The intruder

The girl just simply looked at him and smiled and right then and there he knew she didn't belong in the castle that somehow and for some reason she needed to leave.

*Come to my room and get this girl out of here before I do* he mind linked Nathen, then he turned his attention to the girl in front of him just twiddling with her fingers trying to seem as innocent as possible, "what is your name?" William asked already knowing that the general had talked about the enemy kingdom of lordar had rumors telling that they had secret people going undercover and if this girl was one of them that he was gonna need to keep her alive whether he wanted to or not so he could learn of their plans the easy way or the hard way.

He grabbed her hand and held it when she was answering. "My name is Lucy, sir" "What are you in my kingdom for Lucy?" William knew she wasn't gonna be honest in any way possible as he let her hand slip out of his when he pulled his hand away. William looked her in the eyes when she answered just to see if she would tell the truth, "I am here wondering if I could work in the kingdom as one of your personal favorite's." He knew instantly that was a lie because if that was the truth she would've been more respectful first off and she would've know that now that he's married he doesn't do personal Favorite's when it comes to anything now because he had a woman he now put his whole life and heart into and now he had a woman he needed to be loyal and honest with even though he knew he wouldn't be fully honest with her about a lot of things because he didn't see how Kate could do anything, after all she was a woman and her job wasn't to make decisions but to sit and put her input in even though he knew he probably wouldn't even listen to her input because of her being a woman.

Right before William opened his mouth to say something Nathen had come around the corner of the hallway in his guard uniform with sword in his halter on his back. "You called for me, your highness?" "Yes, Nathen can you escort miss.Lucy to one of the special rooms and Lucy I will be seeing you soon to ask more questions about why you wanted to work here so if you will kindly walk with Nathen to your room and I will see you in the morning ma'am" Nathen grabbed Lucy by the arm and started towards the special room that had for people who needed to be questioned.

William walked back into the bedroom where Kate had woken up due to a nightmare interrupting her slumber. William went back to the dresser and grabbed his clothes for the night and went back into the bathroom to change since Kate was awake in the bedroom. 'Why was that Lucy girl here and how did she get in without sounding any alarms or getting caught, tomorrow I need to have a meeting with the guards about this and having a new placement for each of them to guarantee no one else will come in unannounced or unnoticed' William thought to himself while drying his already half air dried hair. William put on his clothes and brushed out his hair and put it back into a mini bun, William had walked out of the bathroom, yet again finding Kate back asleep in bed with the covers only covering her lower part of her body.

William walked over and pulled the covers back over her and made his way to his desk to pick up the recent meeting minutes and notes he had written down over the past few days so he would have a checklist when doing the next meeting to ensure he hit everything he needed to, to ensure that everything was safe and nobody would be coming uninvited and get away with it. A few hours later when William had finished he got into bed and went to sleep. The next morning he had went to the gym and worked out and went for a run while Kate was at the castle safe and still sleeping as always but things morning she managed to wake herself halfway up when William was getting dressed to go work out. She told him good morning and he returned the words to her while she feel back to sleep deep in the covers slowly falling back into her pillow into her dreams.

Kate woke up a few hours later to realize William had already left and she had went down into the kitchen to find a guard at the door of the bedroom that walked her to the kitchen where she saw another guard standing at the entrance. "Is there a reason for so many guards this morning?" She asked the guard that had walked her from the bedroom to the kitchen "Yes Ma'am, last night a woman ended up sneaking into the kingdom, Sir. Nathen had ended up bringing her to one of the questioning rooms for the king to speak with her when he is done with his morning routine." He paused when he heard walking from the other room and had looked to check who it was and make sure it was safe to continue "Sir. Nathen had told us directly to be in every entrance of a room and for me to stay by your side when you leave your bedroom to ensure nothing happens to you." Kate wanted to know why William didn't wake her up and tell her, she guessed that was what all the talking was in the hallway last night after she had woken up. William could've told her what had happened but he went straight into the bathroom and acted like everything was normal, not that a random person had snuck in and got caught by him? Kate just shrugged it off and went along with her morning until William had walked into the living room where she was there drawing as she liked to do in her free time as her own way of handling her anxiety.

William walked into the living room to see Kate on the couch with a sketch pad and a charcoal pencil drawing what looked to be a wolf in very good detail and shading. The wolf was running with a smaller wolf following it and the wolves were in a forest covered with trees and flowers with a waterfall going down a mountain that hit a lake, "Where did you learn to draw like that?" Kate jumped when she heard his voice in her ear out of nowhere. She snapped out of her own reality to realize that William was right behind her and had been watching her draw and had said nothing until now " I taught myself growing up, I loved going outside and sitting in the trees when the sun was rising and going down I would always go to the same tree every time because it's branches made a perfect desk and chair out of them and it was comfy. If I was lucky I would see wolves come near but not seem to notice me so I took the chance to use them to build my drawing skills and now I use it as a therapy when I just need time to myself."

Kate spoke so passionately about it William couldn't help but let a small smile slip on to his face and reach his head down and kissed Kate on the cheek. " Well you're extremely talented." Kate smiled back up at him as she felt her cheeks grow a soft pink, as soon as she notice she put her head down and giggled to herself about what had just happened and William caught on and had reached down and slid his hands under her arms and placed them on her stomach and put his face in the crook of her neck and kissed her on the neck slowly leading small kisses up her neck until he was back to her cheek and moved his lead and looked her dead in the eyes and whispered to himself "beautiful" and that's when Kate lost it and went straight to putting her lips on his.
