I simply want to dress to impress people, to impress her. But that didn't go right. She just asked me "Hey, can you go with me?" and without waiting for answer, she grabbed me from the wrist and we hurriedly walked to the front door and into her car. She drove in silence for minutes before she said, "I'm sorry I dragged you into this. Matt and I haven't decided on the cake and flowers yet. And for all those years we are together, I didn't had the slightest idea."
I smiled, thought bitter on the inside, "Really? You didn't know he's allergic to any flowers?"
She looked at me for an instant and looked back on the road, "Really?"
"Yeah. He couldn't even hold the flowers for long. His skin gets itchy and swollen"
"But he's bringing me flowers. And we even went to many flower farms on many occasions."
"Hmmm... he might be drinking antihistamine before that."
"Really? I didn't know all of that..." I can see worry in her face, "Do you think he won't get allergic on our wedding?"
"Nope, I don't think so. If he can make it look like he has no allergy in front of you, then he would definitely be drinking meds before you exchange vows."
"Wait..." she looked at me again before looking back at the road, "Does that mean he doesn't like flowers?"
"Hmmm... He's always fascinated with green rose."
"But that's expensive!" she exclaimed
"But that's your wedding." I said flatly
"How about cakes? I know he loves chocolates."
"Yep. He loves chocolates. That's the only sweet he won't share with me."
"Then we'll have a choco-flavored wedding cake then."
After a few minutes of driving, she talked to the lady who seemed to be the wedding planner, then they both walked to their cars. We both went to the wedding venue together. It was a big old church that would give the viewers nostalgia. Coral stones and adobe line up the wall but the inside is painted intricately with vivid images of scenes from the Bible and what looked like three-dimensional patterns from afar. Old and classic on the outside but modern in the inside.
"Looks stunning right? We decided this will be our wedding venue the first time we visited this church years ago." Aileen told me as she gets near.
"Yeah. It's a lot to take in. Very stunning."
The wedding planner, Shayne, come to us after talking to a clergy, and she introduced herself to me.
"Hi. You must be Mr. Abrenica. I'm Shayne. Nice to meet. We've been talking over the phone for a long time, but this is the first time we actually meet. Hope we get along fine." she extended her hand to me, thinking I was Matt.
"Ahmmm... No, he's not Matt. He's Ed, Matt's best friend." Aileen corrected.
Shayne's eyes widened, "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! You looked so good together, I thought you're the groom"
How I wish that was the case...
