Known Danger, Unknown Danger

"Alright, I need to get out of here and collect those items. Good thing I already got someone to find it for me for free." Aiden smirked when he remembered that woman.

With everything done, he was about to leave. He obtained the light from the statue class, and after he was done fulfilling its requirement, he will obtain the class no matter what.

"Since I finished everything and everyone is gone. I have spare time to look for the key."

If Aiden had to guess, the spare key would be held by an important person.

"Hopefully, that person left it behind or else I cannot do anything about her situation." He left the garden and checked behind a door that looked different from the rest. In there he saw a tidy room with stacks of history books about the world of Verse-Way.

He did not see a key, but something else caught his eyes.

Next to a desk, there was a wooden chest with a note attached to it.

"For Fair YarnSphere, a new member of the Golden Deer. Please give this to him..." Aiden continued to read the note.

At the end of it, it listed the items needed for the Avant-garde Caster. It said that the items were in the chest, and to give it to him when he comes by.

He opened it to see if it was really there.

===

You have met all the requirements for Avant-garde Caster.

Would you like obtain the class?

Yes/No

===

He was shocked to see all the items here in once place.

"Yes!" He said without hesitation.

The items in the box turned into useless powdered as soon as he said it. Then a message appeared saying he obtained the class.

"It should be expected that they have the materials needed to obtain the Avant-garde caster class for new members who wanted to be one. I should thank her for helping me find this." If it was not for the girl in the cell, he would have left without looking around first.

Although he could not find the key, he knew of a different solution to get her out now that he obtained the Avant-garde Caster class.

Not wanting to stick around any longer, he headed back to the prison.

The girl waited anxiously for the boy to return with a key. She knew it was hopeless to leave her fate to a thirteen-year boy, but what choice does she have.

She had been trapped here for two days without water or food.

Although she showed a strong front to Aiden, inside, she felt terrified.

Hearing someone stepping down the stairs, she hid back to her cold corner. She was afraid that it was a Playman coming to kill her or send her away to be tortured.

It was because of them that she felt so weak and afraid. They made her eat a poison that blocked for from using her skills.

Feeling powerless and defenseless, she easily caved into her fear.

"Why are you hiding?"

Hearing the voice of a young boy, she came out of the shadow with an arrogant attitude. "Hiding, me? I was just taking a nap cause you were taking too long. So, did you find the key?"

"No. I am afraid that I have to leave you now."

"Wait don't leave-"

"I'm kidding." Aiden smiled playfully. He wanted to get her back for lying before.

She sighed a breath of relief. "Then how are you going to get me out?"

"Just watch"

Aiden opened his menu to check his character stats.

'Four skills right of the bat. Not bad for a common class. I even got mana and magic stats added. Too bad my mana is not high… And I just remembered I have the waste disease...' He had forgotten about it until now due to the Statue Class Memory messing with his sense of time.

After he was done checking his skills, he activated one of them in a hurry.

"White Tattoo of Magic!" He declared.

Then a white tattoo shaped like the moon appeared on top of his hand.

Then he waved his hand, causing a white light similar to an arrowhead to shoot forth at the lock.

Then two, then five, and many more until the lock broke. It did not cost any mana as long as the White Tattoo was still in effect. However, there was a delay between each shot though.

"Good thing they did not invest much on this prison cell or else it might have taken longer to break it." He said. "Alright, you're free now. You should hurry and get out of here while you can."

Not waiting for her to leave her cell, Aiden ran back to the hole where he came from. Although he did receive a class, it was weak at the moment and did not want to stay for a fight.

Also, he had something to do, or else he would die. If he were a player, he would not mind as much since he would have come back to life, but being an NPCs made him fear for his life.

'I need to get rid of this debuff soon before it changes from low to mid.' The waste disease debuff was not doing anything to him yet, but give it enough time, and it will start eating at his hitpoints. Also, with his low hitpoints, he would not last an hour before his health reach 0.

'I need to find my way to a doctor and fast. It has already been some time since I got the waste disease debuff.'

He hesitated to activate another skill that would reveal that he enter the Golden Deer Guild without permission, but his life was more important.

He cast the Blue Tattoo of Speed as he ran. On his legs, tattoos appeared like blue ink dripping on paper. Then he felt his legs becoming lighter that he almost tripped from the sudden speed boost.

Running through the sewer with splish splash sound echoing throughout the tunnel, he reached the nearest manhole he could find.

Knocking away the lid, he leaped out only to be welcome with hundreds of people staring at him.

"Hey, is that an NPC? Why did he come out of the sewer?"

"That blue tattoo on its leg!? It could mean only one thing!"

"Is he an Avant-garde Caster?"

"He can't be from the Golden Deer Guild, can he? He looks too weak and dirty."

Aiden could hear all the comments being made about him, but he ignored it and looked for something to tell him where he was at until a message appeared.

Warning!

Waste Disease(low) has evolved into Waste Disease(mid)

Aiden quickly checked his status only to see his hitpoints dropped by one point.

'Shit it came faster than I thought. I need to hurry.' He took a deep breath to calm himself. Then he quickly zigzagged through the crowds as he avoided bumping into people. He was a like a blue lightning flashing as he dashed because of his tattoo giving off blue light.

Next to the manhole where Aiden came out of, a man and a woman watched him ran with a suspicious gaze. The two wore armbands with a picture of a Golden Deer on it.

"Melissa, follow him and give me an update on his location. I will report this back to the guild officers. Once we know for sure that he trespassed onto our guild house without permission, I will message you to take care of him."

Seeing that the person who ran away was an NPC, the two felt no remorse on killing Aiden. Unlike players, once an NPC died, there was no way for them to hold a grudge and get revenge on them.

With a nod, Melissa secretly tailed Aiden, and the man walked back to the guild to talk to a guild officer. He could not directly speak to them like Aiden, and his friend once did by using an item.

One of the two players either needed a skill or item for long-distance communication in the game.

However, since the item needed was expensive for players in the beginner zone to obtain, it was wiser to speak face-to-face unless it was an emergency, which the man deemed it was not, yet.

Inside the sewer, a girl overheard the woman and man conversation. It was the same girl from the cell. She escaped the same way as Aiden since it was deemed safer and wanted to say something to him.

She tried catching up to Aiden, but he was too quick, which caught her by surprise.

By the time she made it to the manhole where Aiden had left, she had overheard the two spoke about Aiden.

"Since you saved me, I will return the debt." When Aiden broke her cell, she felt free of her fear. She wanted to repay him for that.
