Small Beast

Sam was in despair what to do as so many stones just wasted on him but he was not able to get a single pet, what was the probability of such failure of getting a pet. And the only core stone remained was the bronze grade core stone which was reserved for his aunt.

When Sam looked at his uncle and aunt who were also sitting at the side of the room and looking at his, and while they were trying to keep normal face in case Sam doesn't feel disappointment for himself but they themselves were not able to completely mask their emotion as a slight trace of disappointment was visible in their eyes after seeing Sam fail so many times.

When Sam's uncle noticed that Sam was looking at them with a guilty expression as he wasted so many Stones, and within a second he knew what Sam was feeling right now thus he tried to comfort him "don't worry Sam, it happens... look maybe those stones were faulty and now when your aunt will absorb it and for sure she will not be able to get her second pet". Although Edward tried to comfort Sam he somehow turned the fault to the stones.

Now Sara was in a pinch as Edward emphasized that she will not be able to get a pet in order to push the fault to the stones. While she wanted a pet beast, now she could only pray that she wouldn't be able to get any pet beast.

Sara soon calmed her mind and broke the core stone while praying that she won't be able to get any pet beast but whatever the reason fate was not with them today or today was just the worst day for Sam because as soon as she broke the core stone, a white light shined and went into Sara's forehead which signified that she got the pet beast.

Soon light came out from Sara's forehead and became an egg which was covered in the band of different colours and all of them were but green was on the dominant side which was signifying that it was of the wood element. when the egg was summoned whole room sunk in the silence not a single sound was heard in the room, while Sra who should be happy as she got a bronze rank pet on the first try but she immediately became more worried about what would be the effect on Sam.

She then took a look on Edward's face and then turned to look at Sam and as she wanted to say something, Sam said "don't worry aunt I know it's not your fault that I couldn't summon it on so many tries and you could do it on first. And after saying that Sam immediately left the room leaving his uncle and aunt behind.

Sam was really upset at himself at this time as he couldn't summon any pets after wasting so many stones while his aunt did it on the first try. He knows he has no right to be angry on his aunt but he couldn't help it. And whenever he was upset he world touch 'the ring his parents lest' to divert his focus and relive his own mood thus he does the same but something was different this time.

When Sam unconsciously touches the ring without looking but found nothing on the finger where the ring should be present, for one second he didn't feel anything but then he started to feel some abnormality as he had a habit to spin the ring on the finger. And after a minute unable to find the ring he became irritated and looked at his hand.

When he looked at his own hand he got the biggest sock of the day and the matter of not being able to get any beast pet was thrown out of his mind and all the focus on was now diverted to matter "where is the ring"?

Sam search his whole body searched the way he left his home and then started to search the whole house, while he was searching his room anxiously his uncle and aunt saw him doing that and asked for what happened. In reply, Sam just stated that he lost a ring and continued searching for the ring.

Unable to find his ring in the house he set off to the way he went to the beast association to search for it. And his uncle and aunt lest standing at the door asking what ring did he lose but in a rush, Sam continued and didn't answer anything.

Soon entire day passed and it's been more than an hour passed since darkness has descended and a lonely and dispirited figure could be seen making his way on the streets. Soon he reached his destination and knocked the door and almost within a second a couple opened the door and quickly pulled him inside.

Edward and Sara spent the whole day in worry as they didn't know that where Sam went but after some time Sam exited house Edward was able to figure out what ring Sam was talking about and realised if his thinking was correct then the impact of losing ring on Sam was way more than anything in his life as it was the last symbol of his parents.

And when the door knock was sounded almost instantly both Edward and Sara made way to the door and opened it and found Sam outside only them they were somewhat relieved as both of them feared if Sam took the Wrong step over the loos then they will regret forever but fortunately Sam returned to his home safely.

When Sam returned to his home he was completely dispirited and when his uncle and aunt tried to speak with him he just wasn't in the mood thus he ignored them and directly went to his room.

For the whole night, Sam couldn't sleep while he still wanted to search for the ring even in the night but city officials impose curfew at night thus he could only return to his home.

Starting from the next day for some time it became monotonous life for Sam as every day he would go to search for his lost ring without paying attention to anything else and return home dead tired.

Between this, very small good news came that the evolution method for the Dream Butterfly was certified and put on the rack for rent with the price of 5000 credits per use. This became a stable supply of income for the whole family as Dream Butterfly was one of the most common pet beasts in all the border bases.

But Sam didn't care about anything else other than doing everything to search for the ring. Soon a month passed and with the end of that month soon came a massage for Sam to join the wall protection force.

Mostly when the teenagers reach the age 17 they would get their 1st pet beast and learn to fight with pet beast in the institute for a year. And when they would graduate they would choose a line of work they would do for example if one wanted to become beast trainer they would register themselves to the beast association as trainers and they were free to go. But if one wants to do a non-combat job they have to pass the respective department test.

But for those teenagers who failed to get any pet beast or those who had a very low talent to become a beast trainer would have to start doing some non-combative job within a month or they would be forced to join wall guards.

And Sam did the same in this case as he did only one thing within that one month grace period was to search for his ring and remain idle. Thus he was forced summoned to serve as wall guards.

When this news od Sam serving as Wall guards reached the ears of Edward and Sara they flatly refused because the mortality rate of wall guard was as high as 70% thus they tried to offer protection money to the officials related to this matter but due to certain someone pulling the strings from inside Sam was forcefully assigned to the wall guards.

Finally left with no choice Sam had to go the wall guards camp to serve his term. Time passed quickly now it's been three months since Sam joined wall guards and just like his life in the home where he was still living a monotonous life. In his dispirited way, he even forgot about the panel and tried to ignore whenever it came in front of him.

A whole day doing the patrols on a section outside the wall and kill any beast that comes near the wall as they were weakest of the stage1 beasts.

Today was just like any other day Sam was doing his regular patrols outside the wall but there was unusual quietness today almost no sound was made in the surrounding, which was very unusual considering that there was a forest right outside the wall.

Soon he didn't know how but Sam started to feel that something was observing him Sam tried to ignore this feeling but it soon intensified and he started to feel like something was asking for his help. He started to search around him to in order to find what was causing him to feel like this.

Soon in his search, he came out rather far from the wall into the area where bushes were rather dense and strangely he didn't meet any wild beast which was highly unusual. Soon Sam was standing in front of a cave in those bushes and felt like his unusual feeling was coming from inside.

Sam entered the cave cautiously as these places were favourite hiding spot for any beast but as he progressed further he was stunned because in front of him was a small but beautiful striped cat was present.
