Swallow the Bitterness to Their Bellies

Captain Ling, Huo Youyou and the others from the crime unit went to the three people they suspected would be the next victim.

Captain Ling and Huo Youyou went to the one with the highest possibility, Cao Yang, one of the students who raped Zhao Shuangshuang. Meanwhile, the others went to the other two people, Yang Hui and Han Long.

Cao Yang was a classmate of Zhao Shuangshuang, Shen Yu as well as the other two who defiled Zhao Shuangshuang, Yang Hui and Han Long.

Cao Yang, Yang Hui and Han Long were notorious for their mischievousness as they were second generation young masters. In their high school, they were known as the most problematic students - they beaten up some students till they were hospitalized, they verbally assaulted the teachers and staffs and they broke some school regulations that each of them would result the expulsion. But, because they were from prestigious family with deep background, the school's management could only turn blind. They were afraid that if they unintentionally provoke those young masters, their families would surpress them. So, they could only swallow the bitterness to their bellies.

It was the same when Zhao Shuangshuang reported those young masters to the school management after she was raped by them. The school only played deaf and blind, not responding to her request. They were truly afraid of them.

Captain Ling answered, "We are from the crime unit of Imperial City Police Department. Is it really Cao Yang's house?"

"Yes. But why are you looking for my son?" the woman asked. She was well aware that her son was a total scumbag who frequently violated the law. But, everytime he was about to be charged, she would always pay his bail. After she did that, his violation would be erased and he would stay 'clean'. And now, why did the police come to find him? Did he break another law without her knowledge?

Huo Youyou replied, "May i know where he is?"

"What do you want to do with him?" Cao Yang's mother inquired. Her tone was slightly raised.

"We'll tell about this to you later because we are running out of time. You only need to know that we're here for his own safety." Captain Ling wanted to explain but they ha much time left to spare.

The woman was sceptical with the answer but she sensed the urgency behind it. She was in dilemma whether to answer truthfully or not before she decided to trust them. "He went to find his friends Yang Hui and Han Long since yesterday."

Captain Ling and Huo Youyou eyes flew wide open as they looked at each other. Yesterday? They checked both Yang Hui and Han Long yesterday. From the report, he was not with them. What if...

Countless if's and scenarios were constructed in their mind the moment they realized it. Huo Youyou reminded Cao Yang's mother. "Thank you. If your son contact you, please let us know because it is for his safety Here is our information..." Huo Youyou emphasized the words 'his safety' to the woman as he handed her their contact number. Then, they bade farewell.

The car they ride had just left the compound when someone from crime unit called Captain Ling. Captain Ling took the call and turned on the loudspeaker function. "Captain, there is a report of murder a while ago. It occurred in..." the one from the other end told the detail of the case. He paused for a while before he continued, "The victim is Cao Yang"

"SCREEEEECH!"

Huo Youyou who was driving the car forcefully stopped the car as he step on the brake in shock. Fortunately the road was not packed by cars as it was already past working hours.

Both Captain Ling and Huo Youyou were completely shocked as if they were just petrified by the lighting that stroke. Cao Yang died?

Captain Ling stood up from his seat and said to Huo Youyou. "Youyou, don't be discouraged. We'll find the murderers soon.". It was not known whether he said it purely to encourage Youyou or to encourage himself.

"Yes Captain." Huo Youyou stood up as he replied. There was a glint of complicated feelings in his eyes that quickly disappeared. "Captain, i'll go to the lab where the victim was examined."

Captain Ling waved his hand. "Just go."
