Any bright Ideas?

... The rest of the vanguards had initially tried to talk to Odrunn to figure him out to see if Odrunn would be their second in charge, but soon gave up and started to vote for David to do it instead.

Odrunn was too inexperienced to be a leader, plus his carefree attitude would be bad for the vanguards.

Vero walked forwards as he waited for the offense team to nominate a leader for them to discuss the on-goings. Needless to say, it was more chaotic there than it would ever be within the vanguards.

Just walking in and hearing the conversation going on was enough for him to shake his head.

"I think that young master Basil should be the leader. His personal charisma is enough plus he is from a noble family and this would prove to be a good experience for him."

"What do you mean by that! Wouldn't young mistress Soli be better for that instead? She is more level headed and wouldn't do things illogically!"

Someone from the Aquos family shouted, wanting to let Soli be the commander instead.

"Now now, let's be honest, Soli is too emotionally invested, what if she needed to sacrifice her commoner friends and she wasn't willing? I think young master Basil would be better for it."

Falcor stepped up and tried to sow discord, he rather let Basil take over the position of leader than to let Soli have the honor.

"That makes sense, we need someone who can make decisions and not… Wait, by her commoner friends you don't mean…"

A person in the crowd came to a realization before someone else answered.

"One of them is one of the juggernauts that dominated the vanguard stage, the other one is the one who single-handedly destroyed the AI and all the soldiers. If she were to sacrifice someone wouldn't she sacrifice you instead?"

The comment came like a face slap to Falcor's face who turned bright red. He had tried to push Soli down but instead got attacked instead.

Basil, watching everything happening took a step forward,

"Whoever wants to follow me can follow me, whoever wants to follow Soli can follow her, I don't really care. But to those who decide to follow me, don't get in my way and do your job."

Basil clearly drew the line as he walked a distance away from Soli, with everyone splitting to the sides they want to follow, a majority of the offense team decided to follow Basil, moving entirely to his side, amongst the people there were Falcor as well as his lackeys.

The students remaining on Soli's side were mostly indecisive, with the exception of the regular suspects. There was still a chance that more people will up and leave away from them.

Soli walked over to Z's side seemingly wanting him to be on her team, to which of course he agreed. It was either he followed Soli or he went off on his own to do his own thing. Which meant his teamwork rating would be gone entirely.

Since there were now 3 groups in total, they had to come together with Vero to discuss strategies. Soli with a smaller group, Basil with a bulk of the offense and Vero who is in charge of the Vanguards.

As the three of them gathered, Vero had Odrunn and David as his back, Soli had brought along Z, Ashli, and Arlene. Basil looked at them and raised his eyebrows as he pointed out,

"This is a commander meeting, why are there so many irrelevant people around?" He said sounding displeased.

"Come on, Basil, the three of us are able to handle things but it would be wise to have fresh eyes looking out on the situation perhaps they can come up with things we can't."

Vero replied calmly, trying not to let the situation blow out of proportion.

"I highly doubt so, we are engaged in combat, not a tea party if you want to sit around and talk about your feelings you can do it later. I'm just going to tell you what I will be doing and you can have fun at your tea party later."

Basil scowled as he opened up the map, it was a very precisely drawn map showing exactly what was on the screen at the beginning.

"This... this is some good quality stuff the ridgelines, mountains everything is drawn to scale. Did you have someone with you who could draw something this quickly with that little amount of information?"

Soli asked as she admired the map.

"This is none of your business. But if you decide to join my side, maybe I can let you into this secret. But otherwise, this information is strictly confidential."

Basil smiled as he retorted Soli who just rolled her eyes as she looked away.

"Look, here's my plan, all of you can defend or do whatever you want, I will lead the bulk of the students and we will overwhelm them in the left castle, once we kill the general there, we will approach the middle followed by the right.

I would suggest for all of you to get out of my way and not interrupt us while we approach the castle. By the time we finish the middle castle, we should have time to support all of you on the castle on the right."

After telling them his strategy, Basil rolled up his map and left without even taking a second look, leaving the rest of the people in the meeting to their own devices.

Walking back into his crowd, Falcor approached him from the side,

"Master Basil, is the situation settled?"

He put on a smiling face as he tried to talk to Basil.

"Yes, just follow my lead and I'll bring all of you to victory."

Basil replied with a cruel smile as he led the students that were following him away to the side.

Vero stood in front of the table, looking at Soli as he asked,

"So... any bright ideas?"
