Getting A View From Above

The tall tower of babel casted a huge presence over the surrounding area. It was really a mighty structure crafted to stand the test of time even though it wasn't completed.

After the entry archway, there were stairs on either side of the tower, heading upwards at a fourth five degree angle on the side of the tower.

The stairs met on the other side of the tower at a platform and then made their way back around to the front side and then met again to another platform.

This continued back and forth, heading upwards until they met at a level below the top floor of the tower.

Taking the stairs to the right, Yoshuu began to ascend the stairs, moving upwards, higher and higher.

While ascending, he could see all the large structures in the distance properly. He could also see many strange creatures on the roadways, roofs and even in alleys down below.

There were even stranger creatures, flying past him as he made his way towards the top of the tower. They were perhaps the birds of the underworld.

Climbing higher and higher reminded him of the time that he had gotten lost in the forest. He climbed a nearby mountain to view the entire surrounding area. That was more difficult because it test his strength as he pulled himself up alongside the groves in the rocks of the mountain.

He eventually made it to the top of the mountain and saw his way home. When he had seen the way home, he let out a sigh of relief as he did now.

A sigh of relief exited Yoshuu when he reached the second floor. The relaxation of his body quickly turned to rigidity when his foot stepped on the second floor below the roof.

Before him stood a creature in the form of a man, hovering in one spot over the floor.

It was covered in an old, gray, hooded robe over an unseen body. It gave out a dark menacing aura and eerie presence as it stood there.

Darkness resided in the area where the face was supposed to be, unseen by anyone. It's hands which rested at its side were white with long nails.

After a few minutes of it just standing there, facing in Yoshuu's direction, it made no move to approach him. It was as if it did not care about what it was the soul that stood before it.

Finding a small stone close by, Yoshuu gently threw the small stone at it. The stone hit the robe and fell to the ground but the creature didn't take notice of what happened.

Taking the chance, Yoshuu passed far away from the epicenter where the creature stood and headed for the stairs that was at the opposite end, which led to the roof of the tower.

A bit of fear moved through his soul as he passed by the creature, unknown of the creature's capabilities however the creature made no movements to apprehend him as he was passing by.

With the steps before him, Yoshuu headed to the top of the tower to survey the plane from above.
