Tragedy

Inside the building, there was a very long hallway that was at least 100 meters and from one end to another and on either side of the hallway there were doors which lead to different testing rooms depending on what were you going to test for, but Sam has to make an appointment first for the test thus he can only go the end of the hallway where a lady was sitting on the counter.

Sam went to her and made his appointment for the test as if someone misses their test at their institute on the specific date then they can only apply for it at the association to get their ability measured. Sam soon got his appointment time in half an hour.

when Sam appointment time arrived he went into a room in the hallway another teenager was coming out of the room and he had a very sad face and his eyes were slightly swollen which proved that he had cried just now, and just from his face Sam could tell that kid got a really bad result, this was enough for Sam to feel nervous about his own result.

While feeling nervous Sam can only enter the room and be done with the test, whatever result it might present. Room was really big from the inside and at the centre of it was a large box with many equipment attaching at many sides and on the side of the room, some monitors were present and few peoples were working on them. They were in white cloths which he could guess that for constant monitoring the situation of the candidate.

Soon one of the men who was thereafter seeing him on the gate came to him and asked for the token of his appointment. Sam showed him his token which he got when he was making his appointment, after checking that token that man invited Sam to the glass box in the middle of the room but before he sent Sam into a small chamber at the corner of the room for changing into a special dress.

Within a minute Sam was in the lab dress and made his way into the Glass chamber which was specifically made to not leak any mana of the core stone. Inside there was a trey present which contains the lowest grade core stone to reduce any chance of producing any pets. As Sam himself didn't bring any core stones he could only use these free ones but he has to wait first as the observers were starting all the machines and neutralizing all the air inside the glass box.

Within a minute box got ready and the observers outside sent him a signal to start the absorption of the core stone. Sam quickly calmed his mind from the excitement and the nervousness it brought and stabilize his body and mind in the best state possible only then he picked the core stone there.

Sam closed his eyes and broke the stone and within a moment he felt a warm current flowing in his body and surprisingly a sound came along with it and a panel appeared in front of his eyes even when it was closed.

Sam was surprised at the occurrence of that panel again and he becomes even more surprised at the content in it as this showed that this panel could become more powerful if its power level reached 100.

Inside the box Sam was gloating at his discovery but the observers were feeling something entirely different now as the equipment was showing that Sam absorbed 100% of the mana in the core stone while normally a normal human could absorb 10% of the mana in the stone and even the highest record previously was 15% but just now they saw that a kid in front of them absorbed a total of 100% of mana of core stone which was just insane on any standard.

While Sam was enjoying the feeling absorption of mana give the observers were sweating from the abnormal data they were reading. Soon observers double checked all the reading and confirmed that there was no problem in the reading their real problem started as to how to handle this situation.

But they soon made calls all over the places they could contact and reported the matter as the current process was out of their hand and they didn't know how to handle the situation but in reply they got was that continue all the tests and if all the results are similarly abnormal report only then to report again and if the other results are normal then give him a score of 10% absorption. As all the upper-level official believed that some equipment malfunctioned that's why it gave such abnormal data because they have got similar reports in past but they were all due to some equipment malfunctioning that's why they believed that further test should clarify the results.

Sam who was lost in his own world didn't have the slightest idea that few minutes he spent in the glass box after absorbing the core stones had nearly rung his death bell as a lab rat. Unknowingly how much a problem he is in Sam was let to the next test which was for the elements testing, soon again Sam was let into a similarly similar glass box for the testing.

When Sam was being escorted to the next test room he found that the atmosphere between the observers was somewhat strange as all of them were stealing glances from him. The atmosphere was making him uncomfortable but he couldn't do anything to resolve it thus he ignored it.

in the second glass room, there was similarly some stones were kept but they were not the core stones but a recently discovered stone from the new surroundings, there were of seven types and each of them reacts to different element affinities and if a person can glow any of those stone then he had that affinity, most common affinity which manifests among the humans were earth, fire and water and the rarest among them were light and dark.

Many of the observers were watching the monitor which was showing Sam on its screen and while many of them were hoping to get a normal reading but some among them wanted that they could have some abnormal reading so they could get some fame from it.

but unknown to their feeling Sam in the test place started to release the mana in his body while he hoped that panel could again react from those stones like it reacted when he was absorbing core stone but his hopes were failed this time as no panel appeared but a flash occurred among the stones for a split second and in the end, the fire and water stones lit up dimly.

The flash of the stones which occurred for a split second, none of the equipment managed to record it and none of the observers saw it but this managed to save the life of Sam as all the other results were also average.

Soon very quickly all the test were conducted and Sam got his result at the same time. He was a bit disappointed after he got the results that all the test of his were average other than his physical fitness which was excellent but he was relieved as well because he at least got an average score.

And with his average result that 100% absorption rate was gone in the files of equipment malfunction until very later when Sam shined to the whole world.

Soon he was out of the building and when he reached the gate of the association he found his aunt waiting there who was done with the registration of the evolution method and got 1000 credits from the association for discovering a new method for evolution.

And as they had already discussed they set out to care stone store of the beast association as it was the official store any product for the beast trainer which included core stones. They bought 4 core bronze rank which cost them 100 credits each and 10 black iron rank which cost them 10 credits each all the stones were of 1st stage beast as the 2nd stage beast core stones were almost 5 times the price of 1st stage. Which cost them a total of 500 credits. One point to be noted that Sam's aunt salary for a month was only 400 credits a month and Sam could hardly earn 50 credits a month.

Soon they reached their home where Sam's uncle was waiting for them when he got to know that Sam's score was above average he was happy because most of the candidates who got above average were from a rich family and were always got a very nutritious diet and were kept between core stones to increase mana presence around them but they had nothing thus even the average result was really outstanding.

As mana was adapting to his body thus was a perfect time for him to get a pet thus Sam's uncle told him to use the core stones to get his own beast. thus Sam calmed his mind and started to break the core stones while one bronze grade core stone was kept for his aunt rest were all for him to use until he gets the pet beast.

Sam started with bronze grade stone soon it was in pieces and Sam absorbed its mana but didn't get any pet soon he broke 2nd bronze store still didn't get ant pet he then started to get nervous thus he started to break iron grade stones.

Soon all 10 stones were gone still no pet beasts he got really nervous now and was bathed form sweat from head to toe due to anxiety. Finally, he picked last bronze core stone with trembling hands and looked at his uncle and aunt who encouraged him but from their face, it was also clear that they were also stressed from the result just now.

Thus Sam used all his will power to break the stone still no pets. He only ended with
