Late Night Stroll

Night.. quite boring isn't it..? especially if you can't sleep.

Actually more specially if you can't sleep because of five cups of coffee a few hours ago.

Well maybe 5 cups is an exaggeration just a few... yes.. a few totally.

Right now I'm just in my bed looking up wondering what to do with my actual life.

It was like I'm hearing the clock tick in my head.. It was uncomfortable which made me more awake than ever.

After a few more minutes of contemplating what to do with my life, I finally decided.

I want to have a stroll outside, where there's the breeze of the cold night and the dark streets as you walk along the path.

Which gave me some chills just thinking about it, but inside my head it seems fun, and is one of my greatest idea ever.

So after deciding, I got dressed and ready to venture out into the dark streets.

Well there is lights that turns on when it's late, but still you know still pretty dark out there.

After getting dressed I finally went out. I didn't take anything with me just my cellphone and a few cash just if I see some food on the way, well.. if there is even something open at this hour.

It was around one am already, nothing seems to be out of the ordinary in this streets.

Well I'm not really worried or anything, even if someone came up to me I have a few self defense tricks up my sleeves, not literally up my sleeves though.

Just as I was walking down the street, I feel a spine chilling stare from behind.

I slowly turn around to see nothing behind me, which is quite weird because I'm pretty sure I though something was staring at me.

I felt that chill again, this time I looked up, then at my left to see.. a cat.

"Oh.. that was anti-climactic" I said disappointed yet relieved.

"Well at least it was nothing" I chuckled to myself.

"Hello little kitty.. come hereeee.." I said as I crouched while it jumped down from up the wall.

It started to approach me but stopped, I then saw a blinding light from down the road while I also heard a beeping sound.

I then moved towards the kitty to avoid whatever the thing was.

Which apparently was a truck, "That was a close call ain't it kitty?" I said as I looked at the kitty.

The kitty just looked at me confused as he -based from the looks the cat is a male- meows at me.

He then moves on and walks away.

I then continued my midnight stroll, still contemplating about my life.

"This is quite fun actually" I said quite excited to explore the area more, "I should do this more often."

While walking through the area, I found a convenience store, I then went in to grab something to eat or maybe drink.

I just grabbed a burger and also coke to drink.

After purchasing, I then went out of the store and continued my stroll.

Luckily there was a park nearby, I entered the park, which I sat in a bench near the fountain.

It was actually very pretty out tonight.

As I was eating my food, I couldn't help notice someone in this park also.. and no it isn't the usual horror type.

Where you would see a person or creature of some sort and scare you.

No it's nothing like that. I think I talked to that person some time in my life..

It was a girl, a cute girl at that. I have no clue why they're even out here at this hour, where anything can happen.

I mean this is a safe town but still it pays to be safe.

As I look closer.. it was actually someone I know... That someone I know... used to be my 'best friend'.. and the one I fell in love with.

We were friends during fourth year of highschool, then somehow we grew apart from each other..

I couldn't blame her, I'm just me.. and well she is basically the cutest person in our class for me anyways.

Well it was fine, I knew we we're gonna our separate ways anyway.. it was bound to happen.

My only regret was not being with her... but she already had a boyfriend or was it a girlfriend? I'm not sure anymore.

It hurt back then.. but the only thing I could do was accept it... nothing was going to happen between us..

It was fine for me.. I had that one Ex tho. Which I did enjoy my time with her, but as always we separated.

I'm just here sitting at the bench thinking if I should talk to her.

I mean it's gonna be awkward and we haven't talked in months or maybe a year already? .. she was busy.

Thinking about it for quite a time, but still can't decide.

I didn't notice that she was actually approaching me, so as soon as I heard someone call me by my name.

Eventually I responded with "Hello!" which was a natural response.

"Hey... what's up..?" She responded to me.

"Uh... the sky?" I said while laughing at my joke, she chuckled a little.

"Very funny" She giggled to humor me at my joke, "haven't seen each other in months, huh?"

"Well yeah.." I said sheepishly, "To be honest I miss you.."

"Well that's.. when you put it that way... I guess I miss you too" She said quite nervously yet genuine.

"I also missed teasing and messing with you.." I chuckled to start teasing her again.

"Well that's just mean.." She puffed her cheeks at me while crossing her arms.

"You're trying to act cute?" I said as she gets flushed red, "Well it's working alright."

"Pshh, why would I?" She said laughing, "I really do miss your jokes."

"Well it's not a joke though?" I said quite sheepishly, "You know me, I don't joke much about those."

"Well yeah.. that's why I got mad at you sometimes when we were at highschool" She said punching me lightly.

"Ouch, well I can't really keep my opinion to myself" I said shrugging, "even though you probably get a lot of compliments because of how cute and nice you are" I added while chuckling lightly.

"Hey, I'll have you know I am handsome" She said jokingly.

"Yes, ofcourse you are. That's why I love ya" I said humoring her as I motion near my seat, "C'mon seat with me, let's catch up on things"

"Thanks" She said sitting down, "Well do you now? We didn't really get to make that topic clear didn't we?" she said chuckling.

"Well yeah... things got busy and well... things change" I said shrugging, "I mean I told you tho, things would change."

"I guess you did say something bad would happen.. but you didn't explain... jerk.." She says as she punches me in the shoulder again.

"Sorry.. okay..? it's Been hard kind of... I miss you okay?" I said not looking at her.

"Well.. yeah I miss you too" She says puting her hands on my shoulder, "Awkward hug?" She says opening her arms at me.

"Awkward hug" I said as a I hug back, " I miss this.. told you, you should have been mine" I said making a cat face.

"I just don't know yet still.." she says unsure.

"Well... I'm waiting.." I said still hugging her, "We can give it a shot ya know.." I said shrugging, "We can just stop it if you don't really want it."

"Well I guess that could work..." She says breaking out of the hug which lasted for more than a minute.

"Well what do you say..?" I say smiling at her trying to act cute.

"Let's hang out more, then I'll decide" She says kissing my cheek.

"Well that's a start" My cheeks starts to go red, actually more like my whole body was red. Fire would start from how red I was.

"So you doing anything tomorrow?" She said smiling at me, which for me was the most beautiful sight ever.

"Ofcourse I'll keep waiting till I get ya" I start to grin as we sit up, "I'll get you home.. you live near by right?"

"Yeah I mean I think I live near your house" she says surprising me.

"Wait really? well then I guess I know where I'm hanging out everyday" I said laughing.

"Hey, you still need to tell me tho, if you're coming. Also you can't come if I'm busy." she says with a strict voice.

"Okay ma'am" I said laughing more.

"Very funny but seriously tho we should probably head home now" she says as we start to head home.

The walk home was amazing, I mean it was just a normal walk... with my highschool crush.. which is still my crush today.

We were just catching up with each others, trying to figure out what is up with each other's life.

On our way home I saw the kitty again, "Oh look it's the kitten I saw earlier."

"Oh my gosh! it's so cutee!" she says as she squeals.

"Yeah, I remember how you used to make kitty noises" I said chuckling, "Which was the most adorable thing I ever seen."

"Ofcourse I'm adorable" she said while she grins at me, "I am a cat now."

"Sure you are" I said laughing lightly, "Anyways where's your house now?"

"It's just around the corner, right there" when we turned a corner she points toward a house.

Which was actually just a few blocks away from my house. "How did I not know your house is this close.."

"Well you didn't check up on me so you didn't know" she says shrugging.

"Well yeah I guess... I mean it was an awkward time when school was ending" I said also shrugging.

"Hmm.. that's that I guess, let's just get home now" she says as we near her house, "next time your showing me your house." she smirks at me.

"Yeah sure, maybe tomorrow?" She nods and replies to my question, "By tomorrow.. maybe not at this kind of hour, maybe around morning."

"Well.. I'm just surprised to actually see you at this hour ya know" I say as a matter of fact, "I mean anything can happen at this hour."

"Pshh I'm fineee as you can see" she says showing that she's fine, "If you're that worried then come with me next time?"

"Well maybe I will! and I will make sure nothing happens to you" with pride in my voice I jokingly said.

We share a laugh together as we finally said our goodbye for tonight.

She walks inside the door towards her house as I wave goodbye.

"This... was something alright... quite an eventful night" I smiled for the thousand time tonight as I head home.

She makes me happy.. I hope it's mutual.

I then entered my house, it was very near from her house like very near actually.

I finally set my alarm clock. It's time for bed.

I sunk into my bed as I lay down, "Finally back in my warm bed.."

I smiled again, this night was just great.. but now it's time to sleep.

There is still tomorrow... it's gonna be good alright.
