.

But her mind can't focus on what he is saying.

She didn't remove her gaze on her fiancé's face.

He is looking at the pastor when he suddenly glanced at her.

He leans in to whisper in her ear.

"Didn't I tell you that I won't ever let you go?"
