Aiden visited three different places in the hope that a doctor would remove his debuff, but none of them wanted to see him. Each one of them kicked him out with a rude comment. It was due to his pungent smell and no money to pay for the medicine.
He even tried to ask players for money walking by to help, but they avoided him like the plague.
"Dammit, it has only been 13 minutes, and my health dropped another point. I need to find something to heal myself since getting a medicine without money is practically impossible." He thought about stealing potions from shops, but it was risky.
The punishment was not being sent to jail like in the real world, but instead, forced labor. The time doing forced labor was as high as their crimes and thievery were at least two weeks in the mine.
He knew a player who went to jail and killed himself so he could revive instead of wasting time in mining. Although he lost a lot of experience, it was still worth doing it.
"There is a monster that drops a healing item. I will need to go hunt them to sustain my life while looking for materials to sell until I can afford the medicine."
With haste, he ran towards the direction that led him outside the city wall. Outside the city, there was a vast grass forest with giant looking green spikes coming off the ground. Even though the spikes' texture looked like a rock from afar, they were classified as trees.
People called it Barkless Cone Tree because of their shape.
Aiden stepped out of the city a couple of times before he became an NPCs, but he never hunted monsters alone. He always teamed up with a friend.
"This should be south of the forest where the monster called Drop Dew Saper is located." He never hunted them before, but he had many pieces of information regarding monsters, especially in the early game.
Drop Dew Saper was a tree type monster that drops an item that called healing dew. Healing dew was very valuable for beginner players since it heals one health point, and Drop Dew Sapers was easy to kill.
The hunting ground was not filled with players because of two reasons, even though the healing dew was a healing item. One was because of the Healing dew restrictions. It can not be stored in their inventory, and the item can expire and turn into plain water shortly after.
Another reason was that it was far from the city for supplies, and dying in this game came with severe consequences for the players. When they die, they lose all their items and equipment they had on, not including items in their inventory. It was possible to retrieve after death, but by the time they would get back, their corpse would most likely be looted. Also, they lose experience proportion to the star rank.
Aiden ran with all his might without the speed buff from the Blue Tattoo of Speed. Ten minutes had already passed, and he could not recast the skills because it cost two mana, and he only got one left.
'By the time I get there, I would only have three hit points left. Once I get rid of this debuff, I need to start training my stats.'
He ran hard with his untrained body. He felt his chest burning and legs cramping, but he continued to move in one direction no matter what.
Twenty minutes and his health was down to 7, and it felt he was halfway there. He saw many players fighting against monsters.
Another 10 minutes, and he sweats covered from head to toe. His new body never endured such extreme stress. Nonetheless, he pushed his immature body to the limit and beyond with pure will power.

'A little longer… Just a little longer...' Aiden could not run anymore, but he never stopped moving even he had to limp himself there. His right leg was in pain, and muscle was cramping that he could not lift it no matter how much he tried.
He cursed the developer for adding realistic pain. Even before he became an NPCs, he still felt pain, but whenever it gets too much for the player to handle, the system had ways to alleviate the pain.
But apparently, it did not work for him.
After traversing the forest for at least 3 miles away from the city, which took almost 40 minutes, he finally saw a Drop Dew Saper alone, sleeping.
'My health is down to 4, not like I predicted… must be the persistence stat...' He panted hard as he said.
He stared at the Drop Dew Saper, sleeping next to a Barkless Cone Tree. The monster was well camouflaged, but his current avatar had excellent vision making it easy to spot.
The Drop Dew Saper body looked like it got two arms, and two legs, but it was made out of thin branches and around Aiden's height.
Its head shaped like a pear with two yellow spots for eyes.
With its head being largely disproportion to its body, it made people wonder how it was able to stand, much less walk.
Aiden's knees were buckling after he stopped moving and wanted to rest, but he told himself not too.
'If only I have more mana… then I can activate the White Tattoo of Magic and shoot it from afar. But, for now, there is no way to recover my mana until nightfall… I need a different approach.'
Although the Drop Dew Saper was weak, his stats were lower than a level one player. Hence, he had a high chance of dying to it.
He needed to think of a way to deal with the monster and fast.
